  1. Now put the number of months/years it took to get to those numbers.
  2. Completely random question. Use whatever criteria you wish. Which movie do you choose? Back to the Future or Stand By Me?
  3. Illinois "requires" it but my wife works in a gas station where they don't enforce either the employees or the customers wearing them. My daughter works at a pizza place where they were told by management that they can't turn customers away for not wearing one. I've read that death certificates do have a place for secondary cause of death. I don't know if it's standard nation wide or not.
  4. I related it to being punished by your parents and having to stand in the corner for 10 minutes. But instead of just doing that, you keep leaving and the time keeps starting over. Then you end up in the corner for hours instead of just the initial 10 minutes.
  5. You say your wife is a pharmacist, your daughters are studying to become surgeons and your brother is a nurse but you don't know how to tie on a mask? Seriously??? Good job not answering the questions.
  6. Also odd that in 18 years and over 30,000 posts that he's only ever mentioned having a family one time.
  7. He won't. For as long as he's been here, I know surprisingly little about him other than he lives in Kansas and needs a haircut. I've gone back and forth for years debating whether or not his entire posting history is just a schtick.
  8. Greg has never let facts get in the way of his opinion.
  9. Video of the completely real sign.
  10. The best analogy I've seen of letting each state decide this on their own is that it's like having a "no peeing zone" in a swimming pool.
  11. What exactly did the other 49 states have to respond to after Pearl Harbor? Did they all get bombs dropped on them too and nobody reported it?
  12. Obviously the 2 that responded directly to your post do.
  13. https://chicago.suntimes.com/coronavirus/2020/3/13/21178986/coronavirus-illinois-public-schools-close-pritzker?fbclid=IwAR3BIZvTDSqlonEEaunLq4WOZxMXXLOtz5LnX0YvPz_EGqy83DJ-1VgivfM The schools will be closed starting Tuesday and continuing until March 30
  14. Not sure about the insurance part but maybe check into the cost of removing them. I just had a couple of large, mostly dead pine trees removed last year and it was cheaper than I thought it would be. A few hundred IIRC. Definitely under $1000.
  15. Yep, everything is fine. Nobody panicking at all. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/03/02/shoppers-flock-to-costco-over-coronavirus-fears-analyst-expecting-sales-boost.html
  16. Pretty much any retail store or fast food joint? It's pretty much a rule that they are the busiest on the weekends. I worked a second job at Wal-Mart back in 2001 or so and it was like 2 nights a week and weekends. Usually around 20 - 25 hours a week. I did that for about 3 years and it was exhausting but gave us some much-needed help paying down some debt we had accrued.
  17. I haven't bought a new MLB The Show game since 2016. I decided on a whim the other day to fire it up again and check out the Diamond Dynasty section. To my surprise, it was still up and running. Then I see online that they will be decommissioning the servers on July 28th. I had a bunch of missions that I never completed because I figured it would take me years to either earn enough stubs to buy the cards I needed or get lucky enough to get one as a reward. I played a few games and listed a handful of things in the online market and they actually sold. So apparently there are others still playing this 4-year-old game as well.
  18. Her prom isn't until the end of April so we have plenty of time. Went dress shopping this weekend and she found another one. Slightly different style/color and more money but she likes it. Now we just have to cancel the Amazon order.
  19. How do you determine who has the "best" healthcare though? Just because it costs more, doesn't necessarily mean it's better. It's all completely subjective. Is one doctor better than the other because he runs more tests? Because he knows more? Because he went to a different school? Because you simply feel more comfortable talking to him? And for most people, they only get to choose from a group that accepts their specific insurance. So if there are "better" doctors out there that I've never been to I'll never know it. Healthcare isn't typically something that you get to "try out" to see if you like one better than the other. And it's not like there are (AFAIK) any kind of published rankings or statistics for doctors that we can read to easily research which doctor is better than another.
  20. Do you think our current system is run efficiently?
  21. I just got a message from Amazon that my daughter's prom dress won't make it through customs. Another friend of mine had a daughter that ordered a wedding dress that is being held up.
  22. They did it that way for years. Twice a year and every series was Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The thing is that these games are always guaranteed sell-outs. So they decided instead of wasting a sell-out on a weekend when they know they are going to sell more tickets anyway, they moved them to mid-week games instead. How often during the year do they sell-out a random Tuesday night game? The only way it would be more of a rivalry would be if they played in the same division. As it is now, I think the novelty has worn off quite a bit. They aren't much more than just another NL team at this point. Sure there is a little bit of bragging rights but I'd much rather lose all 4 games to the Cubs and win the season series vs. any or all of the ALC teams. I actually agree with this. I wish they played the other teams more often instead of just rotating through each NL division every year. I'd like to see them play the Diamondbacks and the Cardinals and the Braves all in one year rather than play the Tigers and Royals 19 times.
  23. I'm starting to believe that anything would be better than what we have now. Here's a nice story about a woman that is literally getting paid to travel to Mexico to get cheaper prescription drugs. https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/utah-sends-employees-mexico-lower-prescription-prices-68861516
  24. But would it be better than what we have now? That's the real question. I just spent 2 months fighting to get a bill paid from last April that my insurance said they would pay but somehow never got despite the medical clinic saying they sent them bill to them 3 times. I've also heard stories of insurance companies denying coverage for things because the insurance company decided that the procedures that the trained medical doctors performed weren't "medically necessary". We shouldn't have people afraid to do to the doctor for things that could possibly be life-threatening because they are worried that they won't be able to pay for it.
