  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) And McPherson is at .314 in Charlotte. Might be a move brewing. Not happening.
  2. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 07:45 PM) Uh I'm fairly certain next year is the last year we control Danks Correct.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 10:01 PM) Me too. How's that No. 1 draft pick doing, Mitchell? Is he ready? Not even close.
  4. Beckham has looked downright awful at the plate lately.
  5. Heidenreich was shelled. 0.2 IP 4 H 6 ER 1 BB 0 SO
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) Could've had Trout. Instead, we take another college football player with a long swing. A high schooler with our 1st round pick? Unheard of. I still can't find fault with the Mitchell pick though.
  7. If this isn't a joke, it's a terrible thread.
  8. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) Umm, Tyler Flowers came out of tonight's game after one at bat. Wasn't hit by a pitch, doesn't say he was replaced due to injury. Traded? Injured.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) How long before we start hearing that KW is interested in promoting Petricka to help the bullpen? Addison Reed would be more likely. And it certainly isn't out of the question.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 10:06 PM) He's playing the "Have to protect his arm" card. f***ing apologist mouthpiece. Buehrle goes out there, gets three outs on 12 pitches, and we all go home happy. Dude is unlistenable.
  11. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 09:46 PM) Thornton threw an 0-2 hanging curveball down the middle. That isnt the Matt Thornton of last year. It was his slider. The one he hardly throws because it is bad. He doesn't have a curveball.
  12. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 03:45 PM) Kanny and Lakewood tied 0-0 in the 15th inning. Blanke finally wins it with a 2 run HR in the 16th.
  13. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 10, 2011 -> 03:43 PM) Dash won 4-2 Mitchell 0-5, 4 K. Yikes Yikes indeed. The K-rate is certainly a concern with Mitchell.
  14. Petricka's final line: 6.0 IP 0 H 1 BB 9 SO I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the system's top prospect this year. Though there really isn't much competition at this point.
  15. I don't see a 4/10 games thread, but Petricka is mowing them down. So far, 5.0 IP 0 H 9 SO 1 BB http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/st...kanafx_lwdafx_1
  16. QUOTE (cws0591 @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 10:24 PM) thanks i thought he had a decent slider in the past but i did not want to look foolish. He does have a slider. It's not very good though, and he hardly ever uses it. He only threw it 6.8% of the time last year.
  17. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 8, 2011 -> 09:49 PM) I remember when AJ coming to the plate didn't immediately make me hate him. But, the intangibles! The grindiness! Everything else is irrelevant.
  18. K-town Intimidators Intimidators K-town Intimidators Looks like Game 2 of this season will have to wait :-( RT “@blueclaws: Tonight's game has been PPD...double-header tomorrow at 4:05 pm.” 5 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 7, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) Perhaps they can just use the Felix rule with Griffith...don't let him throw the slider. It would make him work that much harder on the change, and if he doesn't completely lose the slider, it may make him into a dangerous pitcher down the road. I thought I read that he abandoned the slider entirely?
  20. Barons roster set: http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/news/ar...sp&sid=t247
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 03:53 PM) Go start your own message board where everyone has to be positive 100% of the time. Oh wait they already have one called WSI. Hey now. The sky has been falling in our gamethread too.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 01:26 PM) Absolutely no excuse to have Pierre as the DH when Lastings has showed no defensive ability this season. Also, might be time to stop letting Butler beat us with an open base. Lastings has never shown much defensive ability. Just wait until his adventures in CF!
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 01:19 PM) Wow, Milledge is terrible defensively. Indeed. And this isn't a new development. Today's corner OF spots are downright scary.
  24. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 6, 2011 -> 12:19 PM) Imagine having season tickets and knowing that KW Jr. could possibly get 500 at bats. I mean even the players who are worth following aren't all that exciting. A 25 year old Nathan Jones, a few relief pitchers in Infante, and Remenowsky, a fringy Brandon Short, and a very questionable catcher in Phegley. I'm genuinely curious if there is less prospect-laden club at the AA level this season. Pray for Mitchell to destroy W-S to earn a promotion I suppose.
