  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 10:30 AM) I know it was a few years ago, but he sure wasn't when he tried it in Tampa. Control killed him. Really? I didn't know that. Oh well... Maybe Coop could fix him for the bullpen.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 10:27 AM) Somewhere, Scott Boras is sitting in an office and he just had an uncontrollable urge to burst into laughter. And he's not sure why. Maybe with such an up and down year he won't command that much on the FA market. Same with Danks. I know it's Boras, but it could happen - especially if Jackson is tired of moving and is happy with the White Sox.
  3. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 10:26 AM) As I've always said, that dude belongs in the bullpen for this team. He should be the one to go. I'd want to keep him as a starter, but I think he could be LIGHTS OUT in the bullpen with the stuff he has.
  4. Props to Edwin Jackson for stepping up and for being willing to do what's best for the team. I'd like to see the Sox re sign this guy and keep him around.
  5. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 31, 2011 -> 12:17 PM) Some of the comments about our players truly amaze me. Buerhle is probably the one guy you want out there with the last game of the season meaning a pennant or not. Balta is right on with this comment Not me. I'd take Edwin Jackson in a big game right now over Buehrle.
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 30, 2011 -> 11:45 PM) Where in the f*** has that been for the last two months? He's been busy trying to purge the closer role out of his system.
  7. A sweep of the redsox would do wonders for the team's confidence.
  8. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 30, 2011 -> 02:02 PM) Sale should go down and start, Bruney takes his spot. Danks to the pen until he figures it out, Marquis takes Harrell's spot. Two of Buehrle, Jackson, and Floyd are dealt. Sale returns in August to the rotation. Peavy, Danks, Humber, Buehrle?, Sale. Pretty good odds that will be your rotation going into 2012. Trade Buehrle now while he has some value and before he starts to suck again.
  9. Why is McPherson going back down? Is Teahen back?
  10. So Bautista is supposed to be HAPPY he popped up on the infield? STFU Danks and pitch. All due respect, but Hawk, you STFU too. How is that showing him up? s*** like that is the only thing I don't like about baseball - it's unwritten unnecessary arbitrary "rules". STFU and play better if you don't like it.
  11. Woke up... Said to myself "s*** I'm missing the game" ... Turned it on... Saw the score... Turned it back off... Going back to sleep. Now mad because my awesome rainy day nap was interrupted for nothing.
  12. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 28, 2011 -> 04:28 PM) Sox never win games like this. Floyd out of the pen was a mistake IMO. This team is full of bad luck this year.
  13. You could see his eye on that last replay. He just look like he was punched. It'll probably be closed and blackened, that's all. If DJ said that I'm sure he was kidding. Damn. Dunn couldn't score on that?
  14. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 27, 2011 -> 06:53 PM) Beckham hurt. Broken nose? Probably just a black eye. Hopefully just a black eye.
  15. I'm not one to be pessimistic about the Sox, but Adam Dunn f***ing sucks right now.
  16. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 26, 2011 -> 08:36 AM) If anybody lives in the NW burbs, check out Barleyhouse. Pretty good food, and awesome beer selections. They tend to have 10 or so good to great beers on draft, and have a weekly or monthly beer flight (can't remember which). You won't ever have to worry about having a Bud Light or Miller Light there. I don't know if it's been mentioned, but Two Brothers in Warrenville is also very nice. It's just hard as hell to find the place if you've never been there.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2011 -> 08:05 PM) The ghost of Jim Thome? That's a new one. lol. All Jim Thome did was sport a wOBA of .393 and provide 11 WAR in his time in Chicago. Which is pretty good considering he obviously didn't play the field. This offense doesn't suck because a HOF was great at what he was supposed to do. Probably cost us a playoff appearance last year in not having him. Plus that moonshot he hit against Thornton last year gave the Twins a shot in the arm.
