Mendenhall now ranks 5th in the NCAA in rushing yards, with a better YPC than anyone above him and better than anyone within 10 below him. He is also 2nd in rushing TDs with more receiving TDs than anyone tied or ahead of him. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 09:29 PM) So, who's your pick for player that we most like on the Dbacks this series, and the player that pisses us off? My pick is Juan Cruz for player we like, and Mark Reynolds for player we hate. Chris Young for player I want to make love to.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 07:44 PM) And so if I add in plays that Wisconsin should have made because of poor reads by the QB, can we change the score? When you score points, you dont need to score more points. Thats what people dont seem to understand about programs like OSU. If they have a lead, they dont play the same way that they might have before because they want to shorten the game because at the end all that matters is the W. Wisconsin gave up 34 to MSU, plenty of that were on a few plays with horrible tackles. If those plays dont count, then yesterday is a blow out. But everything does count, and Wisconsin's special teams is going to be playing against the Illini, as well as their defense. So I dont see how that is irrelevant to a discussion about how many points Illinois has given up. You are honestly comparing missed reads and missed tackles to counting fumble and punt returns TDs against a teams defense? It is not irrelevant to a discussion on Wisconsin vs. Illinois, but it is certainly irrelevant when discussing the DEFENSE. Do you realize you are counting a 100 yard fumble return in your argument against the Illinois DEFENSE? -

Well when you take those out that would be Mizzou's lowest scoring output of the season... -

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 10:27 PM) Because Lovie went out and said that he is going to give Brian an ample chance. Once he did that it would come off poorly, imo, for him to make a quick pull as it could lead to people in the lockeroom start questioning things. That I can understand. I was thinking he was saying because Rex would not be able to handle it as many people have said in the past.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 08:23 PM) You and I always get along well.....but were you of the opinion that you wanted to see Griese? I can't recall what position you were taking after the Cowboys game. I do not think Griese is a starting caliber QB, nor do I think he is the solution for the Bears. BUT, I had no problem with the decision to switch because it was worth a shot to spark the team. It seemed like it had gotten to the point where a move just had to be made, even if just for the short-term. Maybe with a couple of weeks off Rex can clear his head, and come back sharp.

QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 08:22 PM) It was amazing how much criticism he received when there's been so many other players playing just as bad. I repeat, Bernard Berrian has played the worst out of anyone on this team (in terms of dropping critical passes and bad route running). Cedric Benson was far more responsible for the game-changing turnovers in the games Rex played in as well (which I know you'll agree with). The back-up QB is always the most popular player in town, and now the Bears are in a situation where they basically have to stick with Griese. Why are the Bears in a position where they have to stick with Griese?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) I might take some criticism for this, but the Bears fans should be ashamed of themselves for how they've treated Rex this year. Oh good God.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Sep 30, 2007 -> 07:01 PM) Are you kidding me. Griese was f***ing horrible today. He showed why he isn't any good. He can't make quite a few "NFL" passes. He can't throw an out pattern to save his life, can't throw a deep ball and the only pass he can throw are screens and short passes to the wideouts as well as the ocassional crossing pattern 15-25 yards down the field (and even than his lack of arm strenght causes there to be more time for a CB/Safety to close on the WR potentially making a hit that jarrs the ball lose and causes a completion to be incomplete. Hell, he wasn't even accurate on short crossing patterns (hence at least one of the interceptions). Maybe if you read when that was posted you wouldn't have to freak? In the mid to late 2nd quarter our passing game absolutely looked better than it has all year, don't bother arguing it didn't. Leading up to that INT right before the half Griese was looking good.
