I don't understand the fascination with Brett Gardner here. He looks like he's 40 and seems like he'll fall apart the minute he leaves the Yankees.

Correct. I'm thinking Puig. Big name that you won't have to pay a lot for that allows the team to say that they're serious about spending money and competing. Rich Hill will be the veteran who'll anchor the pitching staff.

I think if you absolutely cannot deal with Tim Anderson at SS, then you trade him. I think moving him to the outfield severely hampers his development. I also believe that he will become a perennial all star if you trade him. Remember when he said something about how he wasn’t really developed when he was in the minors? Imagine him going to a team with a strong coaching system. He has a lot of talent get to be unlocked.

I can’t remember the last time I felt this optimistic on the last day of the season. I can’t wait until spring training. I just want our team to be relevant again.

I just have a hard time believing that Steven Strasburg would come to the White Sox. Gerrit Cole is a pipe dream. I think the White Sox would have to outbid potential suitors by a country mile to get them to come here and I just don't see JR approving that.

How would you guys feel about trading for Heyward to play in RF next year? I don't think he'd cost that much prospect-wise since he's still owed a ton of money. Isn't he still an elite RFer?

I’m afraid that’s what will happen. JR will sign some mid-level vets to make it seem like he’s spending money. We might improve 5 or so games in 2020 while waiting on the kids to develop.
