QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:03 AM) Pujols to the Angels...done? (according to a few major Twitter sources) Holy sh*t the Angels DID get Pujols...

QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) Sounds like CJ Wilson might pull the trigger for the Marlins soon. I'll be very surprised if the Rangers don't go hard after Danks. Wouldn't that mean that the Rangers would be more likely to give up more talent now than they would have been before Wilson signed with the Marlins? I applaud KW for holding steady and "asking for the moon".

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:07 PM) Oh yeah, I forgot, oops. Was more of a sarcastic trade proposal anyway. Maybe they'll include Konerko in any trade request. I could see it happening. Why keep him around if the team is rebuilding. Plus it seems like Dunn really needs to play somewhere in the field if there is any hope of salvaging his career with a bounce back year.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) Hudson, Allen, C. Young for Danks, Floyd, Thornton??? Deal. Brandon Allen? He's not there anymore. They gave up on him.
-
The Diamondbacks are willing to trade prospects. Good trade partners for the White Sox? Maybe they'll send some of their prospects for Danks, Floyd or Thornton.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:17 PM) If KW wants to unload those guys, he will have no problem doing so. He's asking for the moon right now. And he should ask for the moon and the sun too. Would everyone feel better if he gave them away for nothing? That's how negotiations go. Start high and work from a position of strength. Who knows... maybe a team will get desperate and give up something very good.

QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) So Kenny comes to the meetings late, and is leaving early? Great... Come on man... it's not like the guy has to physically be there to make a deal. If something comes up I'm sure he'll be all over it.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) Yeah, tattoos make a person badass. His tattoos alone prove he's capable of kicking Christian Bale's ass LOL funny guy...
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 01:53 PM) You cried on a show. Goodbye. He was a bad ass. Plus his pitching arm is covered in tattoos, so that nullifies the crying on a show.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 11:07 AM) Really good dude. he's done well for himself on beating the odds when he was once a failed position player (not to mention has a very hot wife. ). Best of luck in Toronto Sergio. My sentiments exactly. Good dude.

Buehrle Signs with Marlins | 4 yrs $58 mil

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:45 PM) Call me crazy, but it really isn't a leap of faith to say this team could contend. If you give that Dunn returns to normal, it's nowhere close to a leap. If we do lose all of Buehrle, Floyd, Danks - pitching would take a leap to believe in though. Hey Crazy, stop being crazy. Ha I'm just kidding. I too think they can contend. Well I HOPE they can contend. I don't think KW has even gotten started and this team will look a lot different by the time spring training rolls around. -
Buehrle Signs with Marlins | 4 yrs $58 mil

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 07:59 PM) Honestly, I really don't give a s*** about the Royals, Pirates and what they've done the last two decades. The Sox have been throwing s*** against the wall for half a decade now and here we are. No farm and terrible contracts all over the place. The game was moving in a different direction and the Sox failed to adapt. What the hell is the difference between 65-70 wins and 75-80 wins? What? You were technically "in it" a month longer? Say what you will about the Cubs, but at least they have a plan now. Time will tell if they can execute it. Honestly, I'm afraid if Mark signs here that KW will use that as an excuse to bring back CQ, Danks, etc. I can see it now - "Hey, we didn't bring back Mr. Buehrle to throw in the towel for 2012.' f*** that. The Cardinals barely made it to the playoffs, got hot and won it all. The Sox had the talent to do something similar. It just didn't pan out. I see what you're saying, but still it could have been done. -
LOL Konerko said he was slow in the Little Leagues. Speed is not one of his strong suits.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 05:56 PM) My guess is Konerko I wouldn't doubt it. To be truthful, I wouldn't blame the guy either. He's getting long in the tooth and I know he wants to get a chance for one more ring before he retires. Well if that's true then maybe Alonso IS on his way here. But he's not good defensively? That's no good.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 05:50 PM) cst_Cowley cst_Cowley Most interesting thing I heard today is there is a Sox vet who would like to be traded if KW starts trading proven players for potential. 1 minute ago Favorite Retweet Reply My guess is Peavy if this isn't typical Cowley bunk. Didn't Peavy actually come out and say that he didn't want to be a part of a rebuilding process before the beginning of last season?

Maybe the Reds want Dunn back. Maybe not.

NEWSFLASH: Ex-Sox Santo elected to Hall of Fame

QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 02:00 PM) I saw him play, and with all due regard to Josh Fields, Santo was the best thirdbaseman that played in Chicago in my lifetime. Herbert Perry says hello. -

So does Minnie Minoso get another shot next year or was this a one shot deal? -
QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 09:37 AM) Lets hope that Minny makes the HOF today, the announcement will becoming shortly.. Ron Santo is in. That's really a shame. I'm no Cubs fan, but they should have let the guy in while he was alive.

Sox have not talked to Danks about extension this winter
chetkincaid replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) Sweet jesus. 100 losses, easy. Though I doubt Floyd and Danks will be traded. ...100 losses and an empty stadium. -
As long as they get something very good back for him...

QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Nov 25, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) No single player is keeping Fans going to the park.. Winning is. The Sox don't win, fans stay home. And with Theo and the brass on the NorthSide, I think the Sox have a 3-4 year window to right this sinking ship, after that.. Theo lead Cubs winning teams, the Sox don't stand a chance. I'm not saying that the Sox shouldn't trade Konerko. I'm just saying that trading him would alienate a lot of fans. And like I've said before, I'm not all that certain that the golden boy on the north side is going to bring them a championship during his reign. He might make them better, and bring them publicity...but winning it all? I wouldn't bet on it.
-
QUOTE (Wanne @ Nov 25, 2011 -> 12:31 AM) I don't get the Alonso love unless we deal Paulie...that's the only way this makes sense With no Konerko or Buehrle, U.S. Cellular field would be empty next year. That is the problem. And add to that the departure of media friendly (ha) Ozzie, the addition of the much quieter Robin Ventura, plus a resurgence of a Theo Epstein - led Cubs, and the White Sox will be almost forgotten about by the general population.

Man breaks into KW's house, defrosts lobster
chetkincaid replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 06:30 PM) I know we shoot comments back and forth but somebody getting their house broke into just ain't funny. Feel sorry for KW and his family. I'm about the biggest KW supporter and backer on this board, but come on man... Feel sorry for him? I'm sure that KW has enough in the bank to replace anything that would have been taken (except maybe for the WS ring). Hell I'm sure he can afford to get some sort of security to ensure that this never happens again. Now I'd feel sorry for the family living check to check if they were robbed. I understand where you're coming from though. I've had my apartment broken in to before and let me tell you, your home is never the same after that. Fortunately, I could afford to move. KW sure as hell can afford to move or make his place safer. There are a lot of people out there who can't. I feel sorry for them.
