  1. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 03:27 PM) From DeLuca: Detatched lat for Peavy likely means he's out till Sept. best-case. White Sox will pursue starter on trade market. What? Why? Yeah but wouldn't it be cool if KW swooped in and stole Cliff Lee? That would be a kick in the sack for the Twins.
  2. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:34 AM) who knows how he'll work out, but he has been a respected assistant for years and years and had at least one other team ready to make him an offer this year to be a coach. That's right. ASSISTANT. Why hasn't he ever had a head coaching job before? And so what if another team offered him a job this year. Does that mean that the Bulls just had to have him?
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:33 AM) First point, front office. Paxson should have been fired years ago, and Gar Forman isn't qualified for his job. That is a bigger reason they should be fired than this failure, pulling a rabbit out of their hat and getting one of the big guys would have been a job saving move more than anything. And how did they fail? They didn't get anybody. You can do everything in preparation you want, but if doesn't work, you failed. Pretty simple concept. BJ Armstrong would have been a better GM lol...
  4. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:27 AM) Thibbs hasnt even coached ONE game and you want him fired. Hilarious. Screw "Thibbs", John Paxson, and Gar Forman. What happened to getting an experienced NBA head coach? This is doing to be VDN all over again. Was Byron Scott even interviewed?
  5. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 10:00 AM) I don't think there's any doubt, especially if Asik is joining the Bulls. Noah and Asik will provide fantastic defense in the post, and Boozer would be a great rebounder and solid scorer. Bulls would be able to compete with anyone in the East in my eyes. Rose Allen Deng Boozer Noah That's nasty. Why would Ray Allen leave the Celtics, the team he's won a championship with and feels confortable with, to come to the Bulls? To play with Carlos Boozer, and Luol Deng? And do you really think that this team would compete with Cleveland, Miami or Boston? I don't think so.
  6. Ha. Byron Scott should be the coach of this team. I guess I'll restart the countdown until the day that John Paxson, Gar Forman and Tom Thibodeau are all fired. I wish Paxson was gone a long time ago. Hopefully this epic failure will finally push him over the edge.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:59 PM) Looks like we've found Lillibomb's kryptonite. Thankfully Weaver didn't make the All-Star Game, so Lillibomb won't have to face him in the game. Lilly says take your kryptonite and go....
  8. Man I love it when the offense is clicking...
  9. We have the technology to replace umpires. lol Alex says stick this up your a$$ Weaver...
  10. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 10:36 PM) Just hopped on board...glad to see Peavy not too seriously hurt. Was Q a late scratch? TCQ late scratch with the sore knee. He's sitting in the dugout wondering where he's going to hide several severed heads and other dismembered body parts that have accumulated in his condo.
  11. Is that actually Roger with the shovel?
  12. Andruw would look nice in a Pirates uniform right now.
  13. What the hell did Hawk just say? Oh well, it's only a STRAIN, thank the baseball gods. I say sit JFP until way after the all star break. Let's see some Carlos Torres.
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) That's great if we're doing a triathlon but it's not helping him at the plate. In all fairness... the guy probably would have some decent numbers if he had gotten more playing time and more at bats. If he were the everyday starter, his line would probably look a lot different. Maybe he'd be better served by getting DFAd and latching on to a team not in the race that can afford to give him more playing time... like the Orioles or the Pirates or Indians.
  15. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) It's funny because that "gem" showed just how awkward he is in RF. He took basically the worst route imaginable to get to that ball. I saw that play and I thought "Wow... he's going to get himself killed out there". It was a great catch, but did it need to be? Would a better right fielder have made that play a lot easier? I wonder how Quentin would react to being made the permanent DH? Maybe Jones gets DFAd and De Aza is made the starting right fielder with Quentin taking the DH spot...
  16. QUOTE (Cali @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 12:12 PM) Nope. It's a kind of obscure pull from Memorial Day 2008 against the Angels CQ hit's 2 Homers including a walk-off bomb on Sunday night on ESPN and that's what Joe Morgan called him Off of John Lackey. I remember that...
  17. QUOTE (balfanman @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:06 AM) I think that he very well could. The problem is, like Quentin, could he stay healthy doing it? Maybe it's time to DFA Jones and give him a try. I think he's doing alright in Charlotte.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 09:00 AM) Too soon to bat him 3rd and move Rios to 2nd or 5th? Maybe after Mr. Dunn/LaRoche/Fielder arrives..
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 08:35 AM) "What the hell is this blue? I only can wear black. Like my deep, seething anger." LOL this is signature worthy..
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 5, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) I would only approve of the deal if Kenny gets somebody like DeJesus. I wonder if Alejandro De Aza could put up DeJesus-like numbers if he was given enough playing time in the majors...
  21. Q-rannosaurus Rex...
  22. Good God I'm glad he didn't hurt himself on that catch.
  23. Wow. At the beginning of the season, who would have thought this would actually be part of the discussion on this board?
