#3 coming into this year, #44 overall in baseball.
Only on Keith Law's list. Didn't make Baseball America's or Baseball Prospectus's top 100. Opinions on Stewart are very wide ranging.

They be shoppin. If the Sox lose this afternoon, I expect Q to be gone by friday night.
And if they win he won't be moved?
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 01:41 PM)
After reading through some of the scouting reports and putting together his AAP page, this guy is a solid get in this trade. Ceiling #2.
Depends on who you ask. He's lost some luster. Law is the only one really high on him. KG sees him as a 4 at absolute best. More likely a reliever.
QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 01:11 PM)
If it is indeed Shelby Miller and not Trevor Miller as originally posted, he was the 19th overall pick by the Cardinals in 2009, and apparently their top prospect coming in to that year.
That was a joke. No chance in hell that would happen.
QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 12:44 PM)
I think there's a shot. We'll likely have to eat at least a million per season in salary, but I think Kenny would be open to all offers

I'm terrified because Alex Anthopoulos is involved...
I'm a big fan of his. You can bet your bottom dollar he will be sending EJ somewhere before the deadline.
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:34 AM)
He was a stud in Cal. Usually I agree with the whole league thing, and he probably is a Ross Gload 2.0 (don't know if he'll even be that), but his swing is very sexy. Then again.. he reminds me of Casey Kotchman in alot of ways.
Ha.. no chance.
He's probably a AAAA guy at best. I await the scouting assessments upon the trade's completion. I also await Kenny justifying this one.
QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:28 AM)
I agree Cooper is not considered a Top Prospect even though he's tearing up Triple A. He's hitting in the best offensive minor league ballpark in Las Vegas. Toronto's Triple A team is batting .304 in Las Vegas. Cooper is a bench player at best.
This.
PCL.
QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 09:21 AM)
That would seem too good to be true...
.367/.434/.564/.999, 39! 2Bs, 41 BB:30 K
Despite his numbers this year, Cooper isn't thought of as much of a prospect. It would be a pretty abysmal return.
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 11:13 PM)
I pray the prospect is good but I don't see why Toronto would throw in a minor leaguer that's worth a damn, it makes no sense.
It won't be a quality prospect. It sounds like a salary dump and eventual Type B compensation.
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 11:07 PM)
Even if you like to buy into the Sox being dumb, how does this benefit Toronto?
It only makes sense if Anthopoulos is able to flip EJ for something desirable. I wouldn't put it past him though, he's made some shrewd moves since taking over.
QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 10:58 PM)
If this trade is true wouldn't Toronto still be able to move Jackson b4 the deadline as well?
Yes, and I bet they would.
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 07:03 PM)
Its gotta be Rios.
You know whats funny. Even casual baseball fans can understand that he sucks. I was watching the game with my gf and she was remarking how f***ed up his batting stance is.
DL? Bad contract trade? Jerry wouldn't just eat his contract.

Folks with @KnightsBaseball say DeAza being recalled to big club. Reason not known, but good for him. Was hitting .322 in CLT #WhiteSox
