Current personal White Sox T30 prospects
Jerksticks replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
Love Eloy & Kopech at 1,2. I think Hansen is ahead of Robert right now, by a mile. Dude is like a half season of more dominance away from pitching in the majors at an elite level. He might be better than Kopech, just as good, or just below. Not sure how Robert can be ahead of him before any A Ball ABs. Love me some Robert and the fact that you all put him at 3 has me super excited for this season. -
Zeroer balls- Gavin Floyd or Javy Vazquez?

White Sox add Gillaspie, Eloy, Basabe, Clarkin and Micker

QUOTE (Tony @ Nov 20, 2017 -> 10:11 PM) That's where I really don't like the Rule V draft. No one can convince me that putting a kid like Basabe on an ML roster, giving up 80-100 ABs in 2018 is good for his development. But the team doesn't have any other choice. Totally agree. Doesn't seem right messing with young guys like that. And especially now with parity disappearing and the super tankers becoming more popular, I see the potential for bad precedents being set. What the hell is the reasoning for Albuquerque over Tito, Guerrero or Peter? What is the front office thinking there? They are obviously WAY smarter and more informed than any of us so I'm trying to wrap my head around it. Is there still time to make changes? -
QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Nov 18, 2017 -> 01:06 PM) Pretty awesome to have that much money to spend and very little needs I feel like with the amazing amounts of talent acquired the Sox could win the World Series 3 straight years with a $50M payroll. Suck on that cubs

Ghengis!!! You're incredible man. I hope he's going to Coop's for Thanksgiving

Now I understand this thread, unlike last year's retardedry.

I'm surprised we haven't seen anybody launching a bunch of homemade pipebombs with shrapnel into huge crowds yet. I'm also surprised that out of 320+ million people living in this country we only get a shooting once a year or so. Speaks volumes to what an absolutely wonderful place this is to live. Just like anywhere else in the world we have some crazies. But our crazies barely ever do damage. Sure sucks when they do though. Just mind-boggling that only 1 out of 150+ million adults per year gets pissed off enough to go out and do something horrible to random people. Now gang violence, revenge, general homocide will always happen, guns or no guns. And somebody pissed off enough to want to kill 50 people will clearly be determined enough to find a way without his little ar15. Bombs is when it gets scary. Can't outlaw homemade bombs and I'm thankful nobody is doing that.

So if assault rifles were banned one day, what happens to all the existing assualt rifles? Do they get grandfathered?

You know what might be the only thing that would work? Mandatory carry. You don't have a gun? Arrested. Unless you're crazy.

QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Nov 5, 2017 -> 01:28 AM) Medicare for all. Stop the nonsense already, it's time. (not directing the criticism at you, just a general statement) People shouldn't be locked down on their jobs because of their health benefits. You should be able to open a business and not worry about that s***. It's sad, and I just recently got a job and have had a nagging shoulder issue for months. I'm happy I can finally get my shoulder looked at, in a month, when my benefits kick in, in f***ing america, the alleged greatest country on earth... Good idea. Why hasn't anyone in Congress thought of that yet?

For as long as it sometimes takes young hitters to figure out big league pitching, it might be nice to have a guy in his prime who can hit .330 and loves being here. I mean in 2019-2020, are we really expecting all the young guys to be awesome. I'm guilty of thinking that quite often. Eloy might be a special case hopefully.

Plus Schwarber was pretty much platooned the second half and sat against some tough righties. The resurgence numbers are very very misleading. I don't think he fetches much, especially from NL teams.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 31, 2017 -> 04:21 PM) Trying to set the highly partisan nature of how these ads were targeted aside, it's really troubling how low-cost and easy it is for foreign governments to influence so many Americans. Facebook admitted yesterday that the fake Russian accounts and stories reached 127 Million Americans during 2016. I have no idea what you do to combat that other than a generational project of instilling critical thinking and media literacy so that such tactics can't be as effective. I don't know about your Facebook, but for every conservative post I'd have like 6000 liberal posts (yes hyperbole). The gap has widened even more since the election. I'm in my 30s so of course the younger people are super liberal and the older folks are consevative, generally. Which is pretty much how it always is. Unless some quid pro quo emerges, say relating to ukraine policy, i don't honestly think the Russians cared who won. They just wanted to f*** with as much West as they could. I'll maintain that viewpoint until some proof otherwise emerges. Collusion seems just as unlikely now that it's MuellerTime as it always has IMO.

All i want the sox to do is sign swarzak to 1 yr deals for the rest of his career. Guarantee him a trade to a legit contender next year and come back and help us win a WS

Robert, duh! Machado over Arenado hands down? No second thoughts? Mainly age?
-
QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 31, 2017 -> 10:18 AM) I just worry they will make a decision to let Blackmon so they can keep Arenado at all costs. I could see that for sure. Rdy for drool city? Moncada Delmonico Arenado Abreu Jimenez Collins Burger Anderson Engel Swap some out, whatever- still looks juicy AF
-
I'm actually a little nervous here. Stanton seems like just the type of guy the White Sox loved to add from 2000-rebuild. The money, on the other hand, says Stanton is a guy the Sox would never add. Arenado is too perfect a fit for a run of championship seasons.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 28, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) He doesn't just hit pitchers. He hits their souls. Ooo Tommy Likey.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 25, 2017 -> 06:12 PM) I do not think a best of 3 Wild Card round works. It's the most fair, but people don't care about fair in the playoffs, because those one and done games are awesome. If they did expand it, like you are suggesting, then I would say you have 4 play in games, which would double the amount of drama from the Wild Card games. Two divisions in each league, two division winners and four wild card winners. That's 6 playoff teams from each league and the Wild Card teams play to get in, 3v6 and 4v5. Back to back 1 game death matches sounds awesome. Yea it's unfair for many reasons...but that's what you get you s***ty wildcard team. Win your division next year to avoid the gauntlet.
-
No suggestions but that's cool man! Can't wait to look back on that after Chris Sale's HOF speech.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 04:08 PM) Has Holland announced his retirement yet? Has Shields? Has Pelphrey? They need to go away. Ha well somebody has to physically throw the baseball. You could argue rushing guys like Guerrero & Stephens to start the season since the big dogs like Kopech & Hansen will get more time in the minors...and maybe just Hansen. Giolito Lopez Shields That's it right now for start of the season right?

Maybe if he pronounced his name "Petreeka" like it looks these kinds of things wouldn't happen.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 08:58 PM) Q with the long con. I like it. Haha love it. I'm so happy right now.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 01:57 PM) I dont know. Its impossible to predict the future. But as of today I havent really seen any positives. That being said, maybe tomorrow Trump wakes up realizes that his plans are harming American's and decides to be the "deal maker" and works out a deal so that we all have better cheaper insurance. Maybe he ends his stupid crusade against immigrants, foreign trade, the environment, etc. Who knows. But I dont think that there have been tangible positives for many people at this time. I think the border security and flow of illegals that Obama wanted to stop he's doing a good job on. The wall idea seems ridiculous but overall I'd say he's been a positive influence on the southern border. Other positives? Haha i dunno
