    2021 Catch-All

For my RV roof I've always used Dicor lap sealant and/or Eternabond tape.

I also have 3 Samsung TVs and they have all been really good for me. I'd definitely recommend the brand to anyone.

    2021 Catch-All

I been using Samsung tablets for years. I loved my old one but it finally got to a point where I couldn't even update it or install any more apps on it because it simply ran out of space. It only had like 4GB. I didn't even have that many apps on it. It also wouldn't hold a charge for more than a day. It was like 10 years old though. My new one is a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7. I don't remember for sure how much storage I have on it. I think it might be 64GB. It works well for what I use it for which isn't all that much. Mostly web-browsing and maybe a game or 2.
  4. I saw a version of these at HS bowling tournaments all the time. Except they just the box part. They didn't have the weird plastic cup looking things sticking out. Most people would decorate them with the school colors. Pretty cool actually.
  5. That's a tough call. I blew the engine in a Pontiac Grand Prix about 10 years ago and had to get a new one put in. IIRC, cost me in the range of $4000. Luckily the car was paid off though. Drove it for a couple more years before I got a Hyundai Sonata that I put 150,000 miles on with no problems. I'd say stay away from Pontiac... ?
  6. I have no idea. I would assume they are to their FT employees? My point was more along the line of it being extremely difficult to get employers to raise the wages of their employees for any reason at all. It's why the fight for 15 has been going on for like 10 years now. Could many of them pay their employees that much? Probably. It might mean they only make $2.5 billion instead of $2.6 billion though. Will they though? Not likely. At least not without being dragged kicking and screaming into it.
  7. I've also noticed this year that Turbotax's "free" version isn't free if you have any sort of variation that makes your taxes not simple anymore. My foster brother had a bonus that he got a 1099-MSC for. Made it not free. Oldest daughter got a $19 payout from a retirement fund from when she worked at Little Caesar's. Made it not free. Youngest daughter added in expenses for college (mostly books). Made it not free. I'm thinking of having my youngest try out FreeTaxUSA instead. The state taxes we can do for free on the IL state website.
  8. Just did this with my youngest who turned 19 last year. She's in a unique situation where she didn't start her first job until 2020. So she didn't get either one of the stimulus checks last year. And we also didn't get to claim her as a dependent for the stimulus either. It only applied to dependents 16 or younger. She's in college now and if we claim her as a dependent, she doesn't get the stimulus money added on to her refund. So we didn't claim her and let her file as single so she can get it.

    2021 Catch-All

Yahoo stories rely way too much on tiktok videos and how the entire internet is "shook" when watching them.
  10. It's really weird how millionaires and billionaires really like their money and if you try to force them to give some of it up and give it to their workers they find ways to not do that. Who'd thunk it?
  11. That's another thing that's a huge night/day difference between my last job and this one. At my last job everyone worked 8A - 5P and took lunch between 12 & 1. No exceptions. At my current job we have people that come in anywhere between 5AM and 8AM. My boss is super easy-going about our schedules being flexible if we need to come in late or leave early as well. For the most part as long as you work your 8 hours and the job is getting done, it's all good.
  12. I was laid off from my first job in 2009 and basically had to take what I could find afterwards. I ended up getting a job where I was literally making twice the money but my commute was 2 hours minimum one-way. Most days I was leaving the house between 5:30 and 6AM and not getting home until after 7PM. I'd eat dinner, then go to bed. The money was great but I was tired all the time and had almost zero time to spend with my family except on weekends and holidays. After almost 5 years of dealing with that I ended up finding my current job that is 10 minutes from my house. The people are great, the hours are great and the pay, while less than what I was making before, is still pretty good. I'm much, much happier now. Plus I have a lot more free time to enjoy my hobbies. Basically, don't work yourself to death for a job that would replace you within a week if you left. Live your life and spend as much time with your friends and family as possible.
  13. I was never a big fan of that jacket. My wife and I both got this one instead. My oldest daughter still wears it every day. I also have this thing sitting on my desk at work. I use it as a pen holder.
  14. I'm just trying to make it through this week. We are supposed to have a heat wave on Sunday. High temps in the 30s and lows *ONLY* in the 20s. Plus more snow...
  15. I have read that they were. Something like 20 million more doses given out. I got one for the first time ever a couple of months ago. My doctor told me that it was a good idea since you can get the flu and Covid at the same time.
  16. I'm just looking forward to April 15th (ish) when my campground finally opens back up. Hopefully... Although there's no guarantee that the snow will be gone by then. I have pics on my phone from the last 2 Aprils where it snowed on the 17th one year and then the 27th the next year.
  17. People are looking to do the absolute bare minimum and if there's anyone that says that no longer have to wear one they will listen to them.

    2021 Catch-All

Agreed. I made a post on FB last summer during one of our 90+ degree days. I had walked into my camping trailer and the thermometer said it was 103 degrees inside. Took a pic of it and said that I still preferred that to any day with snow or below freezing temps.
  19. This was brought up on an RV forum I'm a part of. Should be interesting to see if they'll eventually be able to make electric trucks that can haul 10,000+ lb trailers around. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/28/business/gm-zero-emission-vehicles.html
  20. Based on his b-day, I'm guessing there was no "clicking" involved when he got his loans. It was probably all done with actual pen/paper.
