2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
WHarris1 replied to southsider2k5's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I want JR Smith. He would be an excellent second creator on offense and would fill our offensive void at SG nicely. Character issues be damned, give me talent. -
This is all really fairly simply and being read way too far in to it seems. Could have been left at Jason's post.

5/9 of our lineup is a black hole, and we're only 4.5 games back
WHarris1 replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Even if Dunn starts hitting for just a decent amount of power, & Rios continues showing some semblence of a ML player, & Dayan possibly replaced Pierre this lineup would be really really scary. And no part of any of that is all that far fetched (except maybe Pierre getting benched, but who knows). With the way PK, CQ, AJP, and AR have played with just a little boost from Dunn and Rios the lineup would be pretty damn formidable. -
I would say that I agree with many things in this thread

The Bulls have an incredibly minimal amount of minutes available for rookies as it is especially if they acquire anyone else -

Asik is looking to be a far better player than not that good. Dude is epic on defense. Bulls weren't getting a starting 2, drafted a great talent. Top 10 by many. -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 07:20 PM) The only similarity with Sene and Biyombo is that they are both from Africa. Sene was drafted for his lean 7' size and 7' 8 wingspan. Biyombo is an even better athlete than Amar'e coming out of high school and already has an NBA body. At worst I think he will develop into Ben Wallace. That's assuming he makes no strides offensively as a supposed 18 year old. I wasn't comparing them simply came to mind because he literally amounted to nothing and I was trying to think or previous high potential African picks, but thanks -

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 10:31 AM) According to all the draft gurus, the international talent drops precipitously after this Mirotic. So that's why I would grab him at 28. In the second round, there really may not be any legitimate international players left. But your right, no way we draft three and have three dress this year. A guy I've seen them linked to a decent amount at 43 is Bojan Bogdanovic, don't really know s*** about him as international 2nd round prospects don't intrigue me all that much. -

You'd have to think there's no way the Bulls draft three players who will all be on the roster this upcoming season so an international pick is extremely likely if we keep all three picks. I'd say most likely at 43 but you never know. -

If the Bulls were to stay pat both Nolan Smith and JaJuan Johnson would be good picks who fit -
If only Adam Dunn would start f***ing hitting, man. Seems like Rios is starting to somewhat turn a corner, OPS up .46 from 2 weeks ago AVG up .17. AJ is pretty hot right now, PK/CQ/AR do their thing. If Beckham and Dunn would hit this thing would really be rolling.
-
Man talk about a thread that makes you wanna put your face through a wall. Good comparison 2k5. Seriously if Peavy or any pitcher showed disgust everytime AJ threw a God awful throw to second 1. That would be horses*** and people would be livid and 2. It would get f***in old from happening so often.

Thank you Morel. Good baserunning. You have to do whatever the f*** you can with Pierre on deck -
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) It's just this crusty old baseball logic of "well, it's the third inning...." So? Think, if other teams pitched around Konerko, Quentin and Alexi every game, whatever the situation, even if bases were loaded and walking those three brought in three runs. I'm confident we'd lose 3/4 of our remaining schedule. Strategy shouldn't just be left untouched until the 7th inning. If you know only two f***ing players can beat you, why go after them? For the purity of the game? LOL. And it's going to be difficult for Castro to steal any bases when there's someone in front of him. Tonight, I'm not confident of our chances because Konerko (albeit in limited ABs) seems to have a good grasp on Garza. He'll pitch around him, I'm fairly confident of that. And that's all I need to know to feel bad about our chances. I'm confused haha, I was in the camp that wouldn't have minded us pitching around him, especially a guy with such poor plate discipline. I can't tell if you agree or disagree

In fair he was batting ahead of one of the worst hitters in baseball

Turning Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Marc Gasol and a couple picks into Pau Gasol, winning a couple rings, then turning Paul Gasol into Kevin Love and Derrick Williams (or whoever), would be pretty epic. On just about the same level as turning Gio Gonzalez into Nick Swisher then turning Nick Swisher into Jeff Marquez and him returning to the Yankees. -
Yes. How the hell do you let such a good contact hitter beat you in that situation when I'm pretty sure Blake Dewitt was on deck. And this is not hindsight, I was making this opinion quite clear at the game.

Marlins interested in Ozzie Guillen (again)
WHarris1 replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:11 AM) I personally favor KW more, but both should probably go. The worst scenario would be to keep Ozzie and fire KW. Agreed with this entire statement. Ideally if we miss the playoffs both should be gone, but retaining Ozzie and firing Kenny would be absoutely atrocious. Think how many Juan Pierre's and Mark Kotsay's we'd have running around. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:01 AM) He's another guy who ought to be a lot better than he is. Hell yes. I'm shocked that his name was not mentioned. For a guy with that type of size/athleticism and an awful J, to be hoisting deep shot after deep shot is obscene
