    Well he’s had a lower ERA than all starters the last couple years. Who is the top starter, salary-wise? 35M? I’d say he’s worth 45-50 but maybe you get him for 40-42/year? I dunno, Hahn is better with the contract stuff

    If the Sox are rolling with Cease, Reylo/Bridge then Kopech...they are going to need innings. sign me up for 70 dominant innings added. Expensive, but it’s not like we can’t use the help. Bullpen is going to be tough to get through

    I don’t think it’s fair to say that Dunning represents 5 years of a number 4. Nobody knows. He might suck ass and flame out next year. The probabilities for either seem pretty even to me since his stuff is somewhere between “meh” and “sucks” to begin with.

    People somehow don’t realize this. The Sox are sitting in a much sweeter position with people locked up long term. We are about to be the envy of the league

    Yea. And don’t discount major advancements by many of the Sox prospects this year. We could be way more loaded than many think, and if that’s the case, I applaud RH for not trading these guys just to satisfy some dark impulsive corner of Sox fans. What if Burger just mashes this year? Good Lord

    I still wouldn’t want the Padres MLB and MiLB rosters over ours. Really not feeling their position players or pitching really. Not to take anything away from them but it looks really good but not great. I see great over here with my homer glasses. They can’t touch great

    For sure, except for Dunning. Easiest guy to project ever once he got traded. All he has to do is basically show up to the park next year to log a quick 200 IP, 4 WAR season with his eyes closed. Talk about a high floor. His ceiling? I don’t even know- last time I said Greg Maddux combined with Nolan Ryan, but that’s just insulting to King Dane.

    Lol. Well not until Céspedes comes up and gets 2 hits his first game. ONLY THEN will we have the needed data to project what a great career he will have. “2 hits x 162 = 324 hits per year...but I don’t want to be ridiculous so let’s just say he averages 275 hits per year for 6 injury-free years. This is basically his floor worst case.”
