  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 11:01 AM) And slightly off topic but anyone else notice that Linebrink's last 8 or 9 starts have been pretty damn good? Could you imagine if he had one of those elite half seasons the rest of the way? At this point, I consider anything that the Sox get get out of Linebrink, other than mop up duty, to be a bonus. Hopefully he is able to contribute to the team in the run up to the playoffs.
  2. QUOTE (hawksox13 @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) I don't see Coop being able to make an instant impact with Jackson. I think we'll see the biggest impact this off season and throughout spring training. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Jackson be very good next season, but I think it's expecting a lot for Jackson to come in, have one bullpen session with Coop, and then be lights out the rest of the season. I can't help but be very excited about next years rotation. Danks, Peavy, Buehlre, Floyd, and Jackson. Wow, that could be scary good. This. I wouldn't be all that upset if Coop didn't make dramatic changes to Jackson overnight, or even this season. I would STILL have more faith in Jackson than Hudson in a big game in the playoffs this year. This whole thing reminds me so much of Brandon McCarthy. I think Edwin Jackson is going to be a monster next year.
  3. People seem to overlook that Coop was supposedly salivating over the chance to get Jackson. Think about it: if you're Kenny, and Coop comes to you and tells you that he feels he knows Hudson's ceiling and Hudson won't be very helpful down the stretch, but he's confident that he can turn Jackson into a stud, what would you do? In Cooper I trust. In Kenny I trust
  4. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) With a $13.5M commitment for next year when he'll be 34 and his mediocre offensive production, I'd say yes. Ah nevermind. I just looked up Fukudome's offensive numbers and he sucks.
  5. Would Fukudome make it through the waiver wire?
  6. Maybe Pierre needs to rest his legs? Off topic: Pierre is 205lbs?
  7. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 01:09 PM) I love that range in CF. He looks like a gazelle out there.
  8. So if the Manny thing doesn't work then who else is there?
  9. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 05:22 PM) Hermida's available. So is Chan Ho Park. Do we have a use for him?
  10. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) Hopefully this is better info than his Lebron info. Now he's taking it back. f*** he got my hopes up.
  11. Holy s*** Jason Goff is saying that the Dunn deal might be announced shortly.
  12. Doesn't look like anything is gonna happen.
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) question is would Minny do it if they're still in 2nd to block? Ha would Minny actually do that? Manny is like the exact opposite of the type of player the Twins like. But goodness... Put his bat with Mauer and Morneau's and holy hell. That would suck.
  14. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Not everyone has it. f***ing AT&T U-Verse...
  15. Luke Scott and keeping Jackson would make me happy. ManRam worries me a little bit and Dunn seems to cost too much.
  16. QUOTE (rockren @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:25 PM) Meaning those factors/clubs are reasons we won't win it all this year. Like I said... put Dunn in the middle of that line up with Rios, Quentin and Konerko mashing plus throw in a resurgent Alexei and Beckham AND add a solid rotation and bullpen on top of that? I'll take my chances against the Yanks and the Phillies any day. 2005 says "hi" right back...
  17. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:04 PM) Jake Peavy, the Yankees, and the Phillies all say "hi". Meaning??
  18. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:50 PM) Wow, you really think highly of getting Dunn then... or you don't have as big of a hard on for Viciedo as I do. =D Actually I think very highly of Viciedo. I think he'll be a right handed David Ortiz - in a couple of years. But I wanna win it all this year. The team is built to win this year. With Dunn in the middle of that line up and the pitching staff performing like they are right now, the White Sox are going to be HARD to beat.
  19. If we can get Dunn AND keep Jackson, and Coop really can work his magic with him, I think the White Sox would have to be seen as a legitimate threat to the Yanks. I'd let the Nationals have whatever they want for Dunn. I'd give up Viciedo and any other minor leaguer.
  20. Good. I didn't want this fat f*** anyway. He's still hating from 2005.
  21. Cowley was just on Boers and Bernstein saying that KW is still working on something huge and totally under the radar. Bernstein was trying to figure out who that could possibly be, and mentioned this scenario: Edwin Jackson would go to the Nationals, Dunn to the Rays, and Carl Crawford to the White Sox. Talk about a sleeper... If Kenny Williams landed Carl Crawford, I'd smack anyone who ever said anything bad about him ever again.
  22. f***!!! If the yanks end up with Dunn I'm going to be pissed...
  23. Good God this is killing me!!! Refresh refresh refresh mlbtraderumors.com soxtalk.com refresh refresh refresh COME ON!!!
  24. I don't think there's anything that I am less concerned about than the wave when I'm at a Sox game. Who cares? Remember, there are a lot of CHILDREN at the game, and they get a kick out of it. So to the entire thread, I say... Lighten up Francis.
