  1. Yo, what about the sox trading Sammy Sosa...i know yall hate him, but to bad they didn't keep on too him for a lil bit longer and how about the trade for Matt Gurrier for Damaso Marte...that turned out pretty sweet
  2. The sox traded Aaron Miles for Juan Uribe White Sox get Uribe from Rockies for minor league star Miles Dec. 2, 2003 SportsLine.com wire reports CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox bolstered their infield depth Tuesday, getting Juan Uribe from the Colorado Rockies for minor league infielder Aaron Miles. Uribe hit .253 with a career-high 10 homers and 33 RBI for the Rockies last season. He missed the first two months of the season with a broken bone in his left foot. Uribe started 286 games at shortstop the past three seasons, and also made 11 starts at second base last year. But he'll likely be primarily a backup in Chicago. The White Sox already have veteran shortstop Jose Valentin, and they hope to re-sign second baseman Roberto Alomar. "In the short term, Juan gives us an experienced utility player who can deliver, plus defensive skills at both shortstop and second base," White Sox general manager Kenny Williams said. "In the long term, we believe Juan has a high upside as an everyday shortstop in the major leagues." Uribe is a career .258 hitter in three seasons in Colorado. Miles spent most of the season at Triple-A Charlotte, where he was chosen as the International League rookie of the year. The switch-hitter batted .304 and led the league with a club-record 166 hits. He also hit 11 homers and had 50 RBI. Miles made his major league debut Sept. 11, and hit .333 with two RBI in eight games for the White Sox. "We've identified a certain type of player we want to add to our roster, and Aaron possesses a lot of the intangibles we want," Rockies general manager Dan O'Dowd said. "He's a tough, hard-nosed, aggressive kid. We think he has a chance to be a good major league player." O'Dowd said the Rockies are looking to use Miles primarily at second base. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/6886326 what do u think of this tade??? COuld Valentin be going and uribe starting? I always liked Aaron Miles though
  3. dont care if u dont believe me, harold being harold baines, sox bench coach...got pics to prove , but whatever what do u mean hes got a hot chick down here?
  4. Bye Robbie. Mary Pierce is one ugly chick.: hes way over her...they've been broken up for ever...and i don't agree with Robbie's taste, her and MY SISTER i stayed at the same hotel as the redsox in Boston and he invited my sister into the bar, and eventaully my, my father and my other sister joined and talked to him...this was that series against Boston when Colon and Beurhle won and the sox were tied with the twins...sep 14th i think, anyway i got all of the teams autographs in the bar and outside the bus But Robbie offered my sister tickets and stuff and they exchanged #'s and he has called her a few times, at the bar sandy, ass hole koch and harold all stopped by for a bit...I asked Robbie many quewstions and he said that he reall ywants to go back to Chicago and it will only happen if Sandy does...as a player or bench coach It was really cool, and i like Robbie a lot after this, althoguh its weird especially becuz hes about 14 years older than my sis
  5. What is the deal with Colon? Has anyone heard anything? When is he supposed to announce if he will sign the contract Please update me
  6. Sorry, random question...but i just want to know, what exactly did Panigua do to get released. other than pitch like crap?
  7. Alright Maggs...now if everret or konerko can bring him in
  8. This isn't the Colon against Boston...but hopefully he can pitch two more scoreless and set the way for marte and gordon. Or better yet the sox will break it open and marte and gordon can take a rest....as long as koch doesn't go in
  9. Random Note...Josh Fogg is pitching a gem 7.2 in 1 er 7k's
  10. Other than Hummel, Jiminez, who is on the reds. I feel like there might be 2 more.
  11. Unfortunatley www.weather.com says that there is chances of thunderstorms tonight...but they should stop by 9, (plus there is only 40 or 50% chance) so there is a good chace of a delay....I just hope its not cancelled because this is one of the few games that I can see.
  12. 10+ Do u know how many Damon got last year? He was the winner of this...and not Maggs (what a joke)
  13. Thanks to the great play by the redsox and the whitesox the devil rays have one 3 straight. Just a few weeks ago Pinella said that he would day his hair any color (other than pink) if the devil rays won 3 straight. Well Im guessing that the team will decide on blue...bu tits pretty pathetic that the sox lose two games to a team who gets a prize for winning three straight. Imagine what will happen if they sweep... :fyou
  14. I wish...but most seem very doubtful Graff = cycle? who closes then if Koch blows nine more?
  15. I didn't know about the injury status of those minor leaguers...which is too bad. But there is no way that the wsox can trade Koch for someone good. Maybe Wright or another sox pitcher would be a good long term solution...bu for now Gordon has to be the answer. I am sure that there are plenty of teams who would lve to have gordon close
  16. We need to love the Devil Rays....if it wasn't for them we woul dnot have Esteban Loazia and we would probably be 4th place in the easiest divison in the league. If you take the Devil rays out of Loazias stats in 2003 he is 8-7 with a respectable 4.15 ERA For some reason Loazia got completely shelled against the Devil Rays last year. I dont know the numbers...but a ERA in double digits in a lot of starts. If he pitched like he is capable against the worse team in the league Toronto probably would have hung on to him or the whitesox would not have got him for 500,000 and 500,000 incentives. Lets hope his luck changes today ...
  17. I think that Danny Wright should be converted to closer. He has a good fastball and curveball and is always effective with the whitesox early in the games. However, he usually runs into trouble after a few innings and can not go deep into games and has a 5. something ERA. Now that Ring is gone and Marte and Gordon are being really effective as setup men the should give Wright an opportunity. It wouldn't hurt and he woul deffinitely do better than Billy Kock. Then the whitesox could go back into the maret for another starter. They could temporarily use Cotts, Rauch or Stewart...if they are successful keep them...but if they aren't go after Ponson again, or also I have heard interst aobut San Diego's ace Brian Lawrence who i like a lot
