  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) Alcoholics Anon Anthony Anderson Naw really Alex Anthopoulos - Blue Jays GM.
  2. I'm keeping John Danks before I keep Buehrle. Youth wins out.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 10:24 AM) Dear Adam, Please go all out and work your ass off over the winter, amd come back ready for spring training. But if you still suck by the time June 2012 comes around, then... Please retire Fixed
  4. Why would Jeff Cox know who is going to be the new manager? I think if he said that then he was just guessing like the rest of us. I wouldn't be surprised if KW came up with someone out of nowhere that no one saw coming.
  5. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 11:17 AM) Let's see: Ozzie - GONE Walker - GONE Pierre - Probably Gone Teahen - Long Gone. If Rios and Dunn return to decency, who are we going to b*tch about next year? There's got to be somebody. There will still be plenty of b****ing about Kenny Williams. I guarantee that some people will b**** about KW even if the Sox win the AL Central going away next year.
  6. Boston Red Cubs bench coach Demarlo Hale a candidate? He's from Chicago. Hmmm...
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) He's the only guy we could hire (that I can think of) which would be worthy of getting pissed off about. That would be a disaster IMO. As close to status quo as possible. If they hired LaRussa, I'd be taking a bat to something ala Rios and "his good swings in the dugout".
  8. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 09:16 AM) Think we would all love to see that, but not going to happen. This team is clearly heading into a rebuilding phase and it will be tough to recruit Martinez IMO. Think your odds here are pretty spot-on and think unfortunately we will end-up with a milktoast manager like Alomar to oversee the rough patch for the next 2-3 years ... Alomar just sounds/feels like a Jerry hire, doesn't he? Better Alomar Jr. than LaRussa or Buddy Bell. Actually I'd be alright with Sandy Alomar Jr.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 11:07 PM) 1.) I assume you are kidding about Buehrle. What's not to like about him? I never know if anybody is being sarcastic anymore on the board. I love Buehrle. 2.) That's what I thought. I don't understand your second question. It's good that you love him, but I can't stand him. No sarcasm at all. But I don't want to waste an Ozzie Guillen thread on Mark f***ing Buehrle, so I won't mention him anymore. I wonder of Ozzie was serious about his coaches not following him...
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) Sarcasm? The more I think about it, the more I'm pissed at Ozzie for overshadowing Buehrle's probable last start tomorrow with the Sox. Not at all. I can't stand either one of them.
  11. I hope to God that tomorrow is the last day for Mark and Jaime Buehrle too.
  12. QUOTE (Allsox @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 10:38 PM) Holy hell, is KW just piling on the dirt on Ozzie's grave. Paraphrasing: "We had the warnings, we have select candidates." Weird, weird conference by Kenny. No he isn't piling on. What the hell are you talking about? He is simply saying that there were warnings that the relationship wouldn't work any further. Hell Ozzie said it himself. This was Ozzie's choice. He choose to leave. Kenny Williams said that he wasn't going to fire Ozzie.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) Today, is a sad day. Ozzie resigning should be sad, it's a good baseball move, but I'm saddened by it. The man is responsible for some of the happiest moments of my life and also some of the most frustrating. But those joyous ones will always be with me. It's sad that the situation deteriorated to the point where the greatest manager in Sox history, became a parody and shadow of himself, obsessed with Ozzieball, imposing his will, and sustaining a senseless pissing contest. And his son didn't help at all. But despite all that, here's to you Ozzie, it was a hell of a few years and then it was hell for a few years. But most importantly, the good memories, they'll always stay. Post of the night. Two thumbs up.
  14. Somebody better check on Greg and make sure he didn't off himself tonight.
  15. This is a good night for baseball. The Sox manager news plus the Rays winning and the epic collapse by the Boston Red Cubs made me forget that that overhyped annoying other sport is on ESPN right now. I hate both of those teams playing too.
  16. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 09:23 PM) I hate that Dan Bernstein was all over this. He rags on baseball being boring, and he never goes to the games. He'll be puffy chested tomorrow. No he won't. He'll be talking all day about how bad the bears offensive line is and insulting callers like a teenager and telling them that they don't have a right to an opinion that is different from his own. I wish he would go to Florida too.
  17. QUOTE (danman31 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 09:23 PM) Something is wrong with you. You may have disliked Ozzie in the end of his tenure, but it's not worth getting this excited over. I can't feel hate towards the guy who managed a White Sox World Series. I feel sorry for you that you let more recent events make the most successful manager in franchise history a villain. Thanks. We all know that a change was probably needed, but fans should show some respect.
  18. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) NO, NO and NO HELL NO!!! I'd rather keep Ozzie than either of those guys.
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 09:03 PM) Not even if you paid me. Come on man. Just think... after tonight, you'll never ever have to complain about Ozzie again. I'm breaking out the 2005 World series DVDs tonight after the post game show.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 08:03 PM) Man we should all make this our avi for the next few days to show respect and appreciation for Ozzie Guillen.
  21. Man this is bittersweet news. It kinda sucks, but it's best for the team I suppose. I wish Ozzeroo success in Florida. I hate like hell that he could no longer make it work here.
  22. Hey I have a question about tonight's game. I'm actually thinking about going and my question is if I buy a ticket off of stubhub for a seat anywhere in the 100s section (like sect 127 row 35 or something like that) can I basically sit anywhere I want? I know I won't be able to sit in the scouts seats, but I'd like to move closer to the field and more toward home plate.
  23. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 24, 2011 -> 11:27 AM) I'm one of the bigger KW supporters here, and everyone knows it, so I for the most part just stay out of these threads. But by the criteria utilized by many here, there might be 4 GM's in the league that would ever last more than 2 seasons in their jobs. THANK YOU!!!
