  1. I was there when he broke in. I know Jim Kaat stories he forgot.
  2. Do you ever want to make a post, but do not know where to put it? I'm reaching here, but this thread talks about Moncada, who is playing third because Machado went elsewhere. Okay, have you all seen Manny's latest stunt? Yesterday, 4/2, he is at bat for the team that ripped us off in the Tatis deal, and he pops up in foul territory just to the first base side. Catcher flips off his mask, moves to get under it, and Marvelous Manny drops his bat in front of the catcher, who is looking up at the ball. Ump correctly throws the jerk out of the game. What a toenail. Fockhim. I'm glad he went elsewhere.
  3. I wonder if this new delivery is what he had before the Nats got hold of him.
  4. I don't like the switch to third base for Moncada. Lots of throwing errors on the way. The same experiment failed in Boston.
  5. Buehrle>Wood thinks he is hitting .167.
  6. For those of us who did not see the game, please describe the plays Palka screwed up. I caught a couple if innings of the KC feed, but there were no good replays. Tks.
  7. Looks to me like the four Charlotte outfielders mentioned in original post are blocking younger guys with real potential.
  8. Beltre will be a first ballot HOFer.
  9. Your list forgot Omar Narvaez, who has 2 hits tonight including a HR for Seattle.
  10. Bad tag by Moncada. All he had to do was keep his glove near the bag, but he tagged him up top.
  11. Tatis had 2 hits in his first game. SD fans love him. Hahn.
  12. Kevan Smith did make the Active roster for Angels.
  13. Forget about CF. That already belongs to Luis Robert.
  14. Yes, Zero. Looks like the rest of MLB says the same. Every year there is one FA who just should have taken the QO, and this year it is Keuchel.
  15. I wonder if Boras will be representing any of these three.
  16. Lots of pitchers back in the day threw a lot of innings for a lot of years and never had injuries like this. See Warren Spahn, Robin Roberts, Steve Carlton. Of course they didn't throw 100 mph, and they had different exercise routines. Instead of massive weight lifting that enable the modern pitchers to throw so hard, the old timers did things like run wind sprints, do long toss, etc. They also drank beer. Now these guys are built like linebackers and drink protein shakes. I'm just babbling, pay no attention, but I am disappointed in the Dunning situation, but not one bit surprised.
  17. Yep. Right from the beginning, when Agent Boros tried to get such a high signing bonus that we would have lost a draft pick the next year. Of course, if we had passed on Rodon, no telling who we would have picked. Still, I agree with you.
  18. I think all the other GM's and agents like Hahn.
  19. His younger brother Peter is #3 prospect for Rockies.
  20. This whole business reminds me of a case back in late 70's or early 80's. An NFL placekicker (I'm not going to name him) got into a sort of similar situation (not a relative) and was charged with a similar crime, but they let him off the hook by pleading to a lesser offense instead of the one with a 20 year sentence if found guilty. He always claimed he was innocent. He was cut, re-signed with another team, and then cut again when all was made public. This guy was not US citizen, by the way. Back in those days, I had less faith in the criminal justice system, since there have been many instances where a person was offered a lesser plea just to clear the case, guilt or innocence notwithstanding.
  21. None of us knows what he did do and what he didn't do when he was 15, and none of us knows how the dialogue went between law enforcement and him and his parents.
  22. Not sure what you mean, Harold. Please explain.
