Dunning is a 26 yr old pitcher who has thrown a handful of major league innings, is years away from a 180+IP workload, coming off a recent TJ surgery... who also happens to top out in the low 90s. He was also the 3rd toss-in piece of Rick Hahn’s masterful fleecing of the Nationals and just netted us a 200IP horse for a hard push at the title in 2021. This is not a bad trade. I can’t believe we got that much for dunning TBH.

Is simply taking the contracts of Darvish AND Heyward a fair trade? I think that’s 124 Million over 3 years. Heyward probably gives you 2WAR per year and Darvish another 3. If you buy into new Super Darvish then he’s giving you 4-6. For negotiating though it’s 5WAR per year for 40M per year. There is definitely opportunity for surplus value but plenty of opportunity for meh. Does that make it a wash?

Not sure there’s as much to this as “reported”. The one thing about Snell is that he doesn’t fit the White Sox’ typical pitcher acquisition profile. They always target horses. Is Snell a horse with those IP?

He’s the worst. But I live out of state and tuned into Farmer and DJ about once a year so it won’t affect me. If this stings for cubs fans a little bit then awesome.

Not saying you’re doing this, but I think there’s a tendency on here to make more out of Giolito’s preference for McCann than there really was. I doubt it was any horrible dislike of working with Grandal overall. Probably just had a great relationship with James who was there to help turn him into one of the best pitchers in the game. Sure James might be a little better at stuff than Grandal, but this idea that Gio is going to refuse to work with Grandal like some snobby b**** just doesn’t seem likely to me- seems totally out of his character. He’ll put his big boy pants on just like everybody else and get to work with Tony LaRussa and Grandal and fight for championships

Yes Trump policy overall has been pretty Democrat. I don’t think you’ll find too many real conservatives in favor of many of his policies. He pretty much was a Democrat. Look no further than this recent drug company pricing order- there’s not a conservative thing about that.
