  1. We've been US Cellular customers since forever. We looking into their Belief Project and it seems to just be an excuse to offer plans that cost more money. Not worth it IMO.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 5, 2010 -> 11:47 AM) Ok, my best friend growing up had the same thing happen. They named the cat Rachel only to find out (figure out?) a couple months later it was male. They ended up calling it Ray. But how does this mixup even happen? I don't know who told the people that it was a female but we just took their word for it. It's hard to tell the difference when they are that little.
  3. We got a kitten from a friend of a friend about a month ago. We were told it was a female kitten. My wife took it to the vet to get it's shots and we were informed that it's actually a male. Since we had already given him a female name, my kids had to re-name him.

  5. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 09:32 AM) The Belfast / Jimmy connection is really only two guys whose names escape me Yes, it's those two I'm trying to figure out. One of them is 'First 9' and he seems a little torn on what's happening. It's just odd to me that they seem to be more loyal to Jimmy O than SAMCRO. It's also a little creepy with the flirting going on between Trinity and Jax.
  6. Is anyone else getting a little lost with the SOA storyline? I know they've explained who's doing what and why but I'm still not sure I get it. It seems like everyone is trying to kill/double-cross everyone else.

    Black Friday

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 2, 2010 -> 12:51 PM) I wrote this in the catch-all thread a couple weeks ago...it depends on whether you're after a "Very Good" deal or if you want the real, legit "Doorbuster" deal. Most of the stores will have a handful of items that are at ridiculous prices, that they're probably selling for a loss...but they only have a handful of those. That's your best TV, your best computer, etc., in the Bestbuy ad. Those ones will often say "Minimum 10 items per store" or something like that. They're the ones you get in line on Monday for. But no place wants you coming in, being willing to spend $1000, and walking away with nothing. They will have a number of very good deals on computers, TV's & such, things that they're still turning a profit on, but that aren't necessarily the "get me through the door this price is crazy" deal level. Even if you miss the top deal, they're going to have stacks and stacks of the TV for their very good deal in the back room. I remember reading that. I guess for us there's not really any "must-have" or even big-ticket things on our list. Our kids have mostly out-grown toys and are more into video games, clothes and music.

    Black Friday

My wife has to work 10PM - 6AM Thursday night so we probably won't be going out. We have gone the past few years but it seems like we find less and less to buy every year. We went looking for a TV and a computer last year but would've had to been in line on Thursday morning to have a chance at them.
  9. I like video games. I think board/card games would have to be separate.

    Haircuts

I just let my wife run a razor with a 1/2" blade guard over mine every couple of weeks.
  11. QUOTE (onedude @ Oct 28, 2010 -> 05:47 PM) PS3 is looking like it's going to go out on me any day now. It shuts off automatically at random times....then I get the blinking red light when it is off. Not looking good. Does anyone know if there is a chance I can back-up my saves to a hard drive? Will there be enough time before it cuts out? There's a used game store in Rockford that says they can fix any game system. They deal with everything from Atari to PS3/XBOX. Might be a little too far for you but you might be able to check for something closer.
  12. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 29, 2010 -> 04:27 AM) Outside of The Thing, there is not one horror remake that's as good as the original. I think many times, and it goes for music as well, it depends on which one you heard/saw first. There are a few songs/movies that I've seen/heard the remake first and like it better than the original. On the other hand if I see/hear the original first, a lot of times I don't like the remake. Maybe that's just me though...
  13. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 07:37 PM) Do you know something we don't? I would guess this.

    Films Thread

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 05:29 PM) I, um, oh boy. One of my circuits shorted...in my head\ Thought I was in the TV thread with you guys talking SOA SOA is replayed on Fridays at 10, which is usually when I watch it. So the black bars help IMO.
  15. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 03:32 PM) That is gay as hell. It really must suck being a kid today. It's gotten more popular the last few years. There are 3 or 4 places near me that do it.
  16. QUOTE (Tex @ Oct 27, 2010 -> 05:26 AM) At my school everyone is in costume on Friday. I will not be in a costume, instead I will be in correct Native American medicine man regalia. Our school system doesn't allow the kids to dress up anymore. It's not so bad for my older two as they are in 7th and 9th grade. But my youngest is only in 3rd. Hell I remember dressing up at school in 10th grade. I also remember going out trick-or-treating with my friends when I was 15 or 16. I guess once you start driving, you're probably too old to go out trick-or-treating though.
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 25, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) The more I look at this list, the more I realize that I'm really just not a fan of the horror genre. The only ones I really like would be better classified as psychological thrillers. I think some of the ones showing up in the list should be classified more as a thriller than horror. The problem with horror movies is that there aren't a whole lot of really good ones IMHO. So many of them are old and cheesy or just the typical kill a bunch of sex-crazed teenagers gore-fest. Some of them I think people remember seeing them as kids and being scared but if they watched them now they'd wonder what they were so afraid of. Then there are the horror-comedies like Army of Darkness or Shaun of the Dead.
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 23, 2010 -> 03:42 PM) knight, can you send me my list? I lost it. Good to see Hostel get some love. I think Paranormal Activity should be much, much higher. It's definitely a classic, f*** the haters. Surprised it only showed up on 4 lists. I remember spending all but the last 2 minutes of the movie waiting for something to happen. I thought it pretty much sucked.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 06:48 AM) Is this the first video game Jordan has ever appeared in? He was in the original NBA Street as well as NBA Street 2.
  20. I quit watching Nick in the early 90's so I only got about half of them right. A few I recognized the description of the show but couldn't remember the name. A few of them I got because I remember my kids watching them.
  21. Good thing the police department doesn't work this way. We'd like to come and help you with the man that just broke into your house with a large knife but you didn't pay the $75 fee for police protection. We're sorry that he killed a few of your family members but maybe next time you'll learn. Call us back if he breaks into your neighbor's house.
  22. I know of a Wal-Mart that literally has a fire department at the end of their parking lot. But if the Wal-Mart ever caught on fire the firefighters couldn't do anything about it because it's not in their district.
  23. 12/15 Purely guessing at all the questions.
  24. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 10:15 AM) SOA was getting tedious and soap operaish with Gemma's dad. I hope they pick it up a little here as the whole adding in unnecessary twists like the medication thing was pointless. The Jimmy line looks to be going good but the whole frustration over finding Abel is getting old quick. Resolving the Gemma thing will be good as well. I didn't think last night's episode was all that great. They didn't really "do" all that much. The only action that happened was from them getting the medication. My favorite line was Tig saying that Gemma could go redhead and her getting pissed at him.
  25. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 10:13 AM) I've never understood why people with children keep those dogs as pets. Even if it's statistically high, why subject your children to that risk? http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/bullmastiff.htm Sounds like bad owners.
