  1. Binetti spends too much time trying to be cute. Just call the game. Why does he keep talking to Stone about the heater in the booth? Not funny. Just call the game and let it come to you.
  2. Why did TX Mgr. leave that lefty in to face our right handed hitters in 8th inning?
  3. What's with Lawrie and his mouthguard? Impressing the chicks? I like his play, however. Zach Erwin had a decent start in A Ball this year.
  4. They can bring Coats up cuz there is plenty of room on the 40 man. Only 37 now, I believe. But they would bring up Shuck first, unfortunately. I would love to see Coats in action.
  5. QUOTE (kapzk @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) Hopefully that's a confidence booster for Jose Why would it be? It was just a ground ball off a bad pitch that was lucky to get through. He knows it.
  6. Best player YTD in the system is Coats.
  7. QUOTE (harkness @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 08:43 AM) I don't think you understand statistics from reading this thread... I guess you don't think the writers in the article didn't understand statistics either... I gave you statistics and so did they. I guess it's a message board though so you can't admit that you were wrong - unwritten rule of message boards... I guess we have to agree to disagree. Most of us can admit when we are wrong. You gotta learn who can and who can't.
  8. Fielder must be worst base runner in MLB, or anywhere else, too. He should have scored easily and kept it at a double play, thanks to great play by Eaton.
  9. Sox missed their chances last off season. They could have had Dickerson, IMO. Boston, with its sxxtload of prospects, was ripe for a starting pitcher before they signed Price.
  10. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) To think the Red Sox offered Iglesias and we said no. Really? That hurts. Kenny or Rick?
  11. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 10:50 AM) Phil Rogers ‏@philgrogers 16s16 seconds ago With eight home runs, @Rockies Trevor Story needs two more to tie Jose Abreu's rookie record of 10 in April. @whitesox And, Story lost two HR's this month due to the new fences at Mile Hi.
  12. QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 05:06 PM) If you don't want to give any internal options a try, Mike Morse got released today. He couldn't be any worse than Avi Yes, he could be worse.
  13. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 07:48 AM) When Coats is called upon there's not going to be any more pressure than there already is for a rookie put in a starting role. He also 26 already so hopefully a little more mentally mature than most. I'd like to see the move for Avi now. We know that won't happen as the Sox have Stockholm Syndrome with Avi. The first place excuse is also BS as the reasons we are in first have nothing to do with Avi. You can still exchange the awful parts of this team to make it better. That's funny.
  14. I think we have a problem. I know that Sands' two late game mis-plays were initially caused by poor throws from Frazier, but still, most full time starting first basemen would have made those plays. And, yes, Sands did recover and make a nice throw to second to get Trout. But when Abreu sits, defense suffers. Plus we needa left handed bat. When does Ishikawa get recalled from Charlotte?
  15. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 07:21 AM) Based on what, exactly? This would be far worse than anything he's done in the past few years. Let's wait 8 hours before answering your question.
  16. Anyone expect to see Sands back at First Base soon?
  17. QUOTE (ron883 @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 10:45 PM) That guy had some lighttower power and a big hole in his swing.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 01:07 PM) Obviously it is very early, but his numbers in his first 11 games this year are strikingly similar to his last 2 years in Charlotte: 2014: .199/.283/.362, 30.4% K/PA, 9.1% BB/PA 2015: .203/.293/.375, 31.7% K/PA, 10.3% BB/PA 2016: .205/.255/.432, 38.3% K/PA, 6.4% BB/PA He's striking out more and walking less, but the overall results are quite similar. If he's still in this territory in May or June, it's time to accept he is who he is. Release him and let Delmonico or someone else from BHAM take over and get some AAA experience. One of your colleagues/fellow Admin won't like this.
  19. O for 2 so far tonight. Another K. Time to put Saladino at third for a couple of games.
  20. Well, Frazier is in a complete funk now. 4 AB's, 4 K's. Golden Sombrero.
  21. I agree with Ron on this one. NFL comparisons don't work. "Middle of first quarter......"?? Come on. Against whom? A JUCO team? Face it, Frazier does not (yet) look good at the plate. He has been a .265ish hitter with power and good defense in the NL. He doesn't figure to hit that in AL. He'll prob end up in the .220- .235 range with power and good defense. He is not an ideal #4 hitter, but there is not a solid alternative.

    Panda

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 16, 2016 -> 03:58 PM) What is getting old is in your quest for a middle of the order left handed bat, you suggest hitters who aren't middle of the order hitters anymore. Sizemore hadn't played in 3 seasons yet you thought he would make a fine clean up hitter, Panda sucked last year and really was no better than Conor Gillaspie the year before, that was before his got even heavier to the point he belt exploded on a swing and a miss the other day. Panda is eating his way out of baseball. If he wasn't owed the money he was owed, he probably would be stuffing his face right now somewhere as an ex ball player. He is a talented guy, it is a shame he either won't get the help he needs to put himself in a better position to perform, or he just can't do it. It isn't like he has to be all that well conditioned to play baseball. But he is off the charts now, and going the wrong way. It is one of those signings where you just knew what was going to happen. The guy has played well fat before, but he is getting older and fatter. I would think a professional athlete being paid what he is being paid would want to be in the physical condition he needed to be in to provide the most value. From some of his comments last year, it seems like he doesn't really give a s***. He is content getting paid . He is a freaking slob. End of story.
  23. Now, that was a sh--ty at bat by AJ. Pitcher never threw a strike.
