  1. I'm guessing they're going to work with him in Schaumburg on how to approach being a reliever etc., and then we see him back up in a week or so in that role.
  2. Ideally, I'd like to see him batting 3rd with Grandal going to 6th. So yes, probably 8th.
  3. Question for the resident writers that have had access to Schaumburg in the past: does the media still have access to attend games/practices there to see what's going on, or was that limited to a few nights? I'm curious to know if anyone has seen/heard of Vaughn being given a shot in RF just to see if that's an option the Sox are even considering.
  4. I actually like Rodon to turn into the Drew Pomeranz mold: former top LHP prospect ranking, never put it all together as a starter, finds success in a relief role
  5. While Luis is winning the defensive metrics on paper, Kyle Lewis has also made the highlights for robbing home runs this year so he's got that flashy appeal right now. Robert's "highlights" have been stealing balls out of position, more a product of him being so good/fast. I agree that Robert looks to have superior defensive ability, just feel like Kyle Lewis shouldn't be sold sort on his highlights. It's more of a "makes things look easy" vs. "makes things look harder than they should" argument, and the casual viewer will be more impressed by those "difficult" plays rather than seeing Robert somehow catching a pop-up behind homeplate or something crazy with his range and speed.
  6. I like the matchups of Mendick and Madrigal against Hill tonight. Feel like they'll both have chances to slap it the other way or drive it up the middle a few times tonight.
  7. Almost feel like the "Rodon coming back" and this "Bummer not coming back" threads will be combined into one once Rodon moves into the pen in a lefty reliever role.
  8. TR Sullivan says Gallo and Lynn are staying in Texas.
  9. He even stressed it on MLBN just now - "the Dodgers have NOT (important word in there) acquired Lance Lynn." with a smirk
  10. Sames. Who's got the gamethread honors today?
  11. Agreed, and I'm thinking it's Corbin Burnes. Engel as a throw-in piece makes sense with them trotting out to CF everyday.
  12. I'm kind of ok with having the Lynn rumors in their own thread because I want nothing to do with him, so I can just avoid the nonsense of that thread entirely.
  13. I'm sorry, our top 4 starting pitching prospects involved in one trade, and it's not for deGrom++? No thank you.
  14. This is a good use of Twitter, I support it
  15. Shhhh, don't tell them that. Did he hit a 500 foot HR off of any of their pitchers last year too? Maybe we can just send them that video and convince them how good he is.
  16. As I thought more about my own question, I don't want him anymore either. The length of commitment with uncertainty is a consideration, and I also don't want to be responsible for letting the Red Sox off the hook on this contract and giving them payroll flexibility.
  17. Red Sox reportedly willing to take on salary to move players like JDM and Eovaldi. Eovaldi is owed $17M in 2021 and 2022. He's dealing with a calf issue right now, but anyone see possible interest there?
  18. These trade props I see for Lynn (from both Sox AND Rangers fans' perspectives) are borderline ludicrous. I've never seen different fanbases value the same player so wildly differently. Rangers fans think they're getting some unlucky franchise's top 4 prospects, and I just hope it won't be us. I'll very interested to see what Texas finally gets for him and wait to see their fans' reactions ?☕
  19. While this may be the case for most of our pitchers, isn't this exactly what Fulmer complained about, saying he wanted to go back to how he pitched in college? Seemed like he was pretty vocal about the changes that were made on his delivery that he didn't like, and now he's a prominent 1st rd bust as a result*.
