  1. For sure, except for Dunning. Easiest guy to project ever once he got traded. All he has to do is basically show up to the park next year to log a quick 200 IP, 4 WAR season with his eyes closed. Talk about a high floor. His ceiling? I don’t even know- last time I said Greg Maddux combined with Nolan Ryan, but that’s just insulting to King Dane.
  2. Lol. Well not until Céspedes comes up and gets 2 hits his first game. ONLY THEN will we have the needed data to project what a great career he will have. “2 hits x 162 = 324 hits per year...but I don’t want to be ridiculous so let’s just say he averages 275 hits per year for 6 injury-free years. This is basically his floor worst case.”
  3. This FO is a juggernaut. Just mowing down the competition.
  4. Totally. But the irony of it is that the educational inflation is 100% the government’s fault for insuring and writing these loans...AND NOW...we want the government to borrow more money from the taxpayer to “fix” the problem they created by insuring these loans in the first place. It’s interesting to wonder what college would cost today if there were no insured loans.
  5. I wonder if the FO deserves praise for Iocking all these guys up to cheap extensions. Na, most teams are doing that.
  6. Stop federally insuring/writing loans and the price of college would come way down
  7. I just think it’s weird to take any of it personally. I think our FO has done a great job with the rebuild
  8. Man from what I can tell, Bauer seems like one of the few guys who really gets it- it’s a fans game. I watched his video talking about when TA finally got him and the one about the top 5 fan bases courting him right now. That was all good stuff
  9. All fair points. I just wonder if we NEED to force Crochet to try being a starter when we have Lopez, Cease & Kopech already arguably years further along in workload, with the Kelley, Thompson, Dalquist, Stiever etc tier of guys also arguably more ramped up as well. Not trying to get too Caulfieldish here with the name dropping but there are tons of guys that can potentially fill the SP role without having to remove the most electric lefty arm in baseball from our bullpen. If Kopech is looking really good there’s no reason to develop Crochet as a starter IMO.
  10. Traditionally yes, that’s the safe and obvious course of action. As fans of baseball, that’s for sure what’s been beaten into our heads for so long now it’s not even really an opinion- it’s like etiquette now to say that. I get it. But damn, 102 from the left side, able to cover 1-3 innings every other day is insane. Especially with the uncertainty stemming from the overall low inning loads of 2020...we need guys to cover more innings than you may think. I’d love for him to take 100 IP. I get what you’re saying though, baseball gonna baseball.
  11. I’m of the opinion that Crochet should never be a starter and that having a nuclear weapon in the bullpen that makes Andrew Miller look like Jim Parque is an absolutely wonderful advantage, especially come crunch time. What a home run of a pick.
  12. Lol wtf. I live in Leander TX. Anybody know how I can attend? I’ll film it
  13. How could we elect Biden when this guy’s out there
  14. I agree on the doughy 34 year old body part. I think you have to really take into account that the organization went into the 2019 season trying to build value for Dunning because they either don’t believe in him long term, have too many better guys ahead of him or both. They pumped his value strategically. Then they entered the offseason hoping to trade him at what they perceived to be absolute peak value. If that’s true then this was a masterful play. Everybody should acknowledge that as a legitimate possibility but I feel most aren’t.
  15. We still have better players at most positions than other teams. I think the rude awakening is for the league, when they don’t know why their mouth tastes like Chicago.
  16. Hard to argue. This is easily a 90+ win team as is. I think most people are hoping the Sox take it to that next level of “fuck you, the trophy doesn’t get handed out this decade without our say so”. That’s Bauer and Hendricks.
  17. Of course. .365 OBP batting 9 has to be some kind of record. that RLRS turning over the lineup is going to be really hard for our opponents
  18. And yet the Fed will continue to print waaaaay more cash and people will still argue about this white supremacism like it matters. And Biden will take credit for the roaring economic recovery that Trump took credit for that Obama originally hailed as a slow recovery. But all it is is the Fed printing cash and soon the price of consumer goods will inflate so much that people will actually call for MORE government as the solution. And that will be the end. buy yes let’s call Republicans bad and Democrats good today. Let’s argue about level 1 stuff while level 10 flies right overhead. Let’s talk about racism while the government steals your savings, pension, 401k and purchasing power right out from under you.
  19. Agree on that. But dude, if you can’t see why Keuchel’s comment is absolutely ridiculous and deserving of ridicule...I dunno.
  20. Ahhh gotcha. I didn’t know that about Dunning. Thanks for clarifying
  21. Funny because has anybody ever ACTUALLY SEEN Rick Hahn write something? Sure he talks the very educated talk, keeps it real sharp and classy, but it’s entirely possible he writes and types like a total moron.
  22. “I had to do a lot of teaching” He’s gonna get so much shit for that from the guys and rightfully so
