  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 3, 2010 -> 01:46 PM) Yes, giving up on your 23-year old 1st rounder just over 100 PA's into his second season because he's hitting .211 makes perfect sense. For Adrian Gonzalez? If he signs a long term deal with the White Sox? Yeah it does. Glad you agree with me.
  2. QUOTE (JPN366 @ May 3, 2010 -> 01:36 PM) Doesn't that constitute Soxtalk blasphemy? Not when he's hitting .211 and trading him would mean Mr. Gonzalez would be wearing a White Sox jersey.
  3. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 3, 2010 -> 01:25 PM) 2 Gordons on one team? Can it be done? Maybe the other Gordon is on his way to San Diego...
  4. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 3, 2010 -> 01:09 PM) That would be fantastic. Too good to be true. Hey maybe not? Who knows... I would give them Viciedo and another body for that if they would take him..
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 3, 2010 -> 01:05 PM) Good question. The Royals have a great young core of arms coming up in their system, but each of them is one to two years away. They also have Eric Hosmer a 1b and Moustakas at 3b, making those positions less of a necessity. How about a package to pick up Alex Gordon AND Kila Ka'aihue? I think that would be sweet...
  6. Oh yeah.. Wouldn't it be nice if Pierre went 3 for 4 with some extra base hits and stolen bases in front of Pods? At least it'll quiet the fans a LITTLE..
  7. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 3, 2010 -> 10:59 AM) Rios should be back in the lineup today. Hopefully, that'll get us kicking. Maybe he'll go 3 for 4 with 2 bombs in honor of his new born kid
  8. Okay for real this time... Peavy dominates tonight. I'm talking 3 hit complete game shut out. I know I said it last time - when he gave up 5 runs in the first inning. But this time I mean it... I'm actually thinking about going to the game to see it. Is it supposed to rain?
  9. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ May 3, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) In the back of my mind I thought we traded for him and the site crashed because of overload of traffic. HAHAHA you know, that crossed my mind too. Wishful thinking...
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2010 -> 10:00 AM) Since we're not the ones signing the checks, is there anyone who will go on record and argue how/why trading Flowers/Hudson as well as Danks OR Morel for Gonzalez and THEN signing Edgar to a $200 million dollar, 8 year contract extension would make sense at this time and place? Who is Edgar?
  11. Holy sh*t... I am really really REALLY against so called Reality TV... but I'm going to be all over this. I just hope that the ball club has turned it around by the time MLB network starts airing the show.
  12. Maybe a bench clearing brawl is needed to fire the team up.
  13. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) I always wanted Carlton Fisk to manage this team some day...but that was quite a while back. I know he doesn't have any experience...but I can't think of a more commanding presence in the dugout. It was a pipe dream like 10 years ago... Dear God no... I would stop watching baseball.
  14. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 10:27 AM) And based on every other half of his career him being about how is playing now or better, what makes you believe that is the form to which he will revert back to? I don't know I just don't wanna see the bad Rios back again and have everyone here talking about how he has a bad contract and KW is an idiot for picking him up or how his contract is going to keep us from signing somebody else or blah blah blah. It's just nice to see Rios hitting for us.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 04:54 PM) Its power level is well over 9000. I see what you did there Vegeta. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 02:53 PM) So I posted this yesterday: Nothing has changed on that front but I have another fun fact: Juan Pierre is one of only two players in the game with at least 60 PA (Pierre has 84 PA) and no extra base hits, the other is Chris Coghlan. If Juan doesn't pick up an XBH sometime in the next 3 games it'll mark only the 3rd time in his career in which he's failed to pick up an XBH in a full month's worth of play. The other 2: April, 2002: .284/.371/.284/.655 (102 PA) Sept, 2000: .286/.339/.286/.625 (124 PA) April, 2010: .211/.268/.211/.479 (84 PA) Other players with only 1 XBH: Pierzynski (1 2B), Podsednik (1 2B), Borbon (1 3B), DeWitt (1 2B) I love Pierre, but something has to give. I'm sick and tired of those lil popcorn fart hits to the short stop. I'd hate to have to move Rios up there. I say leave him alone before he reverts back to the 2009 second half Alex Rios.

  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:14 PM) Does the "JFP" in the subtitle of the game thread stand for Jake f***ing Peavy? If so, is that said the same way Red Sox fans say Bucky f***ing Dent? QUOTE (jenks45monster @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 07:36 PM) JFPFS. This...
  18. Was CQ grimacing as he was rounding third, or is that just the way he looks?
  19. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) Imma have to agree with this. JFP is going to be on tonight. I'm sensing 8 innings / 3 hit shutout or something of that order. Feel free to kick me in the nuts whenever you feel like it.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 08:42 AM) I have a good feeling about Peavy inthis game. I think he gets back on track. Just need the offense to show up. Imma have to agree with this. JFP is going to be on tonight. I'm sensing 8 innings / 3 hit shutout or something of that order.
  21. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 12:12 PM) Meh, no thanks. I would rather take Lance Berkman since he will come much cheaper. Who would you be willing to give up for Berkman?
  22. I would think that it's never going to happen, but you never know with KW. I think if Fielder did come here and sign a long term deal, there would have to be something in his contract about his weight. That guy is huge. And he's young now... how long are those knees going to hold up under all that weight? He reminds me of Mo Vaughn with the Mets. Let the boston red cubs trade for and sign Fielder, then the White Sox would only have to compete with the Braves and the Mets for Adrian Gonzalez.
  23. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 27, 2010 -> 09:29 PM) I see Kotsay is in the tank or he sends Nix down and signs a free agent. Ozzie doesn't do that mind you it is up to KW. I am not so thrilled with this Pierre deal either, but can see giving him more time since he can steal bases Honestly, I really don't see how KW can fix this without blowing it up. If he could have signed or traded for a hitter he would have already done it by now. Who can he get? And who's going to sit if he does pull something off?
