  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:39 AM) Do we want Matsui? Absolutely not. He's another base clogger. No more aging veterans on the downside of their careers. No yankee or red sox rejects. No thank you.
  2. QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 03:36 PM) Looks like the douche bag convention was in Philly last night. lol!!! Dude I'm here cracking up!!!
  3. I think I'd rather take a chance on Jeremy Hermida...
  4. NO!!! NO NO NO NO!!! I don't want another player on the downside of his career. It's like taking on the yanks left overs... like we're a second class city and team... It's like getting hand me downs from your older brother. NO! If he's not good enough for the yanks then he's not good enough for the Sox. I want Carl Crawford or another YOUNG stud still in his prime. Let Jesus Damon go grow out his hair on the northside!!! Okay my irrational rant is now over... Sorry I'm trippin a lil bit today...
  5. QUOTE (beck72 @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 04:06 PM) Hermida isn't the answer. Mark Kotsay is likely to outperform Hermida in 2010. The sox need a lefty bat who can also play above avg. defense. Might as well wait until Jordan Danks is ready than trade some talent for Hermida. If it's only Fields and Torres (well maybe not Torres, but another Lance Broadway-type of guy) that we would have to give up to get Hermida then I'm all for it.
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 09:14 AM) I think finding a DH should be way down the Sox list of Sox needs. Pitching and defense will take them a long way. The development of Beckham , Quentin being injury free , Rios showing signs of having a pulse and a deep bench would go a long way towards rotating the DH position among those on the 25 man roster. This would also give regulars decent amounts of rest in an age when they no longer have the use of uppers to get them through what is a long grind of a season. Isn't Kotsay considered a better defensive first baseman than Paulie? How about Paulie being the DH? I could see KW staying cheap and going that route. But We would miss Kotsay's value off of the bench. I just don't see the team spending a lot of money this year. I hope I'm wrong!
  7. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 29, 2009 -> 08:47 AM) If Im spending money to bring in a second basemen its for Hudson, no one else on the FA market is worth it. Hudson could probably be had too. Wasn't he benched by the Dodgers for the playoffs?
  8. This is an excellent debate. Would you rather wait for Getz to develop, or would you rather sign an aging vet like Polanco? I'm torn... I say which ever route gets the White Sox closer to the World Series in the next couple years while we have this outstanding pitching.
  9. 13/20. Not good. made the list? QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Oct 26, 2009 -> 12:23 AM) 12/20...kjshoe would punch me if he knew who I forgot. MHizzle85, Is that Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping in your avatar?
  10. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 03:34 PM) Yep. I've never been. Is it even worth it, or is it just a waste of money? Question and answer session? Is there anything said there that I won't pick up here?
  11. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 09:21 AM) They know exactly what they did. How long before Ozzie tells Jeanne Zalasko (sp?) she has a great face for radio. HAHAHAHAHA!!!! God this going to be good...
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 21, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) He has 22 homers in 1700+ minor league ABs. Eh... it's the beginning of the off season. A guy can dream, can't he? Besides, I'm not saying that he might hit that many home runs, I'm saying that maybe he'll have a breakout year in his own way (defense, good lead off hitter, speed, steals, OBP, clutch hits)...
  13. 2010 De Aza = 2008 Quentin??? That would be saaWEET!!
  14. So my question is why would the Marlins give up on him and place him on waivers??
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 27, 2009 -> 10:46 AM) Sox will go 79-83, finishing in 4th place. Tigers will win the AL Central. Surprises: Wise, Thome Disappointments: Fields, Floyd Wow... do you have a freaking crystal ball or something>
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 16, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) Every team that has signed him has thought this. They all thought it would be different. Seven teams later, it isn't. Its incredibly unlikely that somehow this time, in the same town where he already failed, would be the magic key. Eh... I would take him anyway if he didn't cost that much... It would be worth it to get rid if Rick White ERRR.. Scott Linebrink.
  17. I would love to have Bradley in a Sox uniform. Forget all of the naysayers... I believe that the guy would be motivated and could possibly return to his 2007 form. I hope Kenny goes and gets him...
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 11, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) An all L.A. area World Series maybe? I actually wouldn't mind seeing Joe Torre take the Dodgers back to NY and win it all. Torre seems like a class act.
  19. HAHAHAHA!!!! THE LITTLE MVP TROLL HIT A BLOOP TO THE SHORT STOP!!! GAME OVER!!!! SERIES OVER!!! SEASON OVER!!! Hey beantown, how does that kick to the nuts feel?? Now on to the next game to watch the yanks tea bag the twins in their sacred Hubert H Hunk a s*** dome....
  20. HAHAHA finally something good about this crappy season. I don't like the Angels, but I HATE the dead sox. HAHAHA they SUCK!!! Let's see Papelbon get out and do his Irish jig dance now, since he blew it out of his a**. Freaking phenomenal!!!
  21. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 7, 2009 -> 10:41 PM) is espn insider ever right? I doubt it. I don't know anyone who would ever PAY for ESPN Insider. I'm slowly but surely starting to hate ESPN. Mike and Mike and "The Herd" are unbearable....
  22. I watched the whole thing. Even though it was a phenomenal game, I still had a sick feeling in my stomach because the White Sox were sitting at home watching and not participating in the post season. Maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad had it not been 2 teams from our own division. But I HATE the fact that the twins and the tigers finished ahead of us. We had better be in the 2010 post season conversation… I hope like hell that Kenny gets it done. I freaking hate the twins with a passion. Like Laurence Holmes said on the Score last night – YANKEES IN TWO!!!
  23. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 12:18 PM) Walker will fix him right? ...and if we're playing the career numbers game with a guy who doesn't look the same before and after he signed a huge deal, it should be pointed out his career OPS+ is 101. A tick above average. Not worth $12 million per, and not worth it in RF where he'll eventually end up. Yeah because we all know that all KW has to do is dust off the ole time machine and go back and get the Ken Griffey Jr. of 1995 to play center field for us, right? I mean COME ON... how long have we been dying for a true center fielder? We finally get one and some of you guys are complaining like he's been here for years. Give the guy at least a full season. I believe the guy will mash for us next year. I'm still pumped about getting him.
