They did but the fast food and retail workers never stopped working. My wife and all 3 of my kids work retail and they never stopped. 2 of them changed where they worked but that was it. Where did all the workers go?

Do you have dependents?

Honestly, they probably just put those stupid green valve caps on them and just tell everyone they put nitrogen in them. Who's really going to check?
-
It's also not flammable which is a plus when you have numerous tanks of the stuff around hot race car engines. But again for normal everyday use it's absolutely not worth paying extra for.
-
You guys realize that nitrogen-filled tires is a complete scam right? It does absolutely nothing useful for you. The air you are breathing right now has about 78% nitrogen in it already. Just fill up with regular free air from a gas station or buy a small compressor for like $30.

Literally a 2-second google search reveals this... https://www.bbc.com/news/business-57050690

I have yet to walk into a store and see less than 90% of the people wearing masks. Even the ones that say they aren't required for fully vaccinated people. I have yet to see a single store employee not wearing one as well.
-
I never thought about that as a reason but that's definitely something we are really bad at in this country. It's sad that people can't take care of themselves simply because they are afraid they will miss work and/or lose their jobs because of it. My company is amazing about taking time off for stuff and for the vaccine they basically said go get it and don't worry about taking time off for it. I got both my shots in the afternoon with no problem. I didn't have any symptoms but if I did I could've easily worked from home for a day or 2. I know a lot of people don't have that luxury.

I went to a Wal-Mart and a local grocery store over the weekend after the "no-mask for the vaccinated" policy came out. Still saw probably 99% of the people wearing masks. I didn't see anything specific at Wal-Mart mentioning not needing to wear a mask but the grocery store had a small sign on the door saying they were recommended but not required if you are fully vaccinated. I think it's going to take a little bit of time for the news to get around to everyone and for people that have been wearing them all this time to actually stop wearing them. I'm fully vaccinated and still wore mine. Of course there are plenty of people that seem to "forget" their mask and have continued to "forget" it for the past year now. At least according to my wife who works retail. So nothing will change for them.

SNL always puts out a playlist of all their skits on Youtube. So I'll just watch them there instead of watching the actual show. Somehow I never knew that Elon Musk has Asperger's.

That has to be mostly from the initial roll-out when they were only giving it out to "group A" high-risk and older patients. The supply was actually outpacing the demand at that point. I remember a lot of people being accused of line jumping at one point because they were giving the vaccines out to anyone that happened to be there just so they didn't have to throw them out.

Cancel Them All---The World Would Do Just Fine With Fewer "Influencers"

This is the first I've heard of the show as well as the people in it. Don't care enough about either one to worry about cancelling my subscription. -
So, the battle of Joshes happened the other day... https://www.npr.org/2021/04/25/990714129/there-can-only-be-one-battle-of-the-joshes-brings-hundreds-to-nebraska

I had some minor side effects. Arm was a little sore on Friday and I didn't sleep all that well Friday night. Not sure if it was the bed I was sleeping in or the fact that my arm hurt. Saturday during the day I felt OK but later Saturday night I had body aches and chills. Nothing debilitating. Just a minor annoyance. Sunday woke up feeling 100%. Had a bit of a headache Sunday night and this morning but that's nothing really unusual. I get headaches sometimes. Hard to tell if it's a side effect or not...

I've heard from a few people that being really tired is a common side affect. One of my co-workers got his last week and said that was his issue. 2 of my other co-workers got theirs yesterday. Have not heard from them yet. They took today off as a precaution..

Same, In fact I'm heading out to get it in about 5 minutes.

Cancel Them All---The World Would Do Just Fine With Fewer "Influencers"
Iwritecode replied to caulfield12's topic in SLaM
I don't know if they'd ever make a major, or even a class, on "how to become an influencer" but they do have film schools or acting classes which are basically all the kids need anymore. A decent personality, the ability to edit and post videos and that's about it. Reading the article, I've never heard of the few that he mentions. But there are definitely some decent ones out there that do try to put out positive messages out in the world. I don't think it's fair to paint all of them with such a broad brush or judge them all based on the behavior of the worst of them. There are a handful of Youtubers (which is basically the same thing) that I like to watch that make some pretty good content without being assholes about it. Markaplier Anthony Padilla Smoshcast (which is where Anthony got his start) Dudedad jacksepticeye Kitboga (he makes hilarious videos where he wastes hours and sometimes days frustrating scammers) Jessica Kent (who I just recently discovered and talks a lot about time she spent in prison and how she's turned her life around) That's not to mention the many that I've found over the years that mostly make content for specific games like Kingdom Hearts, or Red Dead Redemption or MLB the Show. -
I think it's more like open everything up, go back to "normal" and whoever dies is collateral damage.
-
Meanwhile my company is having everyone return to working fully in the office on May 3rd. Probably 75% of our employees have been been working from home since November.

I'm not trying to twist anything. I read something you posted and responded. I only glanced at your other post because i couldn't tell which were your comments and which were the ones you were responding to. So I guess I didn't fully understand that you were specifically talking about a single ballpark in a single city when you said "outside baseball games". I was just pointing out a time/place where we would be worried about them. In a city that allows full capacity at their baseball games with zero restrictions. Apparently they aren't doing that in the Chicago stadiums so that's good.
-
I literally quoted your post. I never saw you mention that you were specifically talking about Chicago or limited capacity before I made that first post.
-
I was responding to your comment of "If masks and socially distancing work, why are you worried about outside baseball games? " That picture is why. Zero masks and zero social distancing.

First shot done. Gotta schedule the second one for sometime in April.

Just got an email from the county health department to schedule an appointment. Set for my first shot next week.
