    2021 Catch-All

Meanwhile, a hospital in Houston is back to putting up tents as an overflow for Covid-19 patients because they are getting overwhelmed. Again. Awesome.
  2. Anyone else watching Masters of the Universe: Revelation on Netflix? It got great reviews from the critics but the actual fans seem to hate it. I've only watched the first 3 episodes but I'm enjoying it so far. I like the fact that they are aware how campy the original was but still give little call-outs to it.
  3. It looks like an interesting sci-fi movie but nothing I'm going to rush out to watch. I might catch it in 3 or 4 years when they finally show it on TBS or TNT.
  4. I literally know nothing about the entire Dune franchise. Never read any of the books, never saw any of the movies or TV shows.
  5. I know you're being sarcastic but this is another problem starting to pop up more and more. I thought we were past this. https://www.fox13memphis.com/news/local/13-hospitals-mississippi-have-no-icu-beds-available-due-covid-19-delta-variant-spike/Z7M6SI3GFRHUPAPH6LHTB4A66M/ Amazing how people fail to realize that not getting vaccinated doesn't just affect them.
  6. I don't laugh but they do piss me off since they are the ones prolonging the end of this whole thing.
  7. I remember reading a story not that long ago about a guy that insisted up until his dying breath that he didn't actually have Covid and that it was all fake. Then he died from Covid. Whats sad is how many other millions of people are just like both of the guys in these stories.
  8. I find it weird that people are worried about long term affects of the vaccination (which thus far are unfounded) but not the long term affects of the actual disease they would be protecting themselves from. Death is a long term affect isn't it? Because the number of people that have died from the disease is WAY greater than the number that have died from the vaccine.
  9. There are some people that aren't going to get the vaccine no matter what. It doesn't matter who says they should get it or what the facts say. They'd rather die instead. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/17/us/arkansas-covid-19-vaccine.html
  10. You should just create a signature that says you've been vaxxed with both shots. It would be easier than reminding us on every single post you make in this thread.

    2021 Catch-All

We were on vacation in Florida when it happened and staying in a hotel just 40 miles south.

    2021 Catch-All

They did but the fast food and retail workers never stopped working. My wife and all 3 of my kids work retail and they never stopped. 2 of them changed where they worked but that was it. Where did all the workers go?
  13. Do you have dependents?
  14. Honestly, they probably just put those stupid green valve caps on them and just tell everyone they put nitrogen in them. Who's really going to check?
  15. It's also not flammable which is a plus when you have numerous tanks of the stuff around hot race car engines. But again for normal everyday use it's absolutely not worth paying extra for.
  16. You guys realize that nitrogen-filled tires is a complete scam right? It does absolutely nothing useful for you. The air you are breathing right now has about 78% nitrogen in it already. Just fill up with regular free air from a gas station or buy a small compressor for like $30.
  17. Literally a 2-second google search reveals this... https://www.bbc.com/news/business-57050690
  18. I have yet to walk into a store and see less than 90% of the people wearing masks. Even the ones that say they aren't required for fully vaccinated people. I have yet to see a single store employee not wearing one as well.
  19. I never thought about that as a reason but that's definitely something we are really bad at in this country. It's sad that people can't take care of themselves simply because they are afraid they will miss work and/or lose their jobs because of it. My company is amazing about taking time off for stuff and for the vaccine they basically said go get it and don't worry about taking time off for it. I got both my shots in the afternoon with no problem. I didn't have any symptoms but if I did I could've easily worked from home for a day or 2. I know a lot of people don't have that luxury.
  20. I went to a Wal-Mart and a local grocery store over the weekend after the "no-mask for the vaccinated" policy came out. Still saw probably 99% of the people wearing masks. I didn't see anything specific at Wal-Mart mentioning not needing to wear a mask but the grocery store had a small sign on the door saying they were recommended but not required if you are fully vaccinated. I think it's going to take a little bit of time for the news to get around to everyone and for people that have been wearing them all this time to actually stop wearing them. I'm fully vaccinated and still wore mine. Of course there are plenty of people that seem to "forget" their mask and have continued to "forget" it for the past year now. At least according to my wife who works retail. So nothing will change for them.

    2021 Catch-All

SNL always puts out a playlist of all their skits on Youtube. So I'll just watch them there instead of watching the actual show. Somehow I never knew that Elon Musk has Asperger's.
  22. That has to be mostly from the initial roll-out when they were only giving it out to "group A" high-risk and older patients. The supply was actually outpacing the demand at that point. I remember a lot of people being accused of line jumping at one point because they were giving the vaccines out to anyone that happened to be there just so they didn't have to throw them out.
  23. This is the first I've heard of the show as well as the people in it. Don't care enough about either one to worry about cancelling my subscription.

So, the battle of Joshes happened the other day... https://www.npr.org/2021/04/25/990714129/there-can-only-be-one-battle-of-the-joshes-brings-hundreds-to-nebraska
  25. I had some minor side effects. Arm was a little sore on Friday and I didn't sleep all that well Friday night. Not sure if it was the bed I was sleeping in or the fact that my arm hurt. Saturday during the day I felt OK but later Saturday night I had body aches and chills. Nothing debilitating. Just a minor annoyance. Sunday woke up feeling 100%. Had a bit of a headache Sunday night and this morning but that's nothing really unusual. I get headaches sometimes. Hard to tell if it's a side effect or not...
