Yes, get the vaccine but also hope you don't need to go to the hospital for any reason at all. https://news.yahoo.com/alabama-man-dies-cardiac-event-223018300.html?utm_source=fark&utm_medium=website&utm_content=link&ICID=ref_fark&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly9tLmZhcmsuY29tLw&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAADLUHRQaQkad56IHE2fpLWo2UE3lO7AzOGWQ1O9yMaAFH0wTZTS2OJZBFelddpfrQZYn3x-KeGQ-WkkEwEJVShZvZ4KW-SudZKLNbL4P0HF4lIqzjpMdq6vwPnUQRU0oPDsgJS81tNR8Cjo7GRhibwQA6ZpEmN_xXjCfVuklFTuR&guccounter=2 https://www.texastribune.org/2021/08/23/texas-hospital-icu-capacity/

This country decided a long time ago that public heath > personal choice. It's why we can't smoke in buildings anymore. It's why there are certain codes and restrictions restaurants have to follow for food handling. It's why babies have to have X number of shots before they even leave the hospital when they are born. Then X number in the many years afterwards including the numerous vaccines required for attending school. This is not new.

We gutted our entire kitchen for around $12K about 5 year ago.

I didn't think the HIMYM ending was all that bad. I never understood the hate it got. The ending of the original Rosanne was an all-time WTF moment though. Although with the new show they basically erased the entire final season.

So you believe that all these people that are out there not wearing masks, spreading the virus everywhere, filling up our hospital ICUs, stressing our health care workers to the breaking point and essentially prolonging this pandemic waay past when it should have been over need to have a voice? Need to be "heard"? Need to have someone in their corner justifying their moronic ideas and actions? Good to know...

You think if I could find 42 more stories like this (and I bet I can) it would scare the vaccine-hesitant into actually wanting to get the shot? https://www.yahoo.com/news/25-old-had-double-lung-122554850.html

True. Some just have 1500+ posts on a random baseball message board. Then continually claim they aren't really an anti-vaxxer but a "voice" for them.

It's amazing how many times I've read stories exactly like this. Unvaccinated person dies, everyone that knows them immediately goes out and gets vaccinated. Person who was loudly anti-vax/anti-mask dies of Covid. It's an easy pattern to spot, yet it seems to keep happening every. single. day. At this point it's difficult to muster up any sympathy for these people.

I have Synchrony for my Discount Tire card and my Care Credit card that I had to use when my dog got surgery. They've been pretty good.

I'm confused. Did they show up and then just leave again? Why didn't they install it?

Those stories are few and far between. Again, just like with most things in life, it's not 100%. Even many birth controls are only 99% effective. That doesn't mean people should just stop using them if they want to prevent pregnancy. The information is out there. You just have to look for it instead of waiting for the media to spoon-feed it to you. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html Myocarditis and pericarditis after COVID-19 vaccination are rare. As of September 8, 2021, VAERS has received 1,413 reports of myocarditis or pericarditis among people ages 30 and younger who received COVID-19 vaccine. Most cases have been reported after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna), particularly in male adolescents and young adults. Through follow-up, including medical record reviews, CDC and FDA have confirmed 854 reports of myocarditis or pericarditis. CDC and its partners are investigating these reports to assess whether there is a relationship to COVID-19 vaccination. Learn more about COVID-19 vaccines and myocarditis. Reports of death after COVID-19 vaccination are rare. More than 380 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through September 13, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 7,653 reports of death (0.0020%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine. FDA requires healthcare providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if it’s unclear whether the vaccine was the cause. Reports of adverse events to VAERS following vaccination, including deaths, do not necessarily mean that a vaccine caused a health problem.

What are you considering "physical" problems? And yes of course people are dying after having been vaccinated. It was never said to be 100% guaranteed to make you not die. That's not an excuse to not get it. That's like not wearing your seat belt because you've heard one or two stories about people dying while still wearing them. AFAIK, nobody has died because of the vaccine either.

I believe most schools require kids to be vaccinated before they are allowed to attend. Nobody seems to get upset about that either. From Kindergarten all the way through 9th grade.

Meanwhile, a hospital in Houston is back to putting up tents as an overflow for Covid-19 patients because they are getting overwhelmed. Again. Awesome.

Anyone else watching Masters of the Universe: Revelation on Netflix? It got great reviews from the critics but the actual fans seem to hate it. I've only watched the first 3 episodes but I'm enjoying it so far. I like the fact that they are aware how campy the original was but still give little call-outs to it.

It looks like an interesting sci-fi movie but nothing I'm going to rush out to watch. I might catch it in 3 or 4 years when they finally show it on TBS or TNT.

I literally know nothing about the entire Dune franchise. Never read any of the books, never saw any of the movies or TV shows.

I know you're being sarcastic but this is another problem starting to pop up more and more. I thought we were past this. https://www.fox13memphis.com/news/local/13-hospitals-mississippi-have-no-icu-beds-available-due-covid-19-delta-variant-spike/Z7M6SI3GFRHUPAPH6LHTB4A66M/ Amazing how people fail to realize that not getting vaccinated doesn't just affect them.
-
I don't laugh but they do piss me off since they are the ones prolonging the end of this whole thing.

I remember reading a story not that long ago about a guy that insisted up until his dying breath that he didn't actually have Covid and that it was all fake. Then he died from Covid. Whats sad is how many other millions of people are just like both of the guys in these stories.
-
I find it weird that people are worried about long term affects of the vaccination (which thus far are unfounded) but not the long term affects of the actual disease they would be protecting themselves from. Death is a long term affect isn't it? Because the number of people that have died from the disease is WAY greater than the number that have died from the vaccine.
-
There are some people that aren't going to get the vaccine no matter what. It doesn't matter who says they should get it or what the facts say. They'd rather die instead. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/17/us/arkansas-covid-19-vaccine.html

You should just create a signature that says you've been vaxxed with both shots. It would be easier than reminding us on every single post you make in this thread.

We were on vacation in Florida when it happened and staying in a hotel just 40 miles south.
