Why would anyone think Carlton Fisk would make a good manager in 2022? He’s 74 years old and hasn’t been around the game since he retired in 1993. The last time I heard anything about him in the news was when he caught drunk and sleeping behind the wheel of his pickup truck in a field in New Lenox.
Nope. And when he get tired of managing, he’ll be moved into Kenny William’s position in the front office and will still have power over the Hahn and the team. He will keep that position until he or JR dies.
Honestly I wouldn’t mind going though another rebuild. Tickets will be cheap and it’ll be easy to get to the games. Plus you have a sense of optimism about the future during a rebuild. I don’t feel optimistic at all about the team as it is currently constructed.
I still say that this team would be just as good if not better with Rick Renteria as manager. There is no reason for TLR to be here other than to ease JR's guilt for letting him be fired in 86.
I'll be ecstatic when he finally goes home and has nothing else to do with the White Sox.
Yep. I think TLR wants to win one for his buddy and re retire. I don’t think he expected to be in this for the long haul. He looks exhausted after games.
This doesn’t surprise me at all. I’m surprised it didn’t happen last year. I’ve been waiting on it since 2020 when he didn’t go longer in game 3 of the Oakland series.
This reminds me a lot of the Zach Wheeler situation where the Sox offered more money and he still went elsewhere. It seems like players don't want to play here.
I don't see how you can win anything with only 2 outfielders who are good defensively on your roster. And one of those two is injury prone. And how long is Luis Robert going to hold up if he's trying to make up for the bad defense on either side of him?
