Honestly, picking your favorite sports team as a kid is so arbitrary. Sometimes it's because a father or other relative was a fan and you grew up watching the games with them. Sometimes it's something completely random. I know a guy who became a Vikings fan because his family was all Packers fans and he wanted to be different. So he walked into the room while a game was on and asked who the other team was. It happened to be the Vikings so he became a Vikings fan. I myself only became a Sox fan because my best friend was a Cubs fan and when we played MLB on my Nintendo and had to pick teams I wanted to pick a "home" team and he chose the Cubs. So the Sox were the only next logical choice. I started asking my parents to buy me Sox shirts and hats after that. Neither of them were into sports at all. From then on it just became a life-time of emotional (and monetary) investment.

What he said publicly about how he felt about the team in ST is different than what he said publicly now. So either he was lying then or he's lying now. Either way, not a good look.

I did that several times over the past couple of days. It actually seems to be finally working today.

I'm still getting the "the site is down" page daily after being on here for a few minutes. Like I can log in and read a few posts but then when I try to go back it comes up. It's really odd.

Team is s%*#. Fans don't show up to watch shitty team. Org blames fans for team being s%*#. Rinse, repeat.

Also Ozzie (while not technically fired) quit before the season ended.

It's more a lack of accountability than anything IMO. There's basically no deterrent for poor results.

It could be argued that 2005 was the worst thing to happen to this franchise because it gave JR the belief that "his way" actually does work. And he's been trying to duplicate it since then.

I can't find a clip of it but there is one point in Major League 2 where Harry Doyle mentions that the White Sox actually won the World Series in the first movie.

Also the scene from A League of Their Own that always makes me laugh. "AND HOW ABOUT MARLA HOOCH. WHAT A HITTER."

What's sad is that we all saw this coming.
