QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) I believe that "Footloose" may be the dumbest/worst movie ever. That said, how come whenever it's on tv, I can't not watch it? I believe it ranks up there with a Christmas Story, Over the Top and Shawshank Redemtion. It's one of those movies you've seen a million times before but just can't help stopping on it while channel-surfing.

Napolean Dynamite - Not sure this one counts considering how huge it has become but I think what makes it funny is the the fact that it's such a bad movie. Freeway - The movie that first introduced me to Reese Witherspoon. Also starred Keifer Sutherland and Brooke Shields but I'd never even heard of it until I saw it on TV one day. Hot to Trot - It has Bob Goldthwait and a talking horse. What more do you need? Mitchell - OK, if you've even heard of this movie you're a MST3K fan.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) I think Walgreen is following the best course of helping those people get licensed in a state where they can refuse to aid in an abortion. Is it really considered an abortion if the cells haven't even started to split yet???

QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 08:28 AM) New York Times Link Instead of heading to the Doctors office, I wonder if we could just web cast a session, form a message board to discuss treatment, maybe post some links to addiction recovery sites . . . I think there are actually websites out there for this exact reason. It's pretty much like having an AA meeting in a bar...

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 06:27 AM) For some reason, the GTA thing looks cheesy to me. But there's a lot of you that like it. It's not for everyone but it's really the first game that opened up huge a free-roaming city in GTA:Vice City. In San Andreas they expanded it to 3 entire cities plus some addition countryside. You can literally hop in a plane/jet/helicopter and spend 10 minutes flying from one edge of your boundary to the other. The freedom in the game is really the best part about it and other games have been starting to copy the idea.

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) My girlfriend talked me into renting Kingdom Hearts a while ago, and I became addicted to that. Its a great game, even if its just Disney characters. Its a very good rpg game for PS2, and I've heard a newer version is coming out soon. My kids got it somehow (I think a friend gave it to them) and decided it was too difficult so they kept asking me to help them get through certain parts of it. I ended up starting my own save file and finished the entire game. The only thing part I haven't finished is beating that last guy in the tournament on the Hercules level. I thought Kingdom Hearts 2 would be out by now but I haven't heard anything about it for quite awhile. It's supposed to pick up a year after the first one ended with Kingdom Hearts : Chain of Memories for GBA filling in the time in between.

Thomas/Belle was good but Frank had a better year in 97 while Belle had a monster year in 98. I thought the Thomas/Konerko earlier this year when Frank was actually playing was pretty scary.

QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 01:08 PM) Thome is still a 500AB guy He can also back up Konerko when needed. Plus, if Frank's foot isn't 100%, he wouldn't be playing that much anyway. Just a thought...

I think there is a chance they still bring Frank back in a platoon role with Thome. Check out their splits. Frank hits better against lefties and Thome hits better against righites.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) my gosh if we played full court one on one now, I'd fall over in about 10 seconds. from what I hear, the network cards are pretty cool. mine came built in with one. but I don't have a big hard drive on my station - which means there was one game that i couldn't play online because it was so huge. i don't remember which one it was. You must have gotten one of the slimline ones with the flip-up lid instead of the slid-out tray. I've had both and prefer the newer one much more. BTW, I think it was a Final Fantasy game that needs the bigger hard drive.

QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) But most casual fans didn't care about getting into the opening ceremony. This year I anticipate the lines being way longer then in the past to get in for that. In years past not everyone made it in as it was. Do you know how many tickets are sold for each day? I thought I had heard somewhere around 3,000. I'd say there was at least half that in line/in the room for the opening ceremonies last year. Maybe more...
-
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) Well let's ad this mea culpa to the equation... Normally, Soxfest tickets don't sell out until right before the fest... This year they were gone before the Series was over. There could be a larger group of "no lifers" there this year. So be prepared. If they sold out last year and sold out this year wouldn't that mean there's the exact same number of people there? I don't think it really matters when they bought their tickets... BTW, for the original poster: The event is held 2 floors below the main floor. You don't have to worry about lining up outside. If you want to get into the room to see them introduce the players on Friday you'd better get there a few hours early though...

I had a blast with Burnout 3 and Burnout revenge. I'm normally not into racing games but this one actually encourages you to crash into other cars. Any of the Medal of Honor or Call of Duty games are fun if you like first-person shooter games (like Doom). Sports games I can't really comment much on because the last one I bought was MLB 2002. I just rented NFL Blitz the league and it wasn't too bad. I also rented a baseball game but I don't remember which one... Grand Theft Auto or The Warriors are also fun games if you like going around and causing a lot of violence and mayhem.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) That's not bad!!!! Really? He's always seem to have a bit of a cult following and a lot of the people I know have at least heard some of his music but aren't really into it enough to buy a CD. Also, my wife also got to meet him and get an autograph on one of my cds.

I have all the Weird Al Yankovic CDs and have seen him in concert twice.

I still have a lot of my books. I used to read those things daily along with all my Charlie Brown and Garfield books.

Two comments. First, has there been any thought to creating a wishlist type thread/ board for people that are looking to buy something that they can't seem to find? Or maybe they should just be seperate posts? Second, what are the rules/laws on selling recorded games? I don't think it's technically legal is it?

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) Trust me, I've bought "the right gloves". I've spent so much money on gloves it's ridiculous. Stand outside in the dead of winter, without moving anything but your arms slightly, for 8 hours. Then tell me there is any glove that works. The only ones are the hunting gloves I mentioned, and they are basically mittens. Maybe it's just me then. My wife complains that I give off a lot of body heat anyway. My biggest problem is keeping my feet and nose warm...
