  1. I just had the brakes go out on my Suburban. Got about 2 blocks from home and they just went to the floor. Pulled over into a parking lot and a warning message about servicing my brake system started flashing on my dash. Still had fluid in the reservoir but it was obviously leaking. Drove about 5 mph all the way back home and got it back into the driveway. Noticed a long line of fluid going down my driveway from when I pulled in. Not sure if it's one of the lines or if it's the master cylinder. Now I have to get a tow truck to take it into the repair shop.
  2. This season of American Horror Story has been horrible. Last season was a struggle to watch but this one is even worse. Most of the actors that were in most, if not all, of the previous seasons haven't come back.
  3. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Sep 20, 2017 -> 10:45 AM) One of the emails was confirmation from Best Buy for the purchase of a $1300 laptop but when I went to my BB account, there isn't anything there. So it was probably a fake email or some other account that was set up with my email. Either way, I changed my BB password too. Maybe I spoke too soon. Just got an email from Best Buy asking to take a survey about the conversation that I had with one of their customer service representatives. I didn't have any conversation with a CSR... So I went to my account and this time I found the order for the laptop, but the order had failed because the credit card couldn't be authorized. What's weird is that the credit card they tried to use isn't one of mine. So somebody got into my best buy account, added a credit card to my profile and then tried to order a laptop with said credit card. I noticed that on the sign-in screen it uses my email address instead of a username. So I changed the email associated with that account. The good news is that the spam emails have all but stopped. So hopefully I caught everything in time.
  4. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 20, 2017 -> 11:42 AM) Sounds like a phishing scheme, actually kind of clever when you think about it. Bombard a user, including fake receipt confirmations, to make them think they need to change their passwords. They probably hoped you would go through their fake BB email to reset your password, and then you'd be hacked. I always take the time to open a new tab and type the web address in directly rather than trusting the link in an email. Even if I think it's not fake.
  5. So yesterday afternoon around 2 PM I got hit with some sort of spambot email thing. I opened up my email (Yahoo) and literally had 150+ unread messages. Most of them are subscriptions to some sort of newsletter or website asking for confirmation. A handful of them are in some sort of foreign language. As best as I can tell, nobody actually got INTO my email account. I have two-factor authentication set up so I should get a text if someone tries to log in from another computer. Although I did immediately change my password. For now, I went through and set all the emails to spam. I also went and changed the passwords for a few of my financial accounts. Amazon, Paypal, Discover, ect... Didn't find anything out of the ordinary on any of them. One of the emails was confirmation from Best Buy for the purchase of a $1300 laptop but when I went to my BB account, there isn't anything there. So it was probably a fake email or some other account that was set up with my email. Either way, I changed my BB password too. Googling the problem looks like there really isn't a "fix" for it other than setting the emails to spam. I'm not taking the chance on clicking any of the unsubscribe links. I've been monitoring it this morning and it's slowed down a bit but a few are still coming through. It's really annoying because I've had this email for damn near 20 years now and have never had a problem with it. I don't even understand the end-game here because if they don't have access to the email account, what good does it do sending them all?
  6. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 14, 2017 -> 10:00 AM) I just think they did more than borrow. It was like watching the same movie again- there's always a big destroyer thingy, it's always destroyed by a little flaw in its build, they always build up to the destruction of it in the same way, etc. I know "half the planet" thinks they're similar, but my opinion is unpopular because I think they're so similar to the point where TFA is not even a good movie. I think the opinion that it's not a good movie is the unpopular one. From Wiki:
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 10:46 PM) Unpopular opinion, but to me, TFA was the same as A New Hope. Different characters, graphics, etc. but identical storyline. I didn't enjoy it. There are some obvious similarities between them (main character starts out on a desert planet, large planet destroying base, bad guy wears all black and has a red light saber....) but to say they have identical story lines is a bit of a stretch.
  8. QUOTE (Tony @ Sep 13, 2017 -> 08:13 PM) Anyone got a working PS2 they want to sell? I'm really craving some MVP Baseball/Madden 2005. If you happen to have a Half-Price Books near you, check them out. I got a "fat" PS2 with all the cords and 2 controllers for like $30 just last year.
