QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 09:19 AM) Even if he takes Battier's role, he will still have a hard time getting more than 25 min of playing time. 25 MPG could be ideal for his current health status
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 26, 2012 -> 09:16 AM) I don't think he'll get more than 25 min of playing time there. They already have Battier, LeBron, Wade, and James Jones at the 2 and 3. James Jones ain't stealing tick from anyone.

Jonathan Givony @DraftExpress The Houston Rockets have traded Chase Budinger to Minnesota for the #18 pick. Confirmed. Houston now has: #14, #16, #18 and are believed to be making a push for Dwight.

If the Bulls do not move Luol Deng it is because they aired on the side of caution and wanted to hold on to him, not because a lack of interest from other organizations.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 25, 2012 -> 11:10 AM) Problem is...Deng's value right now is really hurt by the fact that he needs that wrist surgery post olympics to come back 100%. Either he comes into next season struggling with that injury or he misses the first month or two of the year. His injury is definitely a concern but compared to where his overall value is as a player, I don't see it being hampered too greatly by the health concerns. So many of these teams picking in the top half or so of the lottery could seemingly use a good SF with defense and leadership abilities. Bottom line it seems like quite a few teams have been engaging in trade talks for Deng, it's just a matter of if conservative Bulls (fall in love with their own players) management is willing to swing a deal.

The Bulls keeping status quo and making minimal adjustments to the roster this summer will put them in a difficult position to contend going forward, I really hope for once they show some aggression and re-tool this roster like it needs to be. Knowing Bulls management they will essentially blow up the bench replace it with rookies and continue to try to contend with this same core. The time to move Deng is now. 13.3M this coming year 14.4M the following year, value is pretty high right now. For a team in desperate need of a second scorer/creator we can't afford to be paying 28 million over the next two years for an intangible defensive spot up shooter who can't create his own shot. Other teams certainly value a guy like Deng and the Bulls scooping a lottery pick plus ideally some cap relief just makes too much sense. Naturally the Bulls will hold on to him while our current roster is not in a position to compete with Miami in the East and everyone notices how necessary a re-tool is.

Adam Hoge @AdamHogeCBS Philip Humber's injury is a "right elbow flexor strain". #WhiteSox

Chuck Garfien @ChuckGarfien White Sox place Philip Humber on the D-L. Designate Kosuke Fukudome for assignment. Bringing up Brian Bruney.

I read a tweet last night saying he told the grand jury initially that he was not abused so if he were to testify otherwise it could lead to perjury charges

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 01:34 AM) Mark Reynolds is the same type of hitter as Adam Dunn. You can't have two guy striking out 400 times in the middle of your lineup. When they are replacing Orlando Hudson I don't really give a damn what TYPE of hitter it is so long as they can occasionally positively impact the overall lineup rather than resembling a pitcher at the dish.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 10:02 AM) Apparently Perkins was playing with a torn groin muscle for the last 3 rounds of the playoffs. He probably should have been sitting his big ass on the bench then -

QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 09:43 AM) This. I think we put that whole team on a pedestal when in reality Kevin Durant is amazing and the rest are a notch or more below. I gotta disagree there. Westbrook has his limitations and stupid decisions but he's a f***ing beast and one of the premier young guards in the league right now -

I did not realize prior to this series that Scott Brooks was capable of such blatant stupidity as a coach. His insistence on using Kendrick Perkins despite the fact that I'm unsure if he contributed a single positive play in the entire Finals was mind blowing. Not too mention the stubbornness to stick with the double teams of LBJ despite the fact that he was dropping dimes for wide open 3s possession after possession. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 09:04 AM) What's funny about that is off the court, there's a good chance LeBron is a better person than MJ. That's what's great about sports, I could really give a rats ass and I'm sure many others are the same way. Not just in the MJ/Lebron scenario but with professional athletes in general. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 22, 2012 -> 08:39 AM) It's so funny to see fellow Bulls fans have so little understanding of how much of a dick Jordan was, just because he was ours, and then refuse to enjoy anything LeBron. I mean that's kind of how sports work, no? -
With the series being over a week away you won't find anywhere official at this point. Your best bet is to just look at the Rangers schedule and map their rotation out Right now ESPN lists: 22-Oswalt 23-Lewis 24-Harrison 25-Feldman 26-Darvish Which leaves 27-Oswalt 28-Lewis 29-Harrison 30-Feldman 1-Darvish So Darvish would miss the Sox

Gordon + Anthony Davis + 10th pick + good financial standing. Pretty good shape for that franchise, obviously a lot of work/development to be done but thats a nice start. -

Something I was thinking about last night: the difference between the Heat in this years finals and last years finals is extremely noticeable. The one year of Finals experience appears to have paid massive dividends. Every game of this series has been decided by crunch time execution where the Heat have been extremely solid and the Thunder have faltered. Bottom line...next year's finals between these two teams (with a vastly more mature OKC team) should be great. As they always say in the NBA every great team/dynasty has to experience agony before elation. It seemed as if OKC might be able to skip that phase after knocking off Dallas, LA, and the Spurs, but here we are with a team who took their lumps in the Finals last year executing in crunch time over a team in its first rodedo. -
Given that we have gotten an OPS of .460 from our starting 3B this year I would say that Mark Teahen would qualify as a pretty significant upgrade to our current situation.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 20, 2012 -> 08:49 AM) It is to the point where I'd rather see Escobar over there. I know he won't hit, but he will make all of the plays. When you are starting to strongly miss Brent Morel you know something has gone horribly wrong. Washington Nationals Picthers (AVG/OBP/SLG/OPS): .196 .222 .295 .517 White Sox Third Basemen (AVG/OBP/SLG/OPS): .165 .240 .219 .460

Orlando Hudson decided it was not enough to pop up with bases loaded 1 out and Wood completely unable to throw a strike. He had to make a bad error that led to the Cubs only run. And for his final act make the game ending out. Hats off O-Dog. I hope he hasn't been living up to his reputation as "MLBs biggest trash talker", because that would be pretty humiliating for him with the way hes playing baseball right now.

Absolutely incredible performance by Russell Westbrook. Complete bonehead play at the end should not overshadow how much he carried them last night, as the Thunder had a high chance of losing that game even without the foul. Westbrook's critics can shove it, the guy is an absolute beast and a guy where you just gotta take the good with the bad. So many clamor for a "pass first" PG for OKC, if they had one instead of Russ who the f*** would have put the ball in the hole for that team last night (besides Durant)? The Thunder role players have absolutely killed their chances. If James Harden could have provided even HALF of what Mario Chalmers did they win that game. Dude had about 4 passes straight to nobody, missed a fast break layup in the 4th and missed several open 3's throughout the game. KD and Russ just needed one guy to step up and score a few buckets and it never happened. Meanwhile Chalmers went off for 25 and provided the Heat with countless big scores. -
