No, Jerksticks was saying that there is no data for asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic cases. Still isn’t. Therefore death rates are still a complete mystery. The same as the common cold? We’re all friends here. Why gaslight? Why make that up?

Of course not. Headlines: “Xenophobia is officially in charge. Prison camps next?” ”Look at unracist Sweden wide open doing just fine!”
-
We were supposed to shut everything down with martial law and never let anybody or any imports into the country ever again. Even doing that the urban areas would have still gotten hit hard but overall we’d have less dead

Amen. To me, the BIGGEST part of respecting science is respecting the process of science. Especially in times of desperation, I understand that we all want to know what’s going on, what the science says. But it’s in times of desperation that it’s critical to not use data to jump to conclusions and call that “the science”. Data is a piece of information. It is nothing more. That chart a person links to isn’t “the science”, it’s just some data on a chart that may suggest something. We all need to be more careful about conclusions, because there aren’t many to be drawn yet except that really really old people are getting slaughtered and some young people are getting hurt too.

We’ll see. But again, “Yes when I think back there was quite a bit of raping and molesting going on. I was being introduced to a lot of people, a lot of people were introduced to me. It didn’t strike me as odd at the time, but now that you mention it, maybe those were children tied up and being molested next to the pool table.” I just don’t see a way to provide evidence against her without a huge PR nightmare.

Fuck yea. I was thinking about this today. I don’t think anything can happen. So she could probably take the stand and say anything she wants, like anything. “Jeffrey made me do XYZ.” She can say anything because who the hell out of that group is going to testify AGAINST her? Is Bill Clinton going to come out and say, “That’s a lie! I was at that molesting party!” Exchange Bill Clinton for someone from the other side if that offended your delicate nature. Point is, will anyone outside of victims say anything?

However they have that microphone set up in that Burger hitting video. Oh man. Sounds like he’s just murdering those balls. He looks solid too

Buildertrend. It’s kinda cool because people find our company on Yelp a lot (which provides its own level of data), the Yelp links them to the website form which inputs directly into the sales section of Buildertrend. So before we even talk to somebody we know that, for example, a man in his 40s (Yelp) who lives at so-and-so address is interested in X project (the form).

You guys have any experience applying data science to construction companies? Currently we use a pretty comprehensive software that manages the whole process from sales, estimating, job costing and finally reporting. So we can see general job margins and margins associated with specific tasks which has been eye-opening to say the least. Just feel like this is the tip of the iceberg of what we could be doing. Data is everything. Data is dollars. You should be called Money Doctors. Do you just cut deals with companies all day and say, “I get to keep 25% of the money I save you, for 24 months. Deal?”

Alright I’ll go down the rabbit hole with you. Shut the WHOLE thing down airtight. Take us through the steps then. Obviously Congress has to subsidize the whole country. Not just unemployment. Every business, including profit. Every bank. Every hedge fund. All multinational corps. All residential, commercial and industrial rents & mortgages. All that moves are food processing, truck drivers and food delivery. And somehow medicine delivery. Mandatory stay at home with martial law enforcement. Im sure I’m missing tons but that’s what it would take basically, right? To stop this. To get rid of the virus. Just like in outbreak, if you get sick you hang a flag outside the house or outside the 78th floor balcony if you live in a dense urban area. That probably gets it done. What do you think?

My neighbor is an EMT outside of Austin. He said the governor has had them running constant tests at all nursing homes since the whole thing started and pretty much every Covid call is at a nursing home (for EMS calls). He says it’s just been slaughtering those places. Even with all the constant testing they’ve been doing for months it just rips through them.

Sox planning on having fans present in small amounts
Jerksticks replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It’s weird. We know thousands and thousands of people in illinois for example are jumping into Wisconsin and Indiana to vacation, work out and do hosts of activities unprotected. They all come back every week. Constant shuttle of disease. But publicly, the Sox have to worry about what you are saying. They have to worry about the contact chains from every 5-30 cough. Yet nobody has to worry about the thousands of contact chains compounded every day across state borders. -
It’s starting to come out.

Top 3 Things You’re Looking Forward To
Jerksticks replied to KnightsOnMintSt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
What happened to TA’s YouTube channel content? All gone. I was digging that stuff in March; that’s the future of baseball -
Anybody else feel like the last 10-15 games of this season might be some of the most exciting baseball ever?
-
Interesting. What makes you think those areas got hit harder than the numbers say?
-
This has never been one of my thoughts on here. Ever. Please write a retraction. I HAVE steadily maintained the position that we have no idea what the asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic rates are. Without knowing those numbers, anybody on here telling people about death rates, cases and “today’s number of cases” is not using their brain. Go ahead and use that info to speculate all you want, I’m game for that and will be right there in the trenches with you, but don’t you dare tell me you know what’s going on with COVID based on flimsy flim-flam. For example, the other day some guy on here was telling people 1 out of every 200 baseball players statistically would die if they all caught Covid, because a chart showed a .5% death rate in 20-69 year olds. People are shouting that information like it’s fact without even using their brains to say “wait a second, are there some pretty obvious ways this chart is missing some seriously huge data points?”

I’d personally like to see us kick a bunch of ass and have as much depth as possible. Trading McCann for swampdick is the last thing I would do. He’s going to very important to us.
-
Maybe we’ll get some coordinated celebrations? Whole team pimping would be cool like NFL touchdowns
-
Agreed. I looove our natural easy power at almost every position. We’re gonna be putting up some big scores.
-
“With a positive test”!!!!!!! Now add in all the people over the past 4 months in that age group who never got tested! Remember when nobody could get a test the first 2 months unless they were basically dying? (Completely unknown number). Add all those people to the number Now add all the asymptomatic people in that group that have had the virus over the past 4 months. (Completely unknown number).Add those people. This isn’t rocket science to start thinking that maybe .4 is off by magnitudes. Multiple, multiple magnitudes. Don Cooper? Jim Leyland-type guys? Totally different story.
-
There’s absolutely no possible way that is true.
-
Can’t the owners just cancel the season due to health reasons? Is Bob accurate here?
-
Yea I can get behind this

Well we still don’t know anything about the virus. It’s possible that most of the MLB players could become positive and never have a single person get sick or require hospitalization. What’s likely is something in between. If every player got infected at once, some would probably get sick. It’s hard to say, simply statistically, if any would require hospitalization. I would lean towards probably not but of course I’m just speculating, just like anybody who takes a counter opinion to what I’m saying. It’s all speculation. This is definitely a giant mess any way you slice it. The science just isn’t there to even suggest a course of action yet outside of a bubble.
