QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 11:44 PM) I never know which stance to take on Jones, but I'm going to side with DBaho. He really isn't that great of halfback. I'm not really sure what to make of TJ but... 4.0 YPC, 67 Y/G, 7 TD's really isn't that bad for running behind the worst line in the NFL, which is now much improved. He can also catch the ball out of the backfield damn well. I say we give him a shot behind a respectable OL this year and see what happens.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) No suprise there. My guess is the Bears will cave in at the end of the pre-season after they see how bad their offense is. I'm not so sure about that, what I do know is that Benson does not want to go back in the draft, and if he does he is sorely mistaken.

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) You dont know anything, I MEAN ANYTHING, about Football. You have no right to say that about ANYONE

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) Thomas Jones is NOT a starting running back in this league. He is a slasher, the Bears want a power runner for Ron Turner's offense. He hasn't shown he can be durable for a whole season, and only had 4 games last year where he rushed for over 100 yards. He's going to need to double that this year if he's startin, which I can't see happenin. For the line they trotted out their last year TJ was more than decent.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) When was the last time the Bears paid a top 5 pick? Didn't they trade down from the 4 spot to the Jets to get Haynes and Rex a couple of years back too? It's all good in saying the Bears pay for players, but those guys are established, Benson is a rookie and has proven nothing yet. So it's wrong of them to pay proven vets and not inexperienced rooks?

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) shouldn't i go with Belicheck. I mean he is the best IMHO. yes

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) Garza more than solid?!!?!?!?! A 295 Lb. Guard with no ACL isnt more than Solid. Fred Miller is solid. No more, No Less. Our OLine got a little bit better, Our WR corps when from Dead-Last to Tied-for-Last. Still no QB, and now he have no Power Runner. Were back to where we were last year. Um...let's see... -Tillman -Urlacher -Moose -Wale? -Zoom? We are drastically better than last year anyway you and your blinded Angelo hate wanna slice it.
-
QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) Yes we do. Good Defense... No Offense. No it's obviously not the same when you add 4 more than solid players.
-
Not Benson... You said we had the same team...
-
QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) ANGELO NEEDS TO OFFER MORE. Were desperate to win, and desperate times call for desperate measures. Give him what he wants. WE CANNOT WASTE A PICK LIKE THIS. :banghead YA LETS OFFER MORE CRIPPLING US FOR YEARS TO COME SO WE CANNOT RESIGN GUYS LIKE BRIGGS AND ZOOM
-
QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 03:18 PM) Were the same team we were last year without Benson. Except of course you add Miller, Garza, Bradley, Moose, Urlacher, Zoom, healthy Wale, Mike Brown, and Tillman...
-
QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) THEN WHY DONT THEY PAY BENSON?!?!?!?! HE'LL SHELL OUT HUGE DOUGH FOR A 32 YEAR OLD WR BUT NOT A YOUNG HB WHO'S AUTOMATIC IN THE RED ZONE? THEY ARE f***ING PAYING BENSON IS THAT HARD TO f***ING UNDERSTAND? Let's see, Benson is the 4th pick, that's between 3 and 5 right? Ok so he should get paid between 3 and 5, WHICH IS WHAT ANGELO IS f***ING OFFERING
-
QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 03:15 PM) The chances of us winning without Benson are 0.00. With Benson we stand a chance, I dont how much moeny it costs... If we cant win this year (or at least show improvemnet) we'll have to start rebuilding again, and probably means the eventual departure of Briggs and Tillman. The difference between Jones and Benson is not enough to change the entire season.
-
Last years #4 pick was a QB, they are paid differently. Benson needs money between this years 3 and 5, that's what's been offered. False. Moose? Tait? Miller? Wale?
-
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) Ugh....I think you picked the wrong side of this argument... The bears are and have been a lot of different things of late but one of them they have not been lately is cheap. They have shelled out money for big free agents (Mushin, Tait) and have gotten their picks in camp. To quote Mulligan

QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) JUST COUGH UP THE f***ING DOUGH JERRY. JUST f***ING PAY HIM, WE NEED HIM NOW, IF YOU DONT GET THIS DONE YOURE JOB IS GONE. QUIT TRYING TO BE A f***ING HARDASS WHEN WE KNOW YOURE f***ING SPINELESS. IM GONNA GO f***ING MAD. You're completely wrong on this. Angelo has not done a damn thing wrong Benson and Parker are f***ing morons.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 08:44 AM) I'm loving having a running back in Julius Jones right now. It's really quite funny if you're not a Bears fan at the moment. No one cares

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 18, 2005 -> 01:50 AM) Any chance that Todd Helton cleared waivers or was placed on waivers? I was gonna ask something about Helton on a different note. He's having a good year and all but wtf happend to his power?

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) Centerfield is horribe, hr's batters eye, etc. Bad design, they will hit even less hr's in that park. I have a sneaking suspicion that they will fix it up with a serviceable batters eye.
