QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 02:22 PM) For the record, teenage girls look like they are 20 nowadays. The girl looks her age in the picture provided. Besides, they went to Kansas to make the marriage legal. They knew what they were doing. The only reason they got caught is because they went back to Nebraska. Anyway, I think it's the other way around. I'm amazed at how young some of the people look who are legally buying cigarettes and beer. I think it's a side effect of getting older...
-
I'm not sure if I'm more shocked that the law existed (since been changed to 16) or that the mother of the girl gave her consent.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) This is a bit different than putting his hands down her pants, inside her waistband is different verbage than he shoved his hands down her pants. Remember this is a 6 year old also. Maybe they could reverse it and anytime a 6 year old girl kisses a 6 year old boy we can suspend them a day for a lewd advance. If they hug them maybe its something worse. God forbid if the child loses balance during the hug, it could be assault. Maybe if the child farts its a weapon of mass destruction. I actually see stories like this a lot. Where kids are suspended/punished for the dumbest reasons. It's like school officials forgot what the phrase "common sense" means.

QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 01:15 PM) One of my daughter's favorite things are My Little Ponys. I think my youngest has every single one (of the newer ones) ever made. At least it seems that way when I try to clean her room. QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) Also, you might be a child of the late 70s/early 80s if you remember Sesame St. without Elmo. I do remember that. I also remember when he was the "new monster". I think I quit watching the show just before he came on. I have to add a few more: You ever watched Reading Rainbow with LeVar Burton before he was on Star Trek. You know how to use the dewey-decimal system. You remember when only "rich people" could afford cell phones. You wondered if the Sox would ever win a World Series in your lifetime.

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 01:09 PM) Amazing how stuff gets recycled. I've seen a lot of this stuff out for kids again. I think all of that stuff has been recycled at some point in time. It's never as good as the originals though. I am really disappointed with the newer versions of the He-Man, Star Wars, Transformers and GI Joe figures/toys.

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) There's a big space between Strawberry Shortcake and Hammer pants. Like, 9 years. True, but he was at the height of his popularity in 90-91. Anyone not born in the mid to early 80's (or before) would not remember him.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) I have to admit, I'll still throw that one around too. How old is she? She turns 10 this year. She definitely missed all the good stuff. BTW, I'm quite suprised there's nothing on that list about Atari or Nintendo. There should at least be something about spending all your quarters in the local arcade. Do arcades even exist anymore?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 12:09 PM) You mean she doesn't pick up on how offensive you're being by mimicking the accent of a ficticious TV character? Funny story One of these days I'm going to have to get a video clip of him saying that just so she'll finally know who the hell Willis is...

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 11:40 AM) Keep your stick on the ice. This is always a good one to write on a napkin when somebody tells you to "leave a tip" at a restaurant.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) 21. You remember reading Tales of a fourth grade nothing and all The Ramona books. I still have these books. As well as my entire collection of Peanuts books.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) 66. You're still singing shot through the heart in your head, aren't you! Yes I am... Seriously, except for the obvious girl ones I did each and every one of those things. Except for the one about He-Man and She-Ra hooking up. They were brother and sister! I use the "whatchoo talkin bout Willis" on my daughter all the time. She always look at me and says "My name is not Willis!"

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 07:13 PM) The math part wasn't hugely difficult for me, but then again I was a math minor, so most of the random tricks they test you on I still remembered because I was using them. The math questions on those types of tests have always been insanely easy for me. The answer is right there, you just have to pick it out. You can usually just plug each one into the equation until you figure it out.

Interesting facts here. I never knew it was Africans making other Africans into slaves. How/why are we always blamed for it?

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 8, 2006 -> 08:51 AM) No. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060208/ap_en_...DRrBHNlYwM3NjI- The sheriff's department won't pursue any charges, Deputy Luis Castro said. "Unless a deputy saw the violation, there's nothing we can do," he said. "We don't even know if this took place in our jurisdiction." Yea, I guess that makes sense. They don't know when/where the picture was taken...

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 7, 2006 -> 09:03 AM) Sadly the cops can't ticket her cause they didn't catch her in the act.. :headshake Wouldn't this be the same as getting your picture taken while running a red light? I know they send people tickets in the mail.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Feb 6, 2006 -> 07:25 PM) But I also think that firing the man is absolutely retarted as well. He got suspended for 10 days and is back teaching now...

How come we don't go around calling each other honky or cracker? I've never understood it. I'm also smart enough to stay away from it...

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 04:21 PM) I'm pretty sure someone here is related to Marc Summers. I'm pretty sure I'm not. My dad was adopted when he was about nine and his last name was changed. My last name should have been Kent. As a result I ended up with an "extra" set of grandparents. Actually 2 extra sets as both my paternal grandfathers divorced and remarried. Then it just gets more confusing after that...

How often do sites like myspace.com come up in these reports? For those who missed it, what were the first two about? I can use all the help I can get protecting my three little girls.

I loved watching Danger Mouse. Belle and Sebastian - I think this was my first introduction into anime Heathcliff - I always thought it was a rip-off version of Garfield. Today's Special - I was really young when I watched this. I remember this and Sesame Street being on around the same time of the day.

QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) Yes, he was! Do you guys realize he's pushing 90 years old and, as far as I can tell, is still alive?!? I never realized how old he was or how long he'd been on TV until I saw a clip of his show from the 50's or 60's.

QUOTE(mreye @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) Those are Old School? You Can't Do That on Television! Also from that same era "Don't Just Sit There" With Double Dare it has to be the original with Marc Summers. The new DD2000 wasn't quite the same.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 03:14 PM) They shoulda maybe carded him. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11146480/from/RS.2/?GT1=7756 But teenagers drink every day. Why shouldn't they have served him?

QUOTE(q\/\/3r+y @ Feb 2, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) Only thing i will never understand is when a highschool comes across pictures of drinking and they can suspend kids. Was not on there property, was not during school hours... likely on the weekend. That's that whole zero tolerance thing which can sometimes get pretty outrageous. I've seen stories where kids get suspended because they brought a plastic knife to school and it was considered a "weapon".
