  1. I swear I hate those stupid ass Miller commercials on the radio. They are the most annoying EVER! ALL OF THEM! Good God I'll never drink another one again.
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 07:22 PM) f*** you wendlestedt And he's yelling like he's enjoying his bulls*** strike zone. STFU ump!
  3. Man... and I was waiting for something awesome to happen for my 2000th post. At this rate I would have waited days.
  4. Looks like the Red Sawks have stopped f***ing around. Before you know it, the Twins will wake up and start winning too. I know it's early, but I would sure like the Sox to show some signs of life.
  5. Xylyl is one of the strangest words I've ever seen...
  6. I have to admit though... the coldest I've ever been at a game was the Blackout game in 2008, and I didn't mind that at all. That game was EPIC.
  7. Maybe if I was in a galaxy far far away, but I'm on present day Earth and that s*** don't work.
  8. QUOTE (kev211 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 02:21 PM) Ehhhhh This is Chicago were men, lets play baseball where its supposed to be played, outside. I wonder how many times you've been out there freezing your ass off in April or early May, or September or October. I'm not saying play 100% in a dome like The Hubert H. Hunkas*** dome in Minneapolis or whatever that thing is called down in Tampa. Retractable domes are niiiice. Open it up if there's no rain or it's above 60 degrees outside. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 02:32 PM) Then I hope you like the Cubs, because the Sox would have been gone to St Pete. It was about 12:30am, or about 30 minutes past the "deadline" to get the bill passed to build the new park. And that was the cheapassed stadium that we got built. If they had demanded something like a retractable roof, the team would have been gone. Eh I guess you're right. Too bad they couldn't build the thing so a dome could be added to it later. You have to admit that it would be nice to have a domed stadium when it's cold and rainy outside. I bet the place would attract a LOT more fans. Call me crazy, but I refuse to go out there and PAY to freeze my balls off in when it's cold and rainy when I can watch it nice and cozy on the tv. Sorry.
  9. Dammit let's get this s*** straighened out TONIGHT!
  10. Knowing this zombie thread is here is making it hard for me to resist checking SLam.
  11. IMO U.S. Cellular should have had a retractable dome from the get go. Imagine how nice it would be to go to games when during crappy weather like we've been having. I would go to MANY more games if the stadium had a roof. It's working for Miller Park.
  12. It's like a zombie and I'm shocked that it's been alive this long.
  13. GTFO THIS THREAD IS STILL LIVING???
  14. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 09:56 AM) We went hard after Putz. He chased the money and a place that was closer to home. We were never going to get him. i don't think this is a legitimate point to harp on. And Jenks.... Jenks just sucks. I'd like to have Pootz back but no no no way for Bobby Jenks. He wore out his welcome here. People on this board would have gone ape s*** on K. Williams for bringing back Jenks the minute he blew a save here. I'm not worried about the bullpen situation - yet. Hopefully they'll get it figured out. I just don't know if it'll be Thornton.
  15. I have a bad feeling about this game. Haren is insanely good.
  16. I don't think it's ever cool to call a caller an idiot on the radio. It belittles the host and brings him down to the caller's level. That is one of the reasons that I can stand Bernstein. Rongey could have simply hung up on the caller and moved on to the next caller. He has that power. The other guys that fire back at Soxfest don't.
  17. QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 08:09 AM) Giving Santos an opportunity should be easy to do at this point. Ozzie can spin it in a way that won't be devastating to Thornton's psyche. He can simply say that "Santos has earned a shot at it, by having gone unscored upon all Spring and thus far in the season." It should be more about Santos earning a promotion, than Thornton and the others getting demoted. Of course, who knows if he'll be any better. "Geees", I hope so. A good way to spin it is to put Thornton on the shelf with an "injury" while Santos closes, then have MT return to his old setup role when he comes back.
  18. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 06:01 PM) Pretty much exactly how I feel, but I'd like to think that Kenny might be shopping around for bullpen help too. Eh... I doubt if he's looking this early. Remember last year when the Sox got off to a bad start, he was the voice of reason telling everyone to 'calm down... it's way too early in the season'..
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 05:51 PM) Chet is listening to B&B. They used Linebrink goo left over. Bernstein is a douche but those two idiots crack me up.
  20. Scott Linebrink infected the bullpen with his Linestink cooties before he left.
