  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 8, 2011 -> 05:30 PM) What the f***? 5 Ks? lmao. Oh my god. This is franchise is toast. I've had enough. I'm unleashing my devastation like never before on our player development. Relax guy. The draft is soon. We have a whole $2.5 million allotted this year with the absence of a first round pick.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 8, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) When will Dustin Ackley get called up? This Seattle lineup is beyond despicable. He needs to start hitting first. Despite the glowing scouting reports, the numbers haven't really been there in his minor league career. I'm in the "Ackley is Overrated" camp.
  3. Even through the Sox hitting slump, I don't think I would trade offenses with Seattle.
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ May 8, 2011 -> 03:57 PM) Nobody should pencil Mitchell into a 2013 or 2014 Sox lineup. He's not good. 0 - 5, 5 K K-rate at a whopping 39.3%.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) I'm done with Alexei in the 2 hole. His at bats lately with runners on have been terrible. Ozzie has been talking about putting Morel there. He said he almost did it today.
  6. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 7, 2011 -> 11:25 PM) Mitchell ALMOST went a game without striking out. Struck out his last AB of the night. Went 1-4 with an RBI. Don't worry, he's made up for it by striking out 4 times in 4 AB's so far today. Trying to reach that elusive 40% K-rate. Edit: 5 strikeouts now. Ouch.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 6, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) Yet people seem genuinely happy on here with the job Buddy Bell has done. It's more on JR/KW not willing to spend over slot. The resources are extremely limited. The amount invested in the draft over the past years is disgusting. Spending less in 2 years combined than some teams do in 1 year is appalling.
  8. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ May 6, 2011 -> 06:08 PM) If an actual GM is using win-loss record in trade discussions I think that GM would get laughed at by every big league team. This x1000.
  9. Hawk and Stone have been sick. Huff is filling in for Hawk tonight due to the illness.
  10. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 2, 2011 -> 07:36 PM) Gac with his 8th HR. I wonder if he gets a called up to AA any time soon, or if the Sox let him rake at High-A and then trade him at some point since 1B is blocked for a while now. Gac isn't really a prospect nor will he have much trade value. A 25 year old in High-A is pretty much an organizational guy.
  11. Grimm is mowing down Kannapolis. Solid prospect though.
  12. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ May 1, 2011 -> 02:19 PM) Man, even Hawk sounds demoralized. He's sounded that way for quite a few games now. It makes him even less bearable than usual.
  13. Pretty excited to see Britton for the first time. Great sinker, plus slider, decent changeup.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 08:51 PM) Now Rios homers down 5 in the 9th. Was the gamethread really closed for being too negative? Is there something to be positive about?
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 07:41 PM) You have no idea how bad Tillman looks. He looks dreadful, and is even being squeezed a bit. It's unfathomable that the Sox don't have a run yet.
  16. Kenny needs to phone Anthropoulos and get some tips on successfully dumping overpaid underachieving center fielders.
  17. Tillman has nothing. Without the curve and change, he should be getting pounded. I still wonder how he lost 4-5 MPH on his fastball.
  18. I really wish Sale was in the minors honing his craft as a starter.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) He'll never make it to the majors. No kidding.
  20. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) Jordan Danks just hit a HR. I can't wait to see Jordan and his 40% strikeout rate in the Bigs.
  21. Drew Lee is absolutely beasting in Kanny. Yes it's a small sample size, but I'd like to see him face more age appropriate competition. He has his 3rd HR of the season tonight.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) If we were most teams, Beckham and Sale would still be considered prospects and we could brag about our awesome farm system. I'd prefer Sale still as a prospect. Starting in the minors and such. Prospects "graduating" is also a lousy excuse for having a poor farm system. Those graduations are replenished in organizations that have a semblance of depth.
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 08:30 PM) FanGraphs says Alex Torres is the Rays 9th best prospect. He's probably a top 3 prospect in the White Sox system. Without question. The Rays have the 2nd best farm system in baseball while the Sox are bottom 3. I'm quite jealous of the pitching they routinely churn out.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) Start him now I hope? I also hope. It seems they are fast-tracking him as a reliever though.
