Do we get a comp. pick if Frazier walks at the end of the year?

Here is speculation the Giants could pursue Frazier (http://www.knbr.com/2016/12/07/brisbee-giants-could-make-move-for-todd-frazier/) Anyone worthwhile we could realistically get?

I just worry that we just traded a legit Hall of Famer in his prime on a bargain contract for two unproven prospects and didn't get one proven player in return. Love Moncandas ceiling and if he pans out as a superstar or even very good player, then the deal was probably worth it. But if he flops, we got hosed. That's my thought. To have a hall of famer in their prime on your team is a very rare thing...

Perhaps this was just a leaked report so that everyone saves face. Sox didn't "fire" Robin and he walks away on good terms.

I could see the Sox making a massive contract offer to Ventura on the thought process that the FO doesn't want to get outbid.

I find it so hard to believe Hahn couldn't find a suitor for him at the deadline...

This team is meant to have a guy like Shuck starting in CF. Front office needs to stop fighting fate and let him put up that .200/.250/.330 slash.

This is true. Don't get be angry about Sale and Q, because it's possible Sox didn't get fair value for those players and properly held out. But all indications suggest they could have moved the guys you mentioned and gotten something of value for them and/or obtained payroll flexibility at the same time. Seriously, we could have unloaded Shields... Plugged Fulmer into the rotation next year and had roughly $25 million of payroll off the books for next year (Danks + Shields), which could be used to sign some positional talent.

What if we sweep the cubs and the twins and are sitting 5 over .500 come Sunday. Think we gotta stay put... Only need to go 37-25 the rest of the way to hit that 87 mark. Not entirely crazy...

Robertson isn't as good as Chapman, but he's still a solid closer whose worth his contract, will help another team out down the stretch, and has 2.5 years left of control. That to me nets you what the Yankees got for Chapman as he it literally a 3 month rental.
