QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2011 -> 07:28 PM) I'm right there with you. I no longer get upset when we lose a few in a row cause it makes it more inevitable that arrogant POS gets let go. Bingo. If it leads to Ozzie's departure it's undoubtedly worth it. -

QUOTE (Wanne @ May 30, 2011 -> 07:06 PM) These Red Sox announcers have to be THE most boring announcers in the game. zzzzzzzzzz Has to be better than Carnival Barker Hawk proclaiming Yaz is the most prominent and important member of Red Sox franchise history. Someone buy him a muzzle. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 30, 2011 -> 06:07 PM) I've got a feeling this is going to be ugly. You and me both. -
Soria just blew another one. Gives up a 2 run HR to Hunter. Royals trail 9 - 8. Can't say I disagree.

CST_soxvan Daryl Van Schouwen Bruney, marquez up; mcpherson, harrell down 2 minutes ago

QUOTE (flavum @ May 30, 2011 -> 12:08 PM) Maybe they've come to their senses and will send Sale down to start. Yes please.

Sickels has his 2nd Mock Draft up. 1st Round Supplemental Round As noted before predicting the supplemental round is an absolute shot in the dark, but it's a useful read if one cares to get a feel for the talent that will be available at that point. I'd love for Jackie Bradley Jr, Swihart, Hedges, Meo, Nimmo, Boyd, or Owens to be on the board at 47 but that would require a combination of luck and a willingness by the Sox to open their wallets for a few of the players noted.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 29, 2011 -> 07:10 PM) And I can't wait. I tune into Royals games just to watch Hosmer hit. Hey, and what happened to Jeffress? He got demoted? For what? I believe they are converting him back into a starter.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 29, 2011 -> 01:48 PM) Man, somebody on this board last year told me that liked Harrell and thought he had a future. I wish I could remember who it was. So I could just make fun of you for an hour or so. They must be taking notes from bumbling Hawk who likes to slurp the fringe prospects/organizational fodder that is the Sox farm system.
-
30 for Danks already. Harrell will get some innings today.

This thread has veered off course it seems. Anyhow, Josh Bell informed the MLB Scouting Bureau that he will be attending college. Also, John Stilson tore his labrum and is done for the year. Both players were almost certain 1st round picks and will both fall accordingly.

QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ May 28, 2011 -> 01:50 PM) no i just asked because hes obviously on something (unless u believe the whole swing change lol) I must have missed the conclusive PED evidence and positive test results.
-
QUOTE (Melissa1334 @ May 28, 2011 -> 12:27 PM) why? Because I like baseball.

I love watching Jose Bautista. Not so much right now though.

Baseball America's 2nd mock is up: http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/draft...11/2611827.html It's only the 1st round obviously. Any supplemental round predictions are pretty much worthless.

Mitchell 1 - 4 4th game in a row without striking out. Baby steps?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 27, 2011 -> 06:19 PM) That'd be crazy if Rendon fell to the Orioles. He and Manny Machado would give them a potentially dominating left-side of the infield in a few years. Teams are worried about the injuries. He's been playing at less than 100% for most of the year. Some scouts think he won't stick at 3B either. That being said, the consensus by many is that he won't get past Seattle. And for what it's worth, that mock draft is just by some random commenter. Sickels and Law both have mock's up. Baseball America's 2nd rendition goes up tomorrow I believe.
-
QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ May 27, 2011 -> 07:22 PM) CJ Cron is another former Sox pick. He's pretty much a consensus 1st rounder at the moment as one of the most polished college bats. One of my favorite 1st round bats. His younger brother is draft eligible as well.
-
I also am a Tilson fan, and yes he's definitely seeking a significant bonus. I wonder if the Sox are even considering going over slot on a pick or two due to not having a 1st round pick to spend on? My cynical nature expects them to use it as an excuse to spend less though. Players I like that may or may not be available. -Andrew Susac -Brandon Nimmo -Alex Dickerson -Dillon Howard -Tyler Beede -Josh Osich -Dillon Maples -Anthony Meo -Hudson Boyd -Charlie Tilson -Henry Owens -Noe Ramirez -Zach Cone -Tyler Goeddel I'd imagine the Sox draft pitching 1st which is the strength of this class.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 25, 2011 -> 04:10 PM) The one thing I'll never understand is how Kenny made that Hudson/Jackson trade looking at our possible starting rotation for 2012. We're looking at a very expensive rotation with still a few holes. Since when has Kenny worried about the future? Win now! -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 25, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) Why, there's been no deterioration in his stuff. He's simply been a hard luck pitcher almost his entire career with the White Sox. I remember not so long ago quite a significant number of posters feeling we should sign Danks for anywhere from $75-100 million for 5 years, etc. You're telling me MLB GM's won't give up much now simply because he's pitching for one of the worst offenses in the majors in terms of run support when he pitches? I'm not buying that at all. Indeed. Danks is still quite desirable. Rosenthal was going on about it yesterday on the radio.
