  1. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) I've seen the banana many times, but it's funnier when it isn't HUGE and pixelized with really bad music. Sorry, I didn't even watch the video. I just assumed it was the Family Guy clip...
  2. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) So in '85, Microsoft was ahead of Nintendo? OK, since Sony and Microsoft entered the market and Nintendo insisted on sticking with the cartridge-based N64. :finger Then they screwed up even more when they made the GC use those tiny little discs while everyone else was watching DVD's on their XBOX and PS2. I just don't see the Revolution changing the trend...

    Dear Life,

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) I have a friend that got hit on 17th, on his way to the Duke game. Luckily he came out of it A LOT better than they expected. I hit the back end of a pickup truck with a Chevy Lumina. I swerved just before I hit it so basically the front drivers side went underneath the bed of the truck. It ended up crushing the corner of the roof where I was sitting and the part of the frame that runs up along the side of the windshield. They towed it to a body shop so the adjuster could determine that it was totaled. When I went to get my stereo out of it (I was not letting that go with the car) the guys at the body shop just looked at me and said "You walked away from this!?" Just had a few scratches on my face...
  4. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) Well, I got annoyed pretty fast. You guys don't have the dancing banana smilie. Might make more sense then.

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) Ditto. And I doubt I would ever leave negative feedback. I've had reasons to (nothing major).. but sometimes it's just better to say nothing at all. I left neutral once. I paid for something and then waited 3 weeks to receive it. I emailed the seller a couple of times and his response was that he kept "forgetting" to take it to the post office. I finally got it and it was in good condition so that was my only complaint. The only time I've left negative is when a buyer refused to pay and ignored numerous emails and a dispute set up through ebay. After I did it he left me one saying he paid and I try to make him pay twice. :rolly

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) Report his ass to Ebay, that's in violation of their TOS. Contacting members about an auction item they haven't bid on/won is a violation but emailing about feedback?

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) Hmm.. I was thinking praise to fast payment, etc, would come first. You can always mention the fast payment when you leave the feedback. I sold a GI Joe figure one time and when the buyer got it he found a tiny little crack that I had overlooked and wanted a refund. I didn't have a problem with it and went ahead with the refund and we both agree on positive feedback in the end. If things would have gotten ugly I wouldn't have wanted to leave positive feedback beforehand. As a buyer I leave feedback as soon as I get the item.
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:05 PM) Summation of argument. Either way I think we are a few years from this solution as of right now. By the time they get this into general use I probably won't have a need for it. My dogs are almost 8 and both being pure-bred aren't expected to live much past 10 or 12 years old. We probably won't be getting anymore afterwards either.

    eBay feedback...

QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) Protocol on leaving feedback.. Seller first when payment is made.. or buyer first when item is received? As a seller, I usually wait for the person to receive the item and leave their feedback saying they got it and are satisfied with it. Then you know the transaction is complete.
  10. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) Thats what they said about Gamecube, and that system did just fine. Nintendo still has a bigtime grip on the market in Japan, the US is sort of an afterthought. There will be plenty of people like me that are waiting for what Nintendo has to offer next. I hope they come out with a Pikmin sequel when they launch the next console. Nintendo may have a good grip on the handheld market since they were the first to do it but they have always been behind Sony and Microsoft as far as consoles go.
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) I am not sure about all dogs or most dogs, but the ones I have had the leg narrows and then the paw is bigger. I am not sure about smaller dogs. Sorry for the gross picture but it's what I found. IMO, the paw is not much bigger than the leg and any kind of "braclet" would have to be awful tight to stay on. end
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) Huh? The pet's front legs get narrower as it goes down and then you have a paw to stop it from going any further. It doesn't have to be too tight or too loose. It will never slide off. From what I remember the paw is almost the same size as the leg. It's not like a human where your wrist is smaller than your hand...
  13. The ankle thing is unrealistic not because the dog would chew it but simply because it would never stay on! Take a good look at any dogs legs/feet. Unless the thing was tight enough to cut off circulation, it would simply slide right off. I also agree that a collar isn't the best idea in the world. As I said before, I've gone through a handful already because they always break. The implated chip is a requirement before adopting a pet at our local humane society. If they could possibly combine this ideas and make a transmitter that can be implanted like the chip that would be great. I just don't know if they can make the electronics of a transmitter that small yet...
  14. I have a feeling that this thing is going to be buried by the XBOX 360 and PS3...
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) I don't understand what is wrong with the microchip? Why not just use that? It is not that expensive either. Where is the improvement over that? The microchip can only be "read" by vets and the humane society and only gives information like your name and address. If your neighbor up the road found your dog with no tags and decided to keep him, you'd never know. From what I understand, this invention would allow you to check a website and find out exactly where your dog is at. Assuming the tracking device is still on.
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) yeah, I roll over alot when I sleep I've been told, and that would just make it like sleeping in a raft on the ocean. Actually the waveless matresses aren't too bad. It's still the waterbed feel without a lot of the sloshing around. I have found recently that it's not easy to find sheets for them anymore. I don't know what I'll do if I ever have to buy a new matress or heater. I need new railing covers as it is...
  17. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 04:53 AM) I was waiting for the CTA bus outside school today with some kid whom, for whatever reason, decided to wear khaki shorts. I don't know--perhaps he didn't notice the snow, or the bitter cold once he exited his residence, but it was ridiculous. What's funny is the bus took nearly 15 minutes to arrive where we were. I laughed, all snuggled up in a thermal jacket and thick black stocking hat. I've seen lots of people wearing shorts in the middle of winter. Just last week I saw somebody wearing SANDALS with NO SOCKS in the middle of a snowstorm.
  18. QUOTE(mreye @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) While I wouldn't need / use it for my current dog, it's a very good idea. This would work like a GPS then? I thought the chip was different in that it doesn't "track" your dog, but once your dog is found, they can then identify it. PS, I now own www.wheresfido.com That's exactly what the chip does. It also replaces (in a sense) the tags that dogs are supposed to have but inevitably lose between your yard and the pound.
  19. I have a siberian husky and that breed is notorious for being escape artists. I'd have to take off my shoes and socks to count the number of times he's gotten out. I think the people at the humane society are starting to know me by name. The last time he got out I found the door of his kennel pushed IN so I think he's getting a little "help" from an asshole neighbor. That only dropped my fine to $50 when I had to go to court because of it... Anyway, this product might help if I could be sure that it would actually stay on him. I've gone through a dozen or so collar because he keeps breaking them. I finally had to put a chain with a padlock around his neck and haven't had any problems.
  20. I think I'm one of the last 10 people in America that still has a waterbed. Have had one since I was ten years old. Everytime I sleep on a regular matress I wake up with a sore back...
  21. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) I'd like to add perhaps the most logically-flawed, common sense-devoid script ever produced: Maximum Overdrive. I believe Stephen King was really bored when he wrote that story. In his defense, the book was at least a little bit better. I liked the ending better in the book too.
  22. I've been seriously looking at getting one of these things but I'm really reluctant to spend $300-$600 on a vacuum. On the other hand, I figure I've probably spent at least that much already on the last 3 POS ones I've bought in the past couple years. So if these new Dyson vacuums are as good as advertised it might be worth the investment. Supposedly they never lose suction. Every other vacuum we've ever owned has sucked. Or not sucked I guess...
  23. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Uh uh...Shawshank and Christmas Story are PHENOMINAL! Never said they were bad movies. Just ones that are shown on TV an awful lot.
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) Jim is that way with that Last Action Hero movie. Hates it.. but stops on it every time it's on. :banghead I actually kinda liked that movie because it made fun of so many hollywood cliches. "I shot that car, how come it didn't blow up?"
  25. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 07:50 PM) I loved Secret Window with Johnny Depp but apparently everyone else in the world thought it blew. Like many other movies based on a Stephen King book they butchered the story. I'm scared to see what they will do with 'Desperation' or 'From a Buick 8'.