  9. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Jun 26, 2017 -> 02:25 PM) Our girls won the National Championship on Saturday. Boys came in 2nd. link The girls got their National Championship rings on Friday. They look good with the State Championship rings. On a personal note, I shot a 279 last night. Left one single 10-pin in the 8th frame or else I could've had 300. Ended with a 704 series. First 700 series in a long time.
  10. I don't know why the CEO of a movie theater chain would be worried about this. They make most of their money off concessions. Most of the cost of the movie ticket goes to the actual people that made the movie.
  11. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 6, 2017 -> 10:44 AM) Back at he Hilton where it belongs. Where was it before? I haven't been since they moved it from the Hyatt.
  12. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 03:35 PM) Yea I was talking about the wall/securing the border, not DACA. Reading comprehension, everyone! It's still a bad argument. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 03:35 PM) He might "write code" but I'm not sure he "speaks English". Cute.
  13. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 12:37 PM) No. Where did I say that? QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 11:33 AM) There is absolutely nothing racist or anti-immigrant about securing our southern border by building a wall. At all. It's something we desperately need to do, and for amnesty to work needs to happen in conjunction. It's a national security issue most importantly, I don't see how you could be reasonably against it. Here?
  14. Apparently Obama didn't respond fast enough to Katrina

    QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 24, 2017 -> 08:53 AM) If Affleck remains the DCEU Batman, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is cast as Thomas Wayne in the Flashpoint movie, and a new Batman is cast for Matt Reeves movie, there could conceivably be 3 people playing the part of Batman at the same time Not to mention 2 people playing Joker at the same time. Jared Leto in the Joker/Harley Quinn movie and whoever they cast for the stand-alone Joker origin movie.
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 02:17 PM) I can't watch the video though. What is the violence he's referring to? The Charlottesville ordeal? Yes. I can see how people can infer that he's talking about Trump in the first video but he never mentions him by name.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 10:31 AM) My guess is that he hit at a pretty big swatch of his constituency with this statement. There is a pretty big group of Trump supporters that fall into the typical clientele here. I'm sure he did. But the way it played out amazes me. People aren't upset that the media equates hateful and violet people as Trump supporters. They are upset that a CEO doesn't want those types of people as customers. Seems a bit backwards to me.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 23, 2017 -> 10:39 AM) I've honestly never heard of that company. So maybe its helping him reach a larger customer base. Of course I f***ing hate camping. I really haven't seen or heard much of this story outside of the camping message boards I'm on. Although they don't allow political discussions so I can't really discuss it there. If you aren't really into camping, it's probably a place you'd drive right past without a second thought. There is one in Wauconda though.
  19. I've owned a camper of some sort for around 15 years or so and I belong to a couple of different camping message boards. Marcus Lemonis, the CEO of Camping World made some comments the other day about the events in Charlottesville, Virginia. Here's the clip of his actual comments. Of course the headlines are twisting it into him saying that he doesn't want Trump supporters shopping at his business. This has people up in arms and many are saying they are cancelling their memberships and that they won't shop at CW anymore. Here's his follow up video clarifying his statements. Basically he's saying that if you are for hate and violence, then he doesn't want you as a customer. Of course people are proving his point by sending him hateful and violent comments including death threats. I'm sure the irony is lost on them.
  20. QUOTE (ewokpelts @ Aug 22, 2017 -> 07:36 PM) because it was in a newspaper(and website)
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 20, 2017 -> 12:44 PM) Oops North Korea warned of a "merciless strike" today. They're baacccckkkkk, folks.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 12:38 PM) By gawd some of those people (white surpremists) are good people; See, this is just something that should never be said by anyone.
  23. It really is the lack of crowds that probably makes the experience better. With all the other teams it's likely a combination of being too crowded, tickets are over-priced, lack of parking/accessibility or the team is bad with no foreseeable future of getting better anytime soon.
