  1. I really don't know what to say about this. I HATE so called "reality tv". But this?... And then I don't know if I WANT to know what really happens behind the scenes. Can we please just play some freaking baseball? Is it spring training yet? Screw it. I'll be watching...
  2. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 10:56 AM) And that team will be a Baseball team in North America. I don't usually do this, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it will definitely be a team in the midwest. Call me crazy, but I just got that feeling...
  3. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 09:53 AM) Having Kotsay and Damon's wives both in the stands makes me wish we held on to Scotty Pods so atleast we could win the hot-baseball-wives competition. I wonder if Damon's wife punched Schilling's wife in the face? That would make her even hotter...
  4. QUOTE (hogan873 @ Feb 18, 2010 -> 08:27 AM) That might be a Soxtalk first? Having the 1st post and the 1000th post? Eh... I doubt it. There are people on here with 26,000 posts. Go Steelmen.
  5. Wow... the first thread that I ever started that reached 1000 posts. SWEET!!!
  6. D WIZZLE FA SHIZZLE!!! Who knows... we might need an epic perfect game saving unbelieveable off the wall catch-fumble-catch!
  7. I don't know, but I'll be glad when Damon makes a decision. On one hand, I'll be glad to have his left handed bat in the line up. But on the other hand... if Damon is signed, there goes the option of adding another bat at the trade deadline.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 01:37 PM) I seriously doubt it would mean new announcers. If anything they would need to keep the existing guys to give the new station some credibility. Bring back John Rooney at all costs!!! Yeah I wish.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) Ugh, Mike North Good God no. The radio waves seem so much cleaner without mike north. I hope he goes away permanently. Hopefully he ends up in New York or someplace far away from here.
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 09:58 AM) Just watched that recently. Still as good as the 1st time I saw it. Not as good as "I don't want his face lookin at that face when he's throwing my dice... Put him in the f***in bathroom..."
  11. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 10:24 AM) I'd rather have Branyan then Delgado. Looks like Branyan to the Tribe. Branyan Has Offer From Indians By Ben Nicholson-Smith [February 16 at 10:19am CST] 10:19am: The Indians have an offer out to Branyan, though it's not clear whether it is for a major league deal, according to MLB.com's Anthony Castrovince. The club could platoon Branyan with Matt LaPorta, who has been cleared to resume baseball activities after undergoing surgeries on his left hip and left big toe. 7:59am: The Rays and Red Sox are in the mix for Russell Branyan, but neither one of those clubs has progressed as far as the Indians, according to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports. The Rays have "mild interest" in the 30-homer man and the Red Sox are keeping tabs on him even though they don't appear to have room for the slugger unless they trade Mike Lowell. The 33-year-old Branyan could play a variety of corner positions for the Indians, the club he broke in with in 1998. Branyan hit 31 homers and slugged .520 last year, but a slow second half and a back injury have limited interest in him this offseason. The Marlins aren't interested, though the Blue Jays could be. Where the hell is Jermaine Dye going to end up? Newark Bears? I hope he finds a job real soon...
  12. Why is Konerko called "Kong"? FORCED nicknames always sound silly... like somebody is trying too hard. Bacon is an example of a good nickname because it's funny how it came about (Ozzie's broken english)...
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Feb 13, 2010 -> 09:48 AM) That would indeed point to the Sox being Damon's team. I think he's coming. I think he would rather play here than Detroit. KW is probably just unwilling to play games with Boras and is patiently waiting on Damon to fall in his lap.
  14. I don't believe that the tigers are really offering 2 yrs 14 mil to Damon. I think this is just a big game of poker between KW, the tigers and boras. I think the tigers might even be intentionally bumping up the price for Damon just so the Sox have to pay more for him - and I wouldn't be surprised if KW is doing the same thing. This is all playing into Boras's hands.
  15. 24/25 Freaking ... Brian Anderson kept throwing me off too with the "NO WAY... NO WAY" comments with Rowand on Scotty Pod's game winning home run...
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 01:03 PM) I had no idea that the defensive numbers of either Hudson or Young were nearly that bad. I'm not concerned about the twins defensive prowess... I'm worried about them scoring a bazillion more runs than we will and about them getting clutch hits when they need them.
  17. Just trying to spark some baseball conversation... I'm sick of hearing about football and the Super Bowl (BTW - give me a World Series Game 7 over the Super Bowl anyday). What do you guys think? Are we really in trouble because of Orlando Hudson and the twinks? I'm still holding out hope for Damon or someone else to help us score some runs...
  18. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Feb 5, 2010 -> 05:19 PM) I agree, I think Liriano will be a lot better this year. Unfortunately, the Twins have to be the favorites at this point. I hate the Twins. MAN I hope KW makes a counter move... I hate the twins too and I won't be able to stand it if they beat us again.
  19. As much as it pains me to say this, I bet Adrian Gonzalez does end up with the red sox. We'll just have to hope that Viciedo or Flowers turns out to be a big bat like that in a year of 2 when they make it up here...
  20. Looks like the twins about to lock up Orlando Hudson. Should we be worried?
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 10:38 AM) Did he lose 30 lbs? If Alexei Ramirez loses 30lbs we won't be able to see him. He would vanish! QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 10:44 AM) and Greg Walker has been... oh wait, that won't work. All Walker needs to do is see Alexei swing the bat 5 times, right?
  22. I hope you're right Cubano. I like Alexei. I'd like to see him really solidify the Sox at SS. An all star appearance would be cool too
  23. I always thought that SABOTAGE by the Beastie Boys would be a cool song to walk out out to...
  24. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 29, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) Cub fans have always played up the "loveable losers" crap. So they get more attention. I used to work with a bunch of Cub fans and whenever we would argue about our teams, I would bring up 2005. The first thing out of their mouths was "Who cares about 2005 - people don't even remember who won the World Series that year!" They are always trying to downplay what happened in 2005. It really pissed me off when certain people in sports claimed that the most significant thing to happen in baseball in Chicago in the last decade wasn't the 2005 title, but BARTMAN?!?!
  25. This is just a reminder to us all that people still think of Chicago as a Cubs town. We're like second class citizens. That's alright though. I bet we win another World Series before they do.
