QUOTE (scenario @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 12:47 PM) People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring. ~Rogers Hornsby Man what a sad day. Hornsby was so right.

I'd be okay with a Morel offensive learning curve if the Sox got a raking DH and right fielder to fortify the line up. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 1, 2010 -> 07:48 PM) Depends on whether the South Korean military would take Morel. I've heard that the Korean military won't be a problem. I don't think it will be. Man he would be PERFECT in RF next year. -

What would it take to make Shin Soo Choo our RF next year? Would Quentin and Viciedo get it done? -

Root for or against the Twins in the playoffs?
chetkincaid replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If Thome isn't playing for the White Sox, I don't give a rat's ass if he never gets a ring. Wait... let me rephrase that... I hope Thome never gets a ring as long as he is a minnesota twin. f*** the twins. I'll never ever root for those bastards. -
QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Oct 1, 2010 -> 10:34 AM) But what is this "right way" that everybody keeps going on about? Because that implies we're not doing it the "right way"? I used to think that meant smallball/fundamentals but I really don't think we're lacking in that area anymore. By "right way" they mean do like the twins are doing - like everything they do is bleeping golden. Wait and see what happens to that starting pitching staff when they get to the post season. f*** the twins.
-
I don't know, but I'll sure be glad when somebody beats these f***ers so people will quit talking about them. Paulie and Ozzie seem to be hypnotized by the aura of the Twins and it seems like it permeates throughout the entire team and organization. They like the twins too much and, quite frankly it's a lil disturbing. You think the redsox talked about how the yanks did everything the "right way" before they finally manned up and beat them in 2004? NO! Varitek muffed A Rod in the face and told him and the yanks to go f*** themselves! You know... these are the times when it would be nice to have a raging a$$hole on your team. I mean an Albert Belle/Vincente Padilla/Carlos Zambrano/Gary Sheffield type a$$hole with some balls that won't sit back and admire the twins so much. f*** that...

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 10:43 AM) I haven't even read the other responses in this thread yet, but I'll just get this out of the way right now. This is typical of the Sox. We're competitive until the last month and a half, we choke, and then we finish out the season strong when we're already out of contention. I think he meant to type that in green.

QUOTE (Real @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 09:53 AM) Danks or Floyd as part of a package would most likely land A-Gon, IMO. In that ballpark, Danks could put up some ridiculous numbers, and it's the NL on top of that Yeah maybe a package that includes Beckham, Sale, Thornton, Morel, and Kenny Williams' lower testicle. NO WAY the Padres trade that guy now that they are close to making the playoffs.
-
I think... I HOPE that Konerko comes back... unless Kenny can figure out how to get Adrian Gonzalez here (which is fantasy at this point). I'd be happy with AJ coming back for another year. I think the Sox should do whatever it takes to fill the holes in RF and the DH position. That is where money should be spent. Plus we need to get lucky and pick up a few relievers that are going to have good years next year.

Gordo's hand improving, hopes to return
chetkincaid replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) I don't see any point in returning this season. Ditto. For what? -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 10:02 AM) Garcia won't be back in 2011 unless something sets back Peavy pretty early on. The Sox don't need him. I'm almost positive that one of the starters (Floyd, Jackson, or Danks) is going to be dealt for a bat or some more talent to fill one of the many holes that the Sox have. So I wouldn't be so sure that Philo Beddo Freddo won't be back next season as insurance in case Peavy has fully recovered...

Root for or against the Twins in the playoffs?
chetkincaid replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hate the Twins more than I hate the Yanks. I hope they get swept in the first round again. And I hate pompous ass Twins fans too. The ones that I've met think they're entitled to something. f*** them. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 07:57 AM) LOL this is funny and sad at the same time. I wish Ozzie could get his s*** together and stay.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 10:17 AM) Well, I see his point. They hit our guy in the head, and we had our softest throwing pitcher respond and left it at that. ON TOP OF THAT they then turned around and hit Juan Pierre later on that same game without retaliation from the Sox. There should have been a at least one Twin leaving the field with a concussion or a broken hand that night. And I know I know... concussions are serious business and you never want to purposely injure another athlete and blah blah blah. Tell that to Pavano and punk ass Delmon Young. Jerry Reinsdorf and Eddie Einhorn don't own the Sox. The Twins do. And as much as I love Ozzie, if he doesn't have the balls to inspire his team to protect themselves, then he can go have a nice life managing the Marlins or the Braves.

I wonder if Boof Bonser's parents were big fans of Teen Wolf...

I don't know if Pujols is enough to make me feel good about Larussa being the Sox manager again. Please no.
-
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) If this is true then I'd like to amend each of my stated opinions concerning the hiring of LaRussa. Drink n Drive, run over kids, I don't care. Pujols is my price to sell off integrity. Would Reinsdorf sign off on a 200 million contract... even for Pujols?
-
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) The Sox are on an eight game losing streak and the jerk says he wants an extension. Talk about bad timing. Either Ozzie thinks he's entitled to the Sox manager job for life or he's intentionally trying to force the issue so they will let him quit and release him from his contract. DING DING DING... we have a winnah!!! I think he's trying to force Sox management's hand.
-
lol I was just thinking... if I was one of KWs sons I'd wanna beat Oney's ass...
-
It is becoming more and more apparent that either Kenny goes or Ozzie goes. That's a shame because I like them both.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 11:11 AM) I hate this argument. Why does this count as a valid reason? EVERYONE HATES TO LOSE. I say that meaning that I don't believe that the Sox will have to go through a long "rebuilding" period like Cleveland and Kansas City when we know going into the season that we'll suck. I think as long as KW is at the helm, the Sox will field a competitive team.
