  1. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 03:14 PM) Seriously??? I'll let Nick Cage take this one for me....
  2. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Aug 2, 2011 -> 10:58 AM) I am trying to figure out how the USS Defiant crashed in the Baltic. I was actually thinking of the book/movie Sphere when I first read this article.
  3. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 05:01 PM) That was spot on. I thought he should have been pulled in the middle of the inning for that play. No one knows what is going through a man's head and Guillen alludes that Rios is taking every at bat to the field with him, but whether it is because he doesn't care or cares WAY too much, the response should probably be the same, bench him. Pull him aside after the game in private and let him know how much you care about him but that his mind is not in the right place, it is hurting the team in many ways beyond just his poor performance, and he is going to get some time extended time off. Put in De Aza and see how good of a teammate Rios can be from the bench. Great post; well articulated.
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 04:50 PM) http://twitter.com/#!/Oneyguillen/stat...874889578512385 http://twitter.com/#!/Oneyguillen/stat...874696263041024 http://twitter.com/#!/Oneyguillen/stat...877475526328321 Here are the tweets from that ass hole. Holy s***. You do not say that about another man's wife. Beyond words.
  5. QUOTE (SnB @ Aug 1, 2011 -> 11:24 AM) and the countdown to Ozzie's offensive reaction to that begins. Wow. I am so dense. I saw that tweet last night and we definitely taken aback but it didn't click that he was making a jab at the Guillen's. That makes COMPLETE sense now.
  6. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 04:18 PM) It's awesome how on edge everyone is and how any random tweet can generate excitement. The trade deadline is the f***ing best, no matter what. This. I've been on edge for days, just glued to what everyone is saying. Love it. I was thinking about how this trade deadline is so much more exciting than last year (but it's also because we have so much uncertainty with the team's direction).
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 12:36 PM) If Dayan is healthy I honestly dont think we lose much by plugging him in RF when Q gets dealt. Ahem... You've been on the button so far, anything else you'd like to share?
  8. Peace out, Teahen! Interestingly enough, that $7 million on his contract can't buy him a plane ticket? http://lockerz.com/s/124408577
  9. Article from a week ago on Prometheus, the prequel/not-a-prequel to the Aliens franchise. Full article here. No actual footage (just a screenshot) but the description of the visuals sounds legit -
  10. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 01:11 PM) It's called At Bat '11 so i'm guessing I'll need a new one next year. But for someone like myself who always pays for MLB.tv, paying an additional $10 to be able to watch and listen to any game I want for an entire season on my cell phone is a no brainer. Plus it looks like you can get the radio feed even if you don't pay for the full MLB.tv regular package.
  11. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 01:03 PM) Just buy the app. It's $10. It's one million percent worth it. Welp, I went for it. Thanks for the help, guys.
  12. Does anyone know of an app for the Droid that I can listen to the game? I have an mlb.tv account but I don't want to spend the additional $10 to be able to use that on my phone (I don't really need the video, just the radio feed as I want it for when I'm driving). Any input?
  13. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 11:15 AM) I'd support a bit of a youth movement. If done right, it could be great for the franchise. "The Kids Can Play... Again."
  14. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 10:01 PM) Like Verlander is a tough righty and they want to keep Morel's attitude up? Its 50/50 Morel plays against Verlander, not sure that I agree with sitting him, but its not out of the realm of possibilities. I thought Morel was actually far better against righties this year?
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 08:52 PM) I still don't know what it is supposed to accomplish. Like Adam Dunn doesn't realize he sucks right now? But booing him all of the sudden he is going to go, "Damn, I didn't realize I was hitting .160, maybe I should quit striking out! Thanks for booing me, because I had no idea! It's not like that. When you're at work and you acknowledge you screwed something up and take responsibility, how does it feel when EVERYONE comes up and reminds you how you messed up? After the first few you can brush it off and be like "Yea, I know". But after a while it's like "f*** it, I know I f***ed up, get off it."
  16. It sounds like the crowd is booing Adam mid-AB on both strikes he took. I don't boo him myself but I understand why many people do after he gets out. But booing mid-AB is just beyond ridiculous. That's hating just to hate. I know the whole "he's a big-leaguer, he should be stronger than being affected by the crowd" but this is getting ridiculous. Let the guy play - he's here for the long haul so why go out of your way to boo him?
  17. NASCAR pre-race prayer Racing - heeeYAAAAHHH!!!
  18. Good news, everybody! Below is making his second career start so we should be fine, right?!
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 07:51 PM) So Captain America was pretty awesome. Also rented "Limitless", and that rocked. I watched Limitless the other night as well. I thought the concept was awesome. I loved the movie up until Overall, I walked away really enjoying this movie and did recommend it to a friend.
  20. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) Thought you all would be interested, an awesome new sports stat website just opened. The company is a NC based start-up called StatSheet, www.statsheet.com and they do some real interesting stuff. They've been focused on college sports the past few years, but have now branched out to MLB as well. Each team actually has an unique URL. The White Sox is http://chisoxdaily.com/ Look forward to hearing some feedback! I think it would be interesting to see how those that made their rankings of every player at the ASB to compare their rankings with this site's rankings. Looks like some neat stuff here.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 01:24 PM) Droopy and Christopher Walken made me LOL. For sure. Paul Giamatti was good; I don't think I've heard anyone give an impression of him before but he has a distinct delivery that lends itself to impressions.
  22. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) This guy is pretty solid. I honestly can't even pick which was my favorite; each was better than the last.
