  1. Didn't you earlier allude to scouts not being able to do their job because of the existence of Dan Fabian? Even with Rick/Kenny gone? Or do you expect that to change?
  2. If the Sox do end up receiving a very high pick, I hope they get creative with the bonus pool considering the weak top of the class.
  3. You sounded like the return of Parkman. It was uncanny.
  4. I actually don't hate a Braves package centered around Grissom, Smith-Shawver, Waldrep/Murphy. Think I might prefer it to what the Dodgers have to offer. It's not Baltimore, but I like Grissom and lord knows the system needs pitching.
  5. They were using a pre-tacked ball. Believe they reverted back to a normal ball at some point. Regardless, Mena has always struck out a lot of guys. At every stop. He's one of my favorite prospects. Relies so heavily on his breaking stuff though. I imagine he starts out in Charlotte? Hard to discount a guy who is only 20 doing what he's doing. Especially if it continues in AAA.
  6. No idea if the Reds are interesed, but wish they had some position player headliners. I thought Cam Colier would take off at some point but boy is his write-up rough. Lowder and Petty would be great on the pitching side though.
  7. To chain off Bmags, here's the BA Cowser scouting report. He's 4th behind Holliday, Basallo, Mayo.
  8. This is a great observation. I usually write off Morosi. Doesn't seem to have the track record on breaking things like your Rosenthals and Heymans. He loves to jerk off anything Michigan related, so him and Getz having that connection definitely raises an eyebrow as far as White Sox leaks go for now and the future.
  9. Dunno if this was posted earlier, but from Rosenthal's Athletic piece. https://theathletic.com/5095044/2023/11/28/mlb-trade-rumors-juan-soto-padres-blue-jays/
  10. I am really not a fan of the profile at the top of the class. The writeup on Konnor Griffin is more my style though. Exciting sounding player. Sign me up.
  11. BA has updated 2024 draft rankings up. Will post the top 15. Boy is it college heavy at the top. Don't see a prep until #11. https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/2024-top-mlb-draft-prospects/
  12. Yea. I didn't realize Rushing wasn't a sure thing catcher.
  13. They have some interesting pieces but I think I largely prefer what the Orioles have to offer. If they are interested that is.
  14. The De Paula write up is pretty brutal on his Defense. Not sure that's what the new regime is looking for.
  15. Dodgers top 10 updated at Baseball America. For the non subs. https://www.baseballamerica.com/teams/2012-los-angeles-dodgers/prospects/?season=2024&ranking=preseason
  16. I loved Shuster at draft time and lost track after that. Can I still be hopeful?
  17. I'd also be worried that they aren't targeting rookies necessarily. Maybe just some established players with perhaps not tons of control left. I guess that shows that I'm of the opinion that they should just be rebuilding it at this point. Again.
  18. I don't know what to root for either. Even if the class isn't considered super strong at the top, having that large bonus pool is a huge boon. If you are good at identifying, drafting, and developing at least.
