  1. He's ranked 61st overall in the class. Performance and asking price will play a large part of it, but I would hazard anywhere from the late 1st to 3rd round?
  2. @Y2Jimmy0 posted up his way too early mock with the first 3 picks for the Sox. https://www.futuresox.net/2025/12/14/way-too-early-2026-mlb-mock-draft/
  3. Roch was ranked the #42 prospect by BA coming out of high school. Scouting report at the time below.
  4. Or you know, our shitty owner could just be shitty like he always has been.
  5. For what it's worth, he's listed under the "Potential Picks but without any Significant Buzz" section on the Baseball America Rule 5 hub.
  6. It kinda warps my brain that Jim's kid is a SS. Probably won't stick there though.
  7. I like him, but there are some red flags for pick #1. He really struggles with spin and off-speed stuff. Will see how he fares this year, but he really struggled in conference play. Never say never though.
  8. A Cholowsky/Emerson discussion sure is interesting. If Roch is who we think he is, do you risk passing on that for a similar but left handed profile with perhaps a slightly higher ceiling and more speed? You then also have to take into account our player development and the ability to unlock that ceiling along with the slower time to the bigs inherent with a prep selection. Do they want a more immediate impact for a hopefully burgeoning contention window? But you also potentially could cut a deal with Grady and have a few more million to play with. The risk averse part of me feels like you have to go with Cholo if he performs. You can't miss on this. We are going to have some fun discussions over the next few months.
  9. And that's fine. BA suggests he could be put into the OF or 3rd.
  10. Joe Doyle also has his first mock. https://overslotbaseball.com/mock-drafts/2026-mlb-mock-draft-first-round/
