  1. Three years? How about 5 years. Sox mascot should be a snail.
  2. Interesting Video. When Tulo came up he had HOF written all over him, IMO. Then the injuries started, some of which were his own fault. If he has a couple really good years with Yanks, he still might make it.
  3. After the 2017 season, when the Marlins were doing their player dumpings, Yelich was obviously on the block, and I saw one comment somewhere saying that there was a possible trade for Yelich headlined by Sox including Hansen. I always wondered if there was any truth there.
  4. I'm looking for comments on Moncada's play at third base so far. How does he look so far?
  5. All arguments here make sense, or least most of them. But the underlying problem here is that players don't want to play for this team in this city.
  6. Ray, I don't know how you can defend including Tatis in that trade. Obviously, no one really knew what the Sox had in Tatis, including you, me, and all those execs. But we did give him $800,000, he was very young, he was unproven, but he was an interesting prospect, so why not play him for at least one freaking year before we include him in a trade for a broken down, expensive pitcher who was wanted by NO ONE. Hahn personified incompetence by signing off on that deal. That's why he referred to himself as a jackass 2 months ago.
  7. I'm not sure he is that much better than our boy Engel.
  8. Plus it's close to Harper's home -- Vegas. Rox should jump on this like a tall dog.
  9. Most other teams would put him on the roster right away. They would have done it last year. He was ready for MLB. Look at the Red Sox, for instance. When Benintendi, Betts, Bogaerts were ready, they brought them up. Just because the Cubs did it, doesn't mean we should.
  10. Phillies prob think they won that trade. They had to get rid of Thome, because a young Ryan Howard was there. Rowand was a solid return for them.
  11. Right, Avi is a better hitter than Jay, and costs less. Alonso,,,,,where do I begin?
  12. Regarding those two guys, who together made a MLB laughing stock out of Hahn/White Sox, the only curiosity is how severely and how long they will be booed in Chicago, assuming there is anybody there who cares. Hahn is such a toenail. $4 MM for Jay. How does he arrive at that number? I wish he would share that negotiating process with us. The whole conversation could be a script for a slapstick movie comedy. Who would play Hahn?
  13. $12 MM of that bonus probably goes to his agent.
  14. Give us Machado, and we contend next year for sure.
  15. f**etaboutit. You're dreamin'. Arenado isn't going anywhere, and if he does, it won't be to White Sox. He's likely to get and sign 8 years at $265mm, give or take. Soon.
  16. Now, Preller's problem is what to do with Ian Kinsler. I bet he calls Hahn and makes an offer.
  17. Wrong. Not a huge salary. Boston paid that bonus.
  18. On the subject of opt outs, I like them, especially on long term deals. If a player decides to opt out half way through the deal, it means he performed well all those years. It benefits the team. Plus, the same team has first shot at the new contract anyway.
