  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 01:43 PM) They look the same but are very different in quality. I went to school in southern ohio and had several Rally's burgers, my roomates and I then traveled down to Key West and they were surprised how much better Checkers is. They were merged in 2000.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 10:09 AM) I can second this... their cheddar fries are out of this world. My daughter always wants to go there just for those. She calls them cheesy fries.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 17, 2008 -> 09:26 AM) I was thinking of this a few weeks ago. Loved their burgers. The one in Waukegan is now a Rally's. I'm pretty sure Checkers and Rallys are the same thing. I had a few Rally burgers in Cincinatti this past summer for the first time in years. I forgot how good they are.
  4. Beef-a-Roo double-cheeseburger = best burger ever. They also have the best fries.
  5. Honestly, I don't think it's fair to compare the two sandwiches. Other than the burger and the bun, they are totally different. They should have compared a Whopper and a Big N' Tasty or something like that. At least they have similiar toppings. Anyone else remember when BK brought out something called the Big King which was basically a Big Mac with a BK burger? It didn't last long.
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 2, 2008 -> 09:35 AM) I don't think ANYONE would vote for the live action one. I voted for both.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2008 -> 01:38 PM) You need to get a new job then. Keep in mind that if you have a corp job, half of the pay you get goes to taxes and your benefits, whereas bartender have that cash, but pay a huge lump sum on taxes at the end of the year and have to buy their own insurance which is expensive without that nice corp discount. I'm already looking. My company will be closing down our Illinois location and moving everything to Florida within 2 years. That 900-1200 isn't much lower than what I make gross. I don't have any benifits right now and don't really pay much in taxes. I get it all back in April since I make so little and can claim 5 dependants.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 2, 2008 -> 11:46 AM) He said in the post that it also includes Thursday so its like 900-1200 and that is just three nights, not including slower nights. I need to become a bartender. That's nearly what I make in 2 weeks.
  9. Our carpet can't really get any worse than it already is so I don't really care either way. The worst thing is when people come in with wet shoes and I'm walking around with socks. Wet socks suck.

QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 27, 2008 -> 12:03 AM) And I will just throw this out there, but its almost never the drivers fault that your pizza is late. QUOTE (Shadows @ Nov 28, 2008 -> 09:15 PM) Drivers know certain places that tip well and the ones that don't, and if you are in the ones that don't category don't expect a speedy delivery.. I just wanted to point out the irony in these two posts here...

QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 04:17 PM) Well I'm salaried, but my annual pay increase is based off performance, if I suck, then I get a sucky/nonexistent raise. Same here but our raises are so small it's almost not worth it. Our average raise is only 2%. If I really work my ass off and go above and beyond I might get it bumped up to 3%.

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 03:33 PM) Do/did you work in a tipped position? If not, what is your incentive to do your job well? I must quote office space here... Really, what's anyone's motivation for doing their job well besides fear of getting fired? I make a crap salary and my company is going to be gone in about 2 years so I have even less motivation. Now if I started getting tips based on people receiving their magazines on time, I might work harder...

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Nov 26, 2008 -> 02:17 PM) the waiters and waitresses and even pizza guys, i understand. even though i think their employers should pay them a fair wage in the first place, not requiring me to pay them 80% of their income. i'd rather pay $8 for a burger w/o tipping versus $6 for one and have to tip. i forgot about the bathroom guys, man they drive me insane. But if you do that, where is the incentive for wait staff to give you good service?
  14. I'm off (along with everyone else our Illinois and Florida locations) but our Colorado facility will be working. Figure that one out... My wife works tonight and tomorrow night.
  15. QUOTE (BearSox @ Nov 19, 2008 -> 09:13 PM) Am I weird for never having drugs or alcohol ever appeal to me? Keep in mind I'm a senior in high school and I'd say at least 90% of my classmates drink every weekend, and a good portion smoke, and a smaller portion do even bigger stuff then just pot. No. I'm 31 and am the same way. Never did drugs. Never took up smoking. Never been drunk. I'll go out once in a great while and have a couple drinks but that's about it. Never beer though.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 04:13 PM) Apple grandes are absolute heaven I ordered one at a Taco John's in the Quad Cities and all I got was a blank stare.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 04:27 PM) Those commercials were awesome. SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGE!!! Seriously though, my buddy and I used to get a 12 pack of Surge each weekend night and stay up all night playing NHL 96 up to Goldeneye. Those were the days. Vault is almost the same thing.
  18. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 10:49 PM) Green River is fantastic. I used to get it when I was on vacation at my cottage. It was a treat, and basically just Sprite with added sugar and maybe a bit diff. flavoring. MMMMMM There's a store here in Rockford that sells Green River 2-liters. There is also an ice cream shop where you can get Green River floats. I had a "real" green river soda on vacation this past summer from an actual soda fountain in a drug store. My wife and kids didn't like it but I thought it was awesome. Better than the store-bought stuff.
  19. QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 02:21 PM) DUDE! I wouldnt feed Arbys to an animal. I love Arby's. They have the best chicken cordon bleu. If I say 'apple grande' from Taco John's does anyone know what I'm talking about? Those things are awesome.
  20. My list is unusually small this year. I’m missing a couple of seasons from the Home Improvement box sets and the two newest Stephen King books. That’s about it.
  21. I'm sort of curious how this could be classified as voter indimidation? What could they have possibly been trying to do? Scare people into not going into the building at all? Scare people into voting for Obama? How would they even know who voted for who?
  22. Halloween is usually one of my favorite holidays but I just really haven't been into it much this year for some reason. Too much other stuff to think about this year I guess. Nobody even really decorated at my work either. We're taking the kids out like we do every year. Then this weekend we'll be packing everything back up and putting it back down in the basement.
  23. QUOTE (Texsox @ Oct 30, 2008 -> 02:39 PM) Like downloads? I can't imagine sitting at my desk, staring at my relatively small computer monitor and trying to watch a movie compared to sitting on my comfy couch and watching it on my larger TV.
  24. QUOTE (mreye @ Oct 31, 2008 -> 09:38 AM) So the bad guy is going to have to buy this software, a telephoto lens, a key grinder and go through all this trouble to get my 10 year old 42 inch TV, a computer that's so slow I need to turn it on before I go to bed if I want to use it in the morning and a DVD player, PS2, VCR and Cerwin Vega speakers that have been beaten to death by 3 kids? Hell, I'll just open the door for him when he knocks. Change that 42 inch TV to a 27 inch and I'd think you were talking about my house.
