QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 02:04 PM) Gilbert Arenas guaranteed 50+ against the Blazers today. With 7 min to go in the 4th, he has 9 points, and is 3-14 from the field, 0-7 behind the arc. Nice one, jackass. OWNED. -

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 12:32 PM) Wisconsin missed on Jerry Smith who went to Lousiville. Im sure that the entire Wisconsin team is very saddened by that fact. Wisconsin also has lost Wesley Mathews to Marquette, and Wisconsin just has not been able to compete. Both Marquette and Louisville must be far better programs because they were able to take in-state talent away from Wisconsin... Honestly it gets damn annoying. I understand the reason why the KU fan has to hold dear to recruiting, because he has nothing else to talk about. But for the rest of us who enjoy realistic conversation, can you just keep it down. I wouldnt be squawking until the NCAA tourney when Kansas actually goes deeper than Illinois. Because last I checked there is no: "Best recruiting team championship trophy" -

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Feb 11, 2007 -> 11:20 AM) Stefon Hannah is a junior guard at Missouri putting up at least 12 a game...much better than "ill settle for a 3" Mcbride. Bashing McBride in an argument about recruiting makes no sense. -
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 8, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) I'm an ND fan, but wow is Weis ever talking out of both sides of his mouth/wants to have his cake and eat it too when it comes to recruiting. He's gonna get torched for this, and rightly so. Yup, it is really unbelievable. He is making a total ass of himself.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 10:31 PM) My first post should read new Core 2 Duo. Intel is releasing a brand new technology in April, which has many speculating that new MacBooks will be out in May/June to keep with the curve. So, I can't give you any official word if that is what you need. Sorry.. Nah, it doesn't matter if it's official or anything. Thanks for the info.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) If you get the macbook, spend the 200 bucks more and get the black one. The case will hold up better. The longer you wait on technology, the better the equipment will be that is always the thing. From a technology standpoint, these would be my best guesses. Currently the procs are dual core 64bit. I could see the possibility of quad core systems by next year in the laptop. 802.11n wireless standard built in. If you have a newer Macbook you can upgrade your wireless to support pre-n and N by a firmware upgrade that costs $1.99. Larger Sata hard drives, The only thing that would keep me waiting is to see if Apple would put a Blueray or HD-DVD drive in their systems. But nothing has been leaked about that. Basically you have to draw a line in the sand and say I need it at this point and then purchase it. When you buy it, pretty much you will see within 6 months a newer and better laptop out with new gizmos. Pretty much unless you are doing some state of the art math processing, or heavy duty graphics these systems will be powerful enough. I run password cracking programs on my system that run heavy math and my core duo macbook runs great. Definitely planning on black, God that thing looks sweet. How long have you had yours and how has it held up? Definitely recommended? QUOTE(3E8 @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 08:48 PM) Last I heard is that new Apple laptops will be here Q2 07' (with Core 2 Duo) so I guess you may as well just wait a few months. Any details or info on this? Thanks.

Not sure if this needed it's own thread or not, but I figured 'why the hell not?'. I have recently been considering buying a new laptop since mine is about 4-5 years old and really not so hot. I am in love with the MacBook, but what I am wondering is this...I know I am going to want a laptop going into college (I am only a junior in HS), would it be worth waiting for the advances in laptops over the next year and a half? It is more of a general question than anything, but I guess what I am asking is will the advances with regards to laptops and specifically Apple be worth waiting a year and a half for? I don't necessarily need one right now, but if they aren't going to be remarkably better I figured I might as well.

QUOTE(T R U @ Feb 6, 2007 -> 06:57 PM) I know this isn't an NFL thread but regardless.. the Texans shouldn't have taken Reggie Bush. Taking Williams was the right call for them. They need a defense desperately, and they already have a multi purpose running back in Domanick Williams if he is healthy which is the ONLY question about him. Reggie Bush would not have had the same season he had with the Saints if he was on the Texans, the OLine for the most part has been pretty poor and the defense is just atrocious. However, with Mario Williams and DeMeco Ryans being the first two picks of Kubiaks first draft they have made good strides in improving the D. Williams is a rookie already getting double teamed which, imo, helped Ryans out a TON with the massive amount of tackles he had in his rookie season as well. David Carr had a pretty good season despite his lack of TD's (68% comp, 82.1 rating) but again he didn't have Domanick back there who is a very good receiver out of the backfield. If they can get good offensive line play they are going to be fine offensively with Johnson, Carr, Moulds, Williams, Daniels.. but they need to build that defense especially with the Colts as the top team in that division. OWEN! Also, it's hard as s*** getting used to Domanick's name change. -

I assume everyone knows how I feel on this. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 10:38 PM) He doesn't need to be fast. Take a few stops outside the pocket, or step up into the pocket. Anything to buy some more time. It's really really hard to avoid a rush when you are not only slow as s*** but you are small as all hell. Peyton Manning is not fast, but he can avoid the rush because he is a GIANT.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 10:34 PM) Why not? Peyton Manning certainly did. He was a 100% pocket passer when he came into the NFL. How many plays did he make out of the pocket last night. Especially the throw across his body to Dallas Clark. Because Rex Grossman might lose a footrace to John Tait.
-
And I still need an explanation on the fumbles. How can a QB be so careless in the f***ing Super Bowl? Does that not tell you something about a player.
-
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 10:28 PM) And when Benson went down, the idea of running all over the Colts got shot to hell. And the Colts having approx. 14 men in the box didn't help said idea. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) And you don't feel Rex can improve upon those at the age of 26? No, he can't improve his mobility.

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 10:22 PM) Durant has 29 points and 12 boards, and Texas is still losing by 15. I know his supporting cast isn't the greatest, but they're not THAT bad. They are having a great offensive game, better than anyone has had vs. A&M all year. But just atrocious defense. -
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 5, 2007 -> 10:21 PM) I'm tired of hearing all this BS about Grossman. He's going to make mistakes. It's his 1st full year as a starter. He will only get better with experience. Why the lack of great strides as the season went on?
