  1. For real. But end of last year he wasn’t throwing 95 mph gas right? He was just “pitching” REEEEALLY well with 91-93 mph moving stuff and good high changes. Or am I remembering wrong?
  2. Why? What specific things has Coop done wrong with Lopez? I’m not attacking you at all I’m just not aware of the very specific things Coop has done wrong with Lopez. Can you list them so that I can have an easier time agreeing with your point?
  3. I agree. But my point is what is left to change now that everyone has equal rights? Do the non-binaries need “non-binary” listed on every questionnaire? I suppose that needs to happen. But what’s left to really fight for constitution-wise besides rights for robots in the future like I joked about?
  4. I agree that lobbying is right there at the core of everything terrible. Your post has absolutely nothing to do with CU if you were responding to me.
  5. Well technically Citizens United gave all the people at Skynet the right to collectively have a voice. It actually did the opposite of what you’re claiming; it ensured the people have free speech. It didn’t give robots equipped with lasers, advanced AI and super strength equal rights under US Law. I think your irony comment fails because there is definitely a difference between a corporation composed of humans and a killer robot. I suppose there are similarities in that they are both non human entities created by humans, but I think the similarities end there. Right at the point where the robot kills you on its quest to find John Connor. ?
  6. I think the court is the one place everyone should agree a conservative leaning is a good thing. That way it’s a little tougher for flash-in-the-pan emotional cases to change hundreds of years of constitution. It should take a long time to change constitution since it’s pretty perfect. If we had a liberal-leaning court then Skynet would have already rewritten the constitution to give equal rights to the robots with guns trying to kill you.
  7. Haha it’s remarkable. Crazy the complete 180 it’s about to take ?
  8. Somebody told me I was a complete idiot for suggesting that a couple weeks ago. I think they want Kopech and Eloy racing for ROY next year. Good publicity. And great PR to not hold them down for an extra year. “We don’t believe in being disrespectful to our players or trying to control them when they’ve proven themselves ready for the big leagues. What would that say about our integrity as a front office in general, and what message would that send potential free agents?” Total cubs slam just sitting there on a tee ready to be blasted.
  9. Agreed. Passing the idea off as stupid is incorrect. There are countless reasons it’s a good idea and exactly 1-2 reasons it isn’t. That’s all it boils down to. Fortunatey I’m a fan and I’m forced to want him called up. Only people in the front office have concern about service time. I like being forced, and I mean forced, to want him called up this year. It’s all fun with zero negative consequences for me as a fan.
  10. I needed to hear the Lopez bit. I was trumpeting him as the prize in that trade but people talking about spin rates and whatnot got me feeling low on him lately.
  11. If only Hahn would have traded him last offseason. Totally understand why he didn’t and I probably wouldn’t have either, but damn, coulda added a really nice prospect to reset Peavy deal
  12. I imagine if the Red Sox don’t win the World Series this year we probably win the sale trade.
  13. Absolutely. Man anybody wish he would work out a little bit? I’m familiar with the arguments against pitchers working out but shit it’s 2018. He could be a beast.
  14. I think it was the length of time our offense was out there. If the Sox go 1-2-3 in the seventh I think he’s back out there.
  15. Seemed like he did really well with his not-so-great stuff. Still located the fastball. Would be curious to hear his comments on his stuff today
  16. Of course he does. He’s been in the world a bit now. There’s a reason alcohol, tobacco, voting, owning firearms etc aren’t available to minors. Our national law of 18 basically says, “people younger than 18 are stupid and we don’t trust them with sensitive stuff. We expect them to be rather insensitive with sensitive material, therefore they will not lawfully have access to various sensitive items.”
  17. I don’t think it’s stupid timing. I think the Sox want him (and Eloy) to get shots at ROY next year.
  18. Let’s see if Kopech and hopefully Eloy coming up lights a fire under Moncada’s car-collecting ass
  19. Will he still keep rookie eligibility for next year?
  20. This is awesome. I love the people mad about this. The argument is that service time is quantifiable but pissing off players & agents isn’t so it doesn’t exist. Not my money so I can’t pretend to be mad or upset.
  21. For sure. Hey do you know when minor league control starts ticking for a guy like Nunez. He’s spent 4 years in the rookie leagues so does he only have 3 years left?
  22. Any compilation of TJ video? Or any video at all?
  23. Why? I think we have to forget about control. It’s not our problem to worry about. The Sox FO knows all about the issue. If they sept callup these guys then that’s their move. A gesture of respect is not a bad move. As a fan, I’ll be excited to watch.
