  1. Harper & Eloy in the corners is waaaaay better than Avi & Delmonico
  2. Is it Lebron’s fault for building all his Frankenstein teams? The Celtics?
  3. Can we make a thread that’s rated R where everyone tries to come up with a potential post that would be worthy of closing the Filibuster?
  4. What was said to close it? Is there a post that should be famous for burying the filibuster?
  5. If you are replying to me I have no idea what you are talking about. I didn’t mention storm troopers coming to take guns anywhere. I was referring to Cortez coming to take your money at gunpoint.
  6. I think the old cliche of missing the forest for the trees is very appropriate this last decade, and now more than ever. A bunch of Americans are getting really really really mad at the trees that don’t matter. These people would happily burn down the forest to save their tree. In fact, people are now being elected to Congress like Cortez who will literally take your rights at gunpoint (burn down the forest), but it is okay because people like her talk about that fucking tree that is so important to you.
  7. Haha thanks for sharing this. I can’t stop reading it! Your take is spot on. “Sorry to burst your bubble White Sox fans.” has me in tears. What a funny position to take, being the one responsible for letting Sox fans know the player they aren’t even remotely unanimously interested in grew up rooting for a different team and said it would be cool to play there. It’s almost onion worthy. I’d love to write articles like his all day. “Sorry so and so, those so and sos you don’t care about won’t be coming this year. Try not to kill yourself if you can help it. “
  8. Haha and these idiots think we should raise income taxes on the “rich”.
  9. I dunno I guess. At 3B you better be ready for rockets
  10. The problem is that somebody like Ocasio-Cortez becomes one of the most dangerous people in the history of America. Imagine in 2020, tens of millions of young Americans voting simply for a message of “free college” and “15 dollars” That one, idiotic vote could undo everything the founding fathers set up. America would be over. That’s how scary the young vote is. It could end everything. The electoral college helps insulate against that but not completely.
  11. He was drafted because of his wicked ass fastball, control and seen as close to major league ready. He was not a reach by any means whatsoever IIRC. I still love the pick. I get you don’t. But placing blame or bashing the FO for anything related to Burdi just seems forced. Fulmer? Have at it. Burdi? Just no.
  12. I disagree it looked ridiculous at the time. He represented a Safe Ceiling pick which is rare. 100mph that was close to playable in MLB. That’s a super safe bet of getting huge value at that point in the draft. I liked the pick better than some highschool kid with a similar loud tool. I understand why some people disliked the pick but have some patience; he might be something special even at 94-96 if that’s how it shakes out.
  13. That would be awesome. Seems like this year might really be the test of the luxury threshold. If all the big boys blast through it after resetting, then it isn’t tough enough of a penalty to promote the parity it is striving for. Can’t wait to see how it all shakes out and I hope you are right. Baseball would be awesome next year
  14. What are a bunch of examples of this. Schwarber at 4 is the only obvious one I can think of. Does this really happen all the time like some make it seem? And are there examples of the underslot-then-overslot producing an overslot gem in later rounds all because of the underslot at the top of the draft?
  15. I get that this is news but I can’t believe his velocity will matter until spring training 2020. Take your time Burdi, get healthy and strong.
  16. Seems like he’ll be a good Justice. Law is law to this guy. Doesn’t seem like the weak kind that will cave to social pressure. Law is law. As it should be. Roe v wade is law, so everyone can fucking relax. It ain’t getting overturned. I’d bet my life on it
  17. The cubs spent about $130M on their pitching staff alone this year. There is nothing impressive about their rebuild strategy. It was basically “kinda try to get some good prospects, oh whoops we lucked into Bryant, now spend half a billion dollars and outspend your division rival by 100 Million”. It’s not really an approach that had a lot of innovative strategy. Just kinda got lucky in 2016 with the pitchers all having career years and the prospects hadn’t been exposed yet. Nothing about it is impressive
  18. Hopefully it’s all even now, each side totally screwing the other with a SC nominee. I look forward to decades of bipartisanship now!
  19. Shit! I don’t want to read the opinions saying something like “he should just get it now and get it over with” and then if he does get hurt they will say “see, if he had gotten the surgery last year...” That type of human is hard to digest some times
  20. Big fat suck it cub fans. Hope it hurts
  21. So there’s a chance we get to see the Brewers celebrate at Wrigley and then the loser of Rox/Dodgers celebrate at Wrigley. This would be outcome preferable.
  22. Total agree. He puts fans in the seats. He also makes our OF depth more valuable in a trade for a young 3B or SP or whatever
