Someone on Twitter said that the A’s are going to slash payroll even further and go with a low cost bare bones squad next year. I bet they look at Rick Renteria to replace Bob Melvin.

I think we gave up on him way too early. Sure he made mistakes and was injured often but I feel like he had a lot more learning and maturing in his future.

Hendriks says he doesn’t care what inning he pitches. Why not make him the set up man while Kimbel closes? If Kimbrel finds his groove as closer I bet you could get a haul for him at the trade deadline next year. Then you could slide Hendriks back into the closer role.
