  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 10, 2011 -> 10:51 AM) That's ridiculous. Not picking up the option on a 34-year old serviceable reliever will not make the Hudson deal look worse. Let him walk, collect the draft pick, and move on. I hope Frasor doesn't want to return so the Sox have little risk in offering him arbitration. Lord knows the Sox need draft picks.
  2. I'm a Morel fan, always have been. The bat has come around a bit as noted. I'd give him another season in hopes of further improvement, especially since I don't think next year's team will be very competitive.
  3. This is probably the most uninspiring Twins lineup I've ever seen. It's not even remotely interesting either.
  4. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 07:32 PM) Say what you want bout Pierre but he's up to almost . 290 I'll point to his -0.1 fWAR.
  5. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 5, 2011 -> 06:32 PM) Isn't Axelrod in the pen, in case Zach Stewart bombs again? Possibly. He could also be replacing Peavy if he's shut down by the Sox. Seems like that is what Peavy wants based off his post-shelling interview.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 10:43 PM) Heard that Cowley's going off on Sox fans on twitter. Anything interesting? Not really. More like offering fixes for next year's team. He wants to trade Quentin and Floyd, extend Danks and resign MB. Wants to send Gavin to NY for Brett Gardner. Also wants Dunn in Winter Ball.
  7. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 10:39 PM) The sox are bad, but they ain't catchin Houston, Baltimore, KC, Seattle, Minnesota. Doubt that'll catch the Cubs, Padres, Florida, Pirates and Nats either. Getting the 13th pick is probably the best realistic possibility. I'd be happy if they fell into the first 15 in the rare event the organization decides to sign another Type A.
  8. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 10:04 PM) I don't think I would pay attention to that team. Seconded.
  9. How fantastic would it be if Ozzie got his extension tonight?
  10. Reed's slider looked much better that inning.
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 4, 2011 -> 08:49 PM) He is obviously nervous. Saw him pitch once with the Knights, and his slider has alot more bite than this. I don't doubt it. A guy with his numbers absolutely has better stuff than what we've seen so far.
  12. Reed not looking so hot. That slider is rolling/hanging a bit.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 3, 2011 -> 06:56 PM) Dear Greg Hibbard, Please god no more 'it can still happen' threads. Seconded.
  14. Saladino is the most interesting prospect on said list. The rest are kind of filler.
  15. Chuck Garfien Ozzie Guillen says he'll want a contract extension from White Sox this off-season. He's signed through 2012. 1 minute ago Favorite Retweet Reply Chuck Garfien Guillen: "One thing I make clear, I don't think I'll be back here for 1 year contract, and not know about the next year." 56 seconds ago Favorite Retweet Reply
  16. QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 28, 2011 -> 05:21 PM) Everyone watching the Joe Cowley tirade on twitter? Its rather amusing Yes, and it's quite hilarious. What will his angle be next season when Ozzie is in Miami?
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2011 -> 03:38 PM) Yes, I think Buddy Bell doing his job would be to say something close to the reality on players. If he's weak on defense, I'd expect him to say that he needs to continue working on it. Suit yourself. It's quite telling when Buddy Bell is one of the only people you will find praising his defense. I like Dayan, but he has his warts and they are in the field.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 28, 2011 -> 03:33 PM) Serious question...how many of those scouting reports are up to date as of the middle of this season such that they would actually prove Buddy Bell wrong there? They vary from a few months to a few weeks old. Do you really think Buddy Bell is going to be critical of his prospects? Dayan's defensive acumen starts and ends with his arm.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 28, 2011 -> 03:18 PM) Buddy Bell on Viciedo....."He's become a very, very solid outfielder (this year)." Impartial scouting reports say otherwise. He will be tolerable out there if he hits.
